Injured and lost in space with no memory of how she got there... Laurel's head is bandaged and half of her hair is cut off, and a kindly alien is telling her he rescued her from the intergalactic slave trade. So why does she hear screams echoing in the halls of his space ship? When she follows the sound, her world is torn apart once more and she will need to rise out of the ashes if she is going to survive and make it to freedom. Druath NaKam is a faithful soldier of the Detyen Legion. He's been trained to endure the worst hardships his enemies throw at him, even if his life is destined to be brutally short. But nothing prepared him for torture at the hands of a sadistic scientist with a grudge against Detyens. The only thing that can keep him sane is the woman on board who might be his destiny, but the road to escape is long and treacherous. When Laurel and Dru thrust into a world on the brink of war, solving a centuries old mystery might be the key to saving Earth. But when an uncovered betrayal threatens to destroy Laurel, Dru will do anything to make her whole, no matter the personal cost. Laurel will need to find the strength to heal and Dru will need to become the warrior he was born to be if their bond is to flourish before all hope is lost. Each Detyen Warriors novel can be read as a standalone. You can read about the adventures of these fated mates or listen in audio!

You who have read the previous books rember Laurel as a traitor of her saviors.

Here we discover that that's not true. She had a control chip implanted in her brain which compelled her to sabotage her saviors, who, as retaliation have left her to be captured by enemies.

When she comes to her senses she doesn't remember anything... She's onboard a vessel in space, alone with aliens...

Se discovers that on the same vessel another kind of alien is tortured, so she dicides that they'll run away together.

That other alien is A Detyan warrior Dru who recognize in Lauren his Denya, his mate, and if she accepts him he wouldn't have to die.

I'll not tell you anymore about the story because it will be spoilering! LOL

But, I mus tell you that Lauren got on my nerve often. Her actiions bordered dangerously on TSTL! She knows that she's in danger but goes around alone?!!! WTF!!!???

Also the ending... an almost cliffy where nothing is solved apart their mate-denya relationship.

So, now I must read the next to discover what will happen! Grrr!!!

Laurel couldn't remember what had happened to her when she woke in a med bay. An Alien man said he had rescued her and was looking after her until they could take her home. when she was feeling better she found all is not as it seemed. Dru had been captured when HQ had been attacked now he was being tortured and was coming close to giving up, then was by a woman with the voice of an angel. As in the other books of this series a Detyen warrior finds his mate in a mess of trouble. Plenty twists, turns and action to keep you griped, with a tender side you'll love.

FAULTLESS

Faultless is the fourth book in the Detyen Warriors series and I loved it. A great storyline that was intriguing and exciting, filled with drama, violence, suspense, and romance. I really liked Dru and Laura, they were a good match and their chemistry was undeniable. It was nice to catch up with previous characters as well, which I always love when reading a series. Overall a very enjoyable and entertaining. A copy was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book with my honest opinion.

In this book, both the H and h are prisoners of a ruthless scientist who has been experimenting and torturing them. This scientist has a connection to the destruction of the planet Detya and is now targeting Earth.

This is the 4th book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. This is Laurel and Dru’s story and it is fast-paced with lots of drama and intrigue. This story really draws you and transports you to another place and time. I liked the characters and their chemistry is steamy. I was hooked from beginning to end. Loved it!

Laurel Ormand woke up screaming but she had to be silent so they didn’t know she was awake. She had a headache and found half of her hair had been shaved off – why? A purple alien Oscavian research doctor, Brakley Varrow, walked in and said she had been unconscious for several days. She had a control chip implant in her head that slavers used, which they removed. He told her it messes with memories, and there had been minor damage at the site of the chip. She was still healing. He said they would return her to her people when she was fully healed.

Druath NaKam, a soldier of the Detyen Legion, was in intense pain, chained to the wall. He was being tortured and experimented on by an Oscavian who hated the Detyens. When Laurel heard screams of pain, she had to investigate. Someone might need help. But they had just finished their torture session and left the room. Dru heard a soft voice ask what they had done to him! He couldn’t see and couldn’t speak, but the voice and scent put him at ease. She left and wasn’t able to get back to him.

Dru finally managed to escape when the scientists were careless in wrapping his claws after another experiment. He found Laurel’s room and, as soon as Dru saw her, he knew immediately she was his Denya (mate). After the surprise of seeing him, she immediately knew they would have to escape and she had a plan! But they had done more testing on her, and she found her headache was worse, she was dizzy and her brain foggier. Dru didn’t notice, and when she felt okay, she took him to the escape ships. Apparently, however, they needed some sort of key which she thought she knew where it would be from her earlier tour with Varrow. But when she stood, she stumbled and her words slurred and Dru realized she was not at all well. After she was able to explain, he refused to leave until she was healed, even though it meant he would return to probably even worse torture. Was there any hope for them?

