Dear FBI My name is Francis. I’m a Serial Killer……. Six different families murdered. Every murder different from the last. A killer never captured.
Note to Readers: This book is a collection of letters to an FBI agent. When read in order, they tell a tale of getting away with murder for over 50 years.
Chloe was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1994. She is a wife to Tom & a wonderful mother to 2 little boys, Edward & Harry.
Chloe's passion for writing has always been with her; throughout school, she would ace English & storytelling. It wasn't until she became a book blogger for authors back in 2015/2016 that she discovered her own characters, begging for their story to be told. The Precious Trilogy was born in 2016 and was published a year later. C. Renee pen name is home to her romance stories. Genres will include suspense, contemporary, historical, murder mystery, etc.
Chloe O'Connor pen name was born in 2024. Writing her first fantasy, she knew it was like coming home. Fantasy will always have Chloe's heart, and writing the magical worlds will be her number 1 passion.
Warning to readers: This is not a novel. It's not a book. It's fifty pages of 'notes'. You may notice I've not rated any of this author's writing highly. I think C Renee sure has potential and I do keep giving chances to see if the author has matured.
My Final Confession is about Francis who sends letters to the FBI telling them about murders she's committed. It reads a draft or list of details the author is going to use for a story but has decided to put into a book format and sell. The genre states it is a thriller and murder mystery although there's no mystery and nothing thrilling.
Pros: this is a short... series of letters? 25 minute read.
Cons: bear with me on this, ok? 1. The cover is woeful. If you want to be taken seriously as an author put some effort into your cover. 2. Spelling and grammar once again. As with all C Renee's books, spelling and grammar is an issue. Breath instead of breathe Wandering instead of wondering Grammatical errors among other things 3. Massive lack of detail. So much could have been done with this and it feels like C Renee rushed it and wanted to put minimal effort into the 'story' to push out yet another subpar book. 4. I actually hate to say this-it was boring. The letters are boring. There's no substance, no feeling for any of the characters at all. 5. The constant back and forth between past and present POVs. 6. The price. I'm annoyed I spent money this now. The quality is not there.
Overall: I wasn't at any time shocked or pulled into the story. I didn't feel for any of the characters. There's no real detail about-well... anything. There wasn't a moment of shock/horror when there was mention of animals and children being killed because it wasn't a story. It's fifty or so pages of words. The ending wasn't shocking as some reviewers have mentioned-Once I discovered she had a son it was obvious she was
If you enjoy quick short reads in the format of notes and you're not concerned about the amount of detail perhaps you'd enjoy it like other reviewers have.
Not quite what I was expecting, but I like the idea behind it. It definitely grabbed me in the first chapter, but then it kind of meandered until the end where there was a nice twist. I do love a good plot twist!
My Final Confession is a collection of letters from Francis, a woman who has killed many people over the years without being caught. In her dying days, she decides to stake her claim to these unsolved murders by laying everything bare for the FBI agent to see.
I think it's a great premise, but for me, there wasn't enough story depth to grab me and keep me invested. I need to feel a connection with the characters to be able to be on the edge of my seat, wondering what will happen. I would have liked to get to know some of them before witnessing the murders, and perhaps have those be more in depth too. I feel like a murderer wanting to claim the murders would perhaps be a little more proud and therefore more descriptive on what went down. But that's just my opinion.
My Final Confession by C. Renee was a good, quick, and suspenseful read. It is a series of letters between a female serial killer and the FBI where she confesses her crimes that span the course of decades. It's unlike anything I have read before and was a little choppy for me - predominately due to the letter style of the writing. It is a very short story and you can read it in one pass. It was also a little challenging to read because it was graphic. I am one of those people who love to watch horror movies; Yet, when I read, my mind takes over differently and is a great deal more active. My Final Confession is definitely a departure from C. Renee's usual style of writing as it is in no way a romance, but that is not a negative - in reality, she wrote this very well and I think she crossed genres superbly. I look forward to reading more of her work soon!
So this book was extremely different than what I usually read and was unexpected from this author. I am a criminal justice person and listen to true crime stories all the time. While I know this isn’t true it was slightly disturbing the details that were included. This was not a bedtime read, more like a middle of the day with dogs beside you read. It was short but good and well written.
I absolutely was not expecting the ending by ANY means! That completely shocked me and it’s not easy to do that.
Book Review: My Final Confession Author: C. Renee FIVE STARS A short story, many would call it a novella, but I am honestly at a loss as what to actually call it. This is a series of letters that are written by the main character to the FBI. Going into detail about crimes that were committed and have been unsolved through many decades. This book was facinating to read. Hope you enjoy it. Definately different than anything that I could have expected. Especially LOVED the twist at the end. Kelli Harper
A departure, from what we're used to, from C. Renee, but a good departure.
You know, from the cover, it's not a love story, but it kind of is. There is love, there is boy meets girl, just not necessarily the "happily ever after" some people are after.
Francis is a force to be reckoned with. She has a story, that will shock you, until the very end.
Great story, just remind me to be careful with my jewelry selection.
This was like nothing I have ever read before. It was such a unique story that I could not stop reading. It focused on letters from a serial killer to an FBI agent dictating their crimes. I was sucked in from the beginning and definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of crime stories. And the twists make it even better.
What a unique story, so different to anything I’ve read before. I didn’t see the surprise at the end coming which made the ending perfect for this story. If you like murder and mystery, you’ll love My Final Confession.
this book was really different from the other books of yours i read! she has gotten away with several murders over the years and finally wants the FBI to know she did them. only you wont believe what happens in the end.
It was like reading an episode of criminal minds. Crazy and unique. In my mind of a serial killer that you would never suspect. The twists were unexpected. There was one aspect that I , personally, wasn’t a fan of which is why I rated 4 stars but overall a great quick read.
This book was definitely different then what I'm used to but it was a very good and interesting book. It's letter from a serial killer to an FBI agent. It really is a page Turner. A must read!!
This book had one heck of an opening and definitely caught my attention. Although, that’s where the excitement ended for me. I went into this book expecting a story and that isn’t what I got. This book is simply a collection of letters from a serial killer to an FBI Agent. The concept is one that is very interesting, I just would have appreciated some story in between the letters. I could see so much potential for this book but it just wasn’t realised.
