After her long-time taekwondo instructor passes away suddenly, Jodie Price is certain her dreams of Olympic glory have been dashed, and she is thrilled when bold, handsome coach Dylan Atkins offers his help. But Dylan's training regimen will be more rigorous than anything Jodie has experienced before, and she quickly discovers that he is a firm believer in strict discipline.

When she is caught drinking in defiance of Dylan's rules, Jodie soon finds herself sobbing and promising to do better as she is thoroughly paddled. Dylan's stern correction arouses her deeply, however, and it isn't long before he takes her in his arms and masters her completely. But though his skilled, dominant lovemaking leaves her utterly spent and satisfied, will Jodie trust him enough to tell him the truth when a powerful sponsor tries to use their romance to blackmail her?

Until 2010, Ashe was a director of a regeneration company before deciding there had to be more to life and leaving to pursue a lifetime goal of self-employment.

Ashe has been an avid reader of erotic romance for many years—historical, contemporary, fantasy—you name it. Now, at last in control of her own time and working from her home in rural West Yorkshire, she has been able to realise her dream of writing sexy and compelling stories herself.

She draws on settings and anecdotes from her previous and current experience to lend colour, detail and realism to her plots and characters, but her stories of love, challenge, resilience and compassion are the conjurings of her own imagination. She loves to craft strong, enigmatic men and bright, sassy women to give them a hard time—in every sense of the word.

When she’s not writing, Ashe’s time is monopolised by her role as grandma to a lively toddler. She shares her writing space with a tortoise called Teefer.

I have to be honest. I could not get into this story. The characters were hard to connect with for me. But that will not stop me from reading other stories from Ashe Barker.

Jodie dreams of going to the Olympics and thinks they are gone, until her new trainer Dylan, says he knows she has the dream and he wants to help her make it reality and they have a meeting with a sponsor on Monday, but that he requires dedication and follow rules he sets out.
Jodie knows she attracted to Dylan, what she didn’t know what that he was a Dom, and, realises that he set out two rules for her no drinking and not out late, when she sees him in the club, Dylan lets her know that she needs to learn a lesson and it won’t be fun.
Dylan wants to keep their relationship professional, as she’s his student. As much as they try to deny what’s between them they can’t, and Dylan agrees to go slow, but lets Jodie know he’s a strict Dom, and when he lets her know that if it interferes with her training it will stop.
With everything going well, it starts to fall apart when Jodie’s sponsor decides to blackmail her, threatening both Dylan’s career and her chance at the Olympics. Jodie fights with herself not wanting to ruin her or Dylan’s career, and the need to tell her Dom the truth.
Dylan knows something is wrong with Jodie but no punishment he does, gets her to talk to him, leaving him no choice but to think he’s missed something and the training and their relationship is too much on her.
When Dylan overhears something, everything starts to make sense, but can he get Jodie to realise that or will he lose the one thing he doesn’t want.

A Taekwondo romance filled with passion, agility and tons of spankings!

The Master by Ashe Barker and Katy Swann will capture you immensely! Both authors wrote and collaborated this story beautifully to a point where you couldn't look away nor put it down for a second.

Jodi Price's dream is to make it to the Olympics in Taekwondo and her coach Dylan Atkins has the determination and skill to get her there. All they need is a hefty sponsorship and they are all set, however, the contract is not all black and white. Is Jodi up for the task? All along the coach and athlete relationship takes a spin into new territory bringing a side of BDSM into the mix. Can Jodi's heart stay intact through the training or get in the way and hinder her chances for the Gold?

I really enjoyed this novel. This duo authors did their research on this sport, it captured me from the beginning. It really was a breath of fresh air. Not only about the sport element but the chemistry between Jodi and Dylan was on point and seriously flaming hot! The Master has wondrous shades of spankings, different levels I would say for different punishments and each one were sinister and steamy!

If you like sports romances with a dose of BDSM elements and a side of suspense... then pick up The Master today!

Sports readers and BDSM lovers will enjoy this fast paced read laced with mystery!

The Master follows Jodie who is set for Olympic stardom. With the right sponsor and Dylan as her Master she is sure to reach her Olympic goals. All is not as easy as she had anticipated because someone wants to derail her plans right from the start, but her Olympic dreams aren't the only thing on the line. A new relationship with her Master is also on shaky ground as they navigate through the beginning of their relationship and the secrets that Jodie is keeping.

Really enjoyed this story as it was a fairly quick read. This story took me a little over 4 hours to read but honestly felt like no time at all as I was pulled in fairly quickly and my attention was mostly held throughout. Giving this story 4 stars only because Jodie's main kink is spanking and while as a reader I love a little spanking there just didn't seem to be much depth to Dylan and Jodie. I would have liked to see a little more diversity in their BDSM relationship. Him pushing her to try new things etc. Regardless of this, the story was well written and executed really well. I would not be adverse to reading another story by this duo or individually.

A collaboration from Ashe barker and Katy Swann and it is a story of Olympic hopeful Jodi and her journey to the top and her relationship with her trainer Dylan.

It is a fast paced story with a big twist that I didn't see coming at all. It surprised me.

I liked Jodi, she was young, but acted mature for her ages most of the time. She was very dedicated and serious about her dream.

I liked Dylan, he was consistent and acted in Jodi´s best interest. I enjoyed their dynamic.

I enjoyed the book

Jodi dreams of Olympic glory in taekwando, but needs a new coach.
She also dreams of finding the perfect Dom.

What happens when one man, Dylan, can fulfill both roles?

Jodi should be happy, her training is going well, her relationship with Dylan is going well, so why is she miserable and tetchy?

She is being blackmailed by her sponsor.

What follows is a steamy read with realistic BDSM scenes, lots of tension, Jodi almost missing out on her dream, and a surprise twist.

The plot is well paced and the characters are strong, and believable.

This is definitely a 5* read!

I loved the intensity of this book. From the romance, the competition, and even the side drama, the authors go all out from the first page to the last. The characters are likeable and work well together. I loved the drama of the competition, and the bit of mystery surrounding Jodie's sponsor keeps it interesting until the end. The authors seem to work well together and I hope we get more from them in the future.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This Book was a surprise. I normally don't like to read about 19 year old characters, but even when Jodi was not making the best choices, you could easily forget she was so young.

Dylan and Jodi's relationship was complicated by him being both her coach and her Dom. Especially when trust issues were brought to the forefront.

There were also a number of twists in this Taekwondo, D/s, and blackmail mystery. Fast paced and intriguing. Well worth a read.

The Master

Jodie's new coach is dominant, stern and believes in the hands on approach. Dylan catches her breaking the rules and his correction brings her to tears. This is a fast paced, steamy, hot read. I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an advanced reader copy.

An enjoyable read. This story has a little bit of everything; suspense, romance, spanking, sexy heat and bdsm. I don’t know much about Taekwondo but that does not interfere with the story. The authors intertwine enough information while the story continues to move forward. If you like a suspenseful story that is a romance too, don’t miss this book.

I liked that the characters were both strong and determined. I liked that they were working towards a goal. I also liked that the main character wasn't a doormat. I would have liked it to have been a little longer so that the resolutions wouldn't feel so fast and rushed. How she was blackmailed, how it was revealed etc.