Aside from reading about torture, the book was really good. It was fast-paced, exciting, and full of suspense. The main characters were both remarkable considering all that they endured. And finding out they were mates gave Dru a definite reason to fight and survive. When they discover the danger to Earth, they have even more reason to escape! I listened to the audiobook version of the book. There are two narrators who did a good job in putting life into the already-exciting story. No doubt about it, this is an awesome book I highly recommend!

Mission accomplished for Detyen and denya

First of all, my thanks to the author for an ARC of Faultless. Second, this is an unbiased, uncompensated and voluntary review. Third, DETYENS ROCK!!! Those beautiful, heroic and doomed aliens - who must find their true mate by 30 or die - never give up hope. Dru is approaching 30, and this Detyen warrior has decided that he won't undergo the soulless transition in order to give a few more years to the Detyen Legion. Instead he's keep searching for his denya, and die at 30 if she doesn't appear. He's resigned to his fate, when he encounters Laurel. They're both prisoners of a ruthless Oscaviasn scientist, one who has some connection to the destruction of Detya, and who is now seemingly targeting Earth. How they got there is backstory from the first 3 Detyen Warriors novels, so; no, this isn't really a standalone. Suffice it to say, the sweet slow burn of Dru and Laurel's love story is classic Kate Rudolph - her Detyen hero is alpha but not A-hole, her human heroine is battered and confused, but not witless or defenseless, and they make the perfect team to defeat all obstacles and reach HEA. The crazy action and the chilling suspense of their journey is also classic Kate Rudolph, as is the ever-closer climax of the series plot which hangs over the book like the sword of Damocles. Steamy romance, honor and forgiveness against a brilliant backdrop of action and suspense - this episode of the Detyen saga is faultlessly done.

Cool setup for the story and I like the opening of Laurel and Dru already in the thick of things. Like how they meet and help each other, and of course, the sweet denya/mate bond. If you read the previous books; which I recommend doing before this one because of carried over storylines, you know Laurel and some other women were recently rescued after they were kidnapped and made slaves. Laurel was somehow separated from the other women; Laurel awakens disoriented on a spaceship, an unknown alien says he rescued her. She’s very unsure of trusting anyone; especially when she finds another alien being experimented on. Dru is that alien being experimented on, and is surprised to find his mate in such a dangerous environment. These two need to find a way to escape, but there is a lot against them. Laurel puts on a brave face, but she’s a bit of a mess; she has been through the wringer. Loved the action and adventure! The romance is sweet and passionate. Not a fan of Laurel being a bit of a brat about the whole denya/mate thing. She’s had a lot of bad done to her, but it doesn’t mean she should be rude to those who are trying to help and love her. Still liked her though, and Dru is a total sweetie. It’s great to have the other aliens from the previous books working together to take down those evil aliens. Excited for the next book! There’s still bad guys to be taken out and Earth to be saved!

Rescued by a research doctor and in the healing process, Laurel's mental state has been kept in a slightly confused fog that dulls her feelings slightly, but screams of trauma are a catalyst to get her to explore and to question the goodwill of her rescuer. And Laurel's kindness serves as the catalyst to encourage a Deyten warrior to plan an escape with her. But Laurel isn't well enough, and there's a lot more they have to learn about the doctor's plans before they can leave. Laurel's exploration of her memories and the ship she temporarily reside on are natural yet tense and engrossing. There's something slightly off about her, both in her behavior and thought process. But the more like herself she becomes, the more she has to come to terms what has happened to her, and how she has changed, and her new friend claiming they are forever-mates while they each cope with their trauma in their own way. And the fact that just because you want to destroy humanity doesn't mean you can't be obsessed with a human!

I also appreciated Laurel's description of her head feeling better for the first time, which she describes as feeling like floating. I've never not had a migraine, and I've always imagined a pain-free head to feel like floating in a swimming pool.

Laurel's escape and what it means for Earth.
by sewsummore

Laurel had been abducted from Earth by slavers only to fall into the hands of Brakley Varrow, an Oscavian doctor and hated enemy of the Detyens. While recovering from an operation to remove a mind control chip from her brain she discovers Druath, a Deyten Warrior who was being tortured by the same man in the same spaceship. Eventually Laurel was able to escape together with the warrior and flew to the Detyen Home Base. However, three days later they are forced to abandon their base and evacuate to Earth. Dru had been drawn to Laurel from the beginning and as they spent more time together he realized she was his true mate. When he spoke of this to Laurel, she freaked out and tried to avoid him at all cost. This was an exciting story of fated love and devotion, Dru refused to tell laurel the cost of her refusing his mating but eventually she learned of it and despite his initial refusal they mated. The time spent apart from Dru made Laurel realize that he was the only person she felt truly safe with and mating him was what she wanted most of all. This book had more surprises in store for the reader, the threat of invasion and Varrow's reappearance of Earth just some of the events to fear before this series ends.

