Rocky Mountain Saint #5

Timberline Trail

Rate this book
Tate Saint, man of the mountains, was grieving his wife when Jim Beckwourth brought word from Kit Carson that he was needed at Bent's Fort. Eager to put his loss behind him and anxious to know what his mentor and friend needed, Tate set out for the fort. He had been summoned to help a young woman, Maggie O'Shaunessy, find her father, a man that was searching for gold and riches in the high country of the Rockies. Begrudgingly accepting the job as combination caretaker, teacher and protector of a fiery redhead from the city, Tate and Maggie set out to comb the mountains for her last living relative. Meeting the challenges of the wilderness with confrontations with grizzlies, mountains storms, renegade mountain men, and warring Indian tribes, Tate and Maggie rescue a young Indian maiden and set out to return her to her people. With a journey that takes them through the mountains and to the Bayou Salado, danger seems to always be at hand. Then they find sign of her father, and set out to follow his trail, a trail that leads through mountain valley, across the high country above timberline and down into the flats that are filled with Cheyenne, Crow and Yamparika Ute Indians. With conflict and danger their constant companion, the two young people are forced to turn to one another to survive and hopefully find the girl's father before it's too late.

Mr. Rundell has certainly penned a masterpiece in Timberline Trail, as it certainly exceeded my greatest expectations. There is so much warmth and comfort in each and every exciting episode. I have had the opportunity to read all of the Saint stories, and each one is definitely a winner. This story even exceeded my greatest expectations. There is on exciting adventure after the other throughout the entire book. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next Saint extravaganza.

I guess five stars, being the max, says it all about this very, very outstanding western adventure. This is a family-friendly story with plenty of entertaining episodes to satisfy your most demanding hunger for romance, gunplay, and even a little bit of western espionage.

Saint, and his cohorts, do an excellent job in achieving their goals, as well as a very exciting romantic episode to end it all.
Their is never a dull moment throughout the entire story and I am very well pleased with the author's apparent knowledge of his descriptive subject matter.

The storylines were well thought out, and, as always, Mr. Rundell is so proficient in his character selection. I most certainly recommend this novel, as well as the entire series, to all readers, especially those living great western folklore adventures. You will definitely be impressed with your selection.

Bountiful

Reading this book in the series drew me into observing the land that our Creator designed for us. Having lived for a time in many parts of this great country, back in the late 1940's & ending up in Utah in the mid 1960's, l can honestly appreciate the writer's love of sharing.

Good story

Third's the charm, the first two had bad luck. Another good story, I'm enjoying this series. If only bad guys in this world were so easily dispatched.

If you know Tate, you know he would like nothing more than to be left alone to roam around the mountains. You also know he is a sucker for helping someone in need. In this one, Kit Carson asks him to help a beautiful Irish lass find her father, who had headed for the mountains to find gold and collect some pelts. His plan was to make enough to send for his family, but Maggie's mom had died and now she is one determined lady. We have bad guys and indians so how can you go wrong?

Such realism, suspense and romance and spiritual uplifting truth that anyone can understand.

Fivev stars......? I give this book a SIX STAR rating. I highly recommend this book and probably any of, B. N. Rundell's, books to anyone who enjoys western and mountain men books. Great characters and storyline. And Rundell is superb at creating "word pictures" in living color. This read is filled with action, emotion, suspense, humor and romance.

Very interesting book

The usual action and adventure this time was mixed with beautiful romance and sweet human emotions. The flow of the story is unpredictable. From brutal massacre to saving a child to fight with renegade then accumulating in finding the father end having Tate married again.....Very interesting story.