I recommend this series to anyone who likes aliens who are dedicated to doing everything possible to protect, love and make their mate happy. It amkes me wish that I could find a Detyen of my own.
Laurel awoke not remembering anything after she was kidnapped from earth. An Oscavian doctor told her that she had a control chip embedded in her head and that he saves her. He also told her that all of her friends were dead.
Dru was taken from the Denyen warrior base at the same time as Lauren, but they were kept seperate. He was held down and experimented on by scientists and a doctor. They didn't know what other until she hears his screams. When he first saw her he knew she was his Denya.
She was told that they were trying to heal her, but she wasn't sure. When she heard the plans to destroy the Detyen outpost, she tried to figure out how to save them.
There was quite a bit of intrigue in this book. Laurel went through lots of ups and downs in this story as her memory started to come back.
Can the Detyens as well as Earth be saved from the machinations of the Oscavian and their allies?

Laurel was left behind when the other girls were rescued. They could no longer trust her as she had a chip implanted in her head and was being controlled. Whilst this was not really her fault, the girls can't seem to separate her from her forced actions.

When she awakens in a room she is told that she is being treated for the implant and that they saved her. But when she stumbles across an alien prisoner being tortured, she no longer knows who to believe.

Dru was captured along with Laurel and when he sees that she is improving health wise, he is determined to hold out against his torture until she is 100% and they have located the tool they need to be able to get the shuttle loose. But when crunch time comes, they flee and now the race is on to beat the bad guys to Earth and meet up with the other girls.

Losts of twists and turns. You really feel for Laurel as her brain has been messed with and she doesn't know what way is up. Her only anchor is Dru and he is intensely protective and wants to save her rom her fellow abductees, her own lapses of memory and most of all him!

Faultless-Detyen Warriors 9

I loved Dru's and Laurels story. So much action and kidnapping and space flight. Good grief. Boy those Varrow brothers were sure good evil evil brothers. Varrow the scientist was a weasley little man with an huge Napoleon complex. He tortured and thought he was so great. Couldn't toot his own horn enough. I kept picturing him as a purple Scabbers from Harry Potter.
Laurel sure ran Dru around for a merry chase. Considering what she'd been through I can understand why. Of course the merrier the chase the better winning will be. Quinn didn't hesitate at all and that couples situation was more difficult being he had been one of the soulless. Great story. Lots to keep one up and going. I read through the night again. The only thing I didn't care for was the ending. It kinda leaves us with a cliff hangar. I hate that. The others left us with a continuing story but this one just leaves off.... I hope there is a next book real soon and ready to go.

When I started reading this story the dichotomy of what was happening to Laurel and Dru had me very intrigued and I was wondering what would happen next. Unfortunately things after a bit went into full on angst mode and stayed there for a good portion of the book.

Both Laurel and Dru underwent some serious torture at different times. The author does gloss over that Laurel also underwent sexual trauma since she was abducted and implanted with a controller, it’s casually mentioned. So totally understand why Laurel would be a bit hesitant and have trust issues but after a while it just got very old. Once they hit earth it became like a badly acted sci-fi movie, everything became predictable and that initial interest I had went away quickly.

Plus the ending is a bit of a cliff hanger.

Another great story!

This series never gets old! The stories all have an underlying end goal, but each book is its own plot and action packed adventure! The characters are really well written. This story is about the 12th survivor from the very first story- the one that had a mind control chip. She was left to die during a battle by her own people. Both our hero (who selflessly volunteered to stay behind during the same battle so his crew could escape), and our heroine have to overcome kidnapping, torture, attacks, suspicion, and strong personal challenges to finally come to the end of the book whole in mind, and strong in spirit. The bond between them is tenuous but withstands a lot. In the end, there are still loose ends, just like in real life, but they finally come to a happy place. I highly recommend!

... and now we discover Laurel's part of the story...

In previous stories, we have had references to Laurel, and concern about her... but now we get her story, and discover that while she only knows a fraction of her story, in some respects that means she is left to fear the worst, and without knowing the details, to feel responsible for actions that may or may not have been her responsibility.

Fortunately, there is a Detyen Warrior who doesn't just love her... he will do ANYTHING, endure anything, to help her heal and move forward.

I loved the characters in this... because they are growing, evolving and discovering... even as the overall plot of this series is moving forward.

Well written story full of action, danger and sizzling chemistry

I really enjoyed getting the background story on Laurel and all the hardship she endured. The fact that Dru suffers tortuous experimentation evens the playing field a bit, I think, in making them a great match. She's brave but full of confusion, pain and self hate. Dru, surprised to find his denya in such a horrible place, does everything he can to make sure she's as healed as she can be before they attempt to flee Yarrow's ship. What follows is an exciting escape, fraught with danger, a stalker, bossy siblings and a steamy romance. I really enjoyed how everything unfolded and that we get some closure for the past.

This is a really good story! Full of action, suspense, danger, pain and steam! I really love the main characters! Laurel and Dru are so great! The heat is off the charts between these two! Although this is book 4 in the series it can be read as a stand alone read. The author does a good job with back history so you don't feel like you missed anything. However, to understand the the Detyens and the mystery of why Detya was destroyed you need to read them in order. Their is an underlying plot and common threat in all of the stories. I cannot wait to read "Endlesss", to see what next in store for the Detyens' and their mates.

To carry-on for the future, Drew was not sure how he was going to manage. His Denya.k.a. mate Was captured on the ship with him. They were above uses lab experiments but she had the free reign of the ship. Eventually they escaped. But the question is now how can he won his people and save the rest of his race but his Danielle was still in pain from some of the experiments? And of course she’s not excepting that she is his mate. Whew! Good read good information nice how things come together less or more. Have fun reading the book.

This is book four in a series and I have not read the others although I am now interested in doing so. Laurel wakes on a strange space ship without a lot of memories. The doctor seems to be concerned about her healing. Dru happens to be on the same ship but is being tortured. She hears his screams and finds him in an area of the ship she isn’t supposed to enter. There is excitement and emotions and we wonder if the happy ever after is going to happen. Even though it seemed as if more time was spent on Laurel, Dru was a more sympathetic character. I enjoyed reading this book.

Faultless out of all the Detyen books I’ve read had me hooked the hardest. Laurel has already been through the ringer and now finds herself under the care of a stranger on a ship. When she runs into Dru, she knows that she has to do something. She isn’t a super agent but she can’t just leave things as they are. As the action and story progresses, things get a lot more complicated for both Laurel and Dru. You could practically feel the angst while the twists were happening. I really enjoyed the plot, the drama and the romance in Faultless.

I have only read this book in the series and it's got enough stand alone elements that I didn't feel totally lost but I really prefer to read a series in order so it felt a little disjointed at times. I liked the slow burn love story in this story and I felt that she had a need to be redeemed for actions in the previous books. At times I didn't understand her weird attitude but I still rooted for them to get their HEA.

I feel like we getting closer to the end.
The main plot of the series dragged me in and has kept my attention tightly focused. My brain has seemed to be on the edge of its seat during each book. But then you add in the already complicated loves of Druath and Laurel, and a whole other level of on the edge of your seat begins. I would highly recommend this book and this series.
Happy reafing!

These detyens are one of a kind. Honorable even when death is looming, never settling for second best and that what I loved about them.

Funny how Dru met his denya, Laurel. They were prisoners in a ship, part of a science experiment of a mad Oscavian scientist. Both escape back to earth, but danger followed them and it wants Laurel back. And as a detyen, he will never stop until he has her back and the denya bond will lead him to her.

So awesome, that denya bond.

I love this series. There are so many twist and turns in each book that you get caught up in each story. Laurel has been left behind because of a chip that had been implanted when they other girls get rescued. She starting to heal but she hears screams of torture so she doesn't know who or what to believe. Dru is holding on as best he can so that Laurel heals more before they escape and flee and race to earth before the bad dudes get there. Great story. I am not sure that I even know where to begin writing a review for this because it is truly an awesome experience.

The author did such a great job developing the characters, that I feel like I really know them, and not just the major two characters, but the minor ones too.

I loved everything about it - the characters, the plot, the emotion, the writing, and the ability that the author had to tell me a story that had me wanting this book to go on and on.

This is the story of Laurel and Druath. They both end up on a ship but there is a bit of mystery as to how they ended up there. Plus the fact that Laurel is not supposed to know he is on board. The story was full of a mystery or two, unknowns and what a person can do to overcome bad things. It was fun to read and entertaining. I liked the bit of mystery as It kept me reading just to see what was really going on, what was hidden in the past and how crazy the "good" doctor would end up being. I loved watching Laurel and Druath come together and overcome it all. Just a wild story.

Varrow has Dru as a prisoner on his ship and was performing experiments on him. He also had Laurel on his ship but he told her he had rescued her. She happened upon Dru and even though he was a soulless he recognized her as his Denya, his true mate. Laurel and Dru escaped but that was the beginning of her running from her big warrior because she was in denial. Then she got in more trouble with Varrow. Interesting and exciting story
