Rate this book
War had left him a changed man. Could she be the one to heal him?

Wounded war hero Captain Wolf Sinclair has recovered physically from the hell he endured fighting for his country, but in his head, he still exists in the dark. Living among a big, boisterous family allows him somewhere to hide, until the day Rose Abernethy storms into his life. She challenges him, makes him feel again. Soon he’s addicted to her touch, and her kisses have him wanting more. But danger stalks her, and Wolf realizes he must keep her safe because in Rose he’s found someone to bring him into the light.

Rose is a runaway. The life she’d always known changed with the death of her aunt, and she was forced to flee Scotland. She chose the big city of London to hide in. But hiding isn’t an option when your life is in danger, and the big, handsome Captain Sinclair becomes your guardian angel. She battles her growing need for the man who is from a different world. A world where money and status are everything. The closer she gets to him, the more she realizes he’s fighting demons, and Rose knows that helping him heal is important to her, especially as she’s given him her heart.

I have been waiting for this one all Summer long! And it didn't disappoint. This whole Victorian series with PNR twist has been wonderful! The story goes that there lived two families - Ravens and Sinclairs. Once a Sinclair saved a Raven, and the King declared that Sinclairs would always guard Ravens. So, come Victorian time, and here we have a loud boisterous family full of siblings who love each other and ignore traditions and make their own way in life. But that is no ordinary family. Their senses are enhanced - smell, vision, taste, touch and hearing. Each sibling has their own set of issues to deal with. But there are cousins who have the same gift or curse - it depends on how you look at it.

Captain Christian "Wolf" Sinclair is a war hero. But he has changed. He is not that light-hearted and carefree man he used to be. He is haunted by war demons. (in modern world it would be described as PTSD and flashbacks) He keeps everyone at bay and does not want to saddle a woman with his burdens. But one day he sees a woman who turns his life upside down and makes him feel alive. He denies attraction, but the Fate has other plans for him.

Rose Abernethy fled Scotland to escape her lecherous cousin. ( there is always someone lecherous in Victorian time, don't they have better things to do?) She is independent, stubborn, fierce and very beautiful. But it seems that misfortune and trouble keep following her, and just when she feels fear creep in our dashing hero sweeps in to save her.

From then on there are plenty attempts to hurt her, plenty banter and Victorian sense of humor, plenty honorable men and strong women who have their husbands wrapped around their fingers, and the spirit of family. I loved Sinclair and Raven families, how close their are, how unconventional and smart they bring their young siblings up to be.

There was mystery of Rose's birth and of who was trying to get rid of her. The ending was a spectacular swashbuckling rescue of a damsel in distress, many heartfelt confessions and a lovely wedding. Everybody was happy, and so was I! I loved this book! I highly recommend it!

Oh dear. If Wolf said it once he said it a thousand times: the difference in our stations makes it impossible. Well then walk away, buddy. Honestly I was over his snobbishness. Nowhere near as witty or charming as Seeing Danger hero Devon. Disappointing 1.5 stars.

Wonderful reading! This is definitely my favorite in this series. I love Wendy Vella and I loved all of her books that I have read.
This book has romance, suspense and many cute moments.
Among other things I loved in this book was how this wonderful family is close to each other. This book has all it takes to be a good read and Captain Wolf Sinclair is one of my all time favorite heroes now.

Enhanced senses

And hundreds of years of history help shape the lives of another Sinclair. Rose ran into Wolf, while chasing a thief. It certainly set a pattern for them.

Love it

It was well written and a page turner. This story is about Wolf, the cousin of the Sinclairs. Rose is from Scotland and just just trying to survive in London after running away from her cousin. They ended up meeting when Rose is running after a man who has stolen her money and Wolf ends up saving her.

This is a great series that I really enjoy. This story centres around Wolf, one of the Sinclairs. He like the other family members has special gifts. Wolf has his problems due to his recent activities in the war. Wolf comes into contact with Rose due to a number of factors. Rose and Wolf have an attraction but are from different stations in society. I loved the interaction and banter between the family and how loving and caring of each other they were. Of course, there is a threat of danger, which they must all work together to discover where it is coming from. An enthralling read.

Rating: R for sex
Sex: 1 scene, another alluded to
Language: frequent Lord's name in vain
Violence: fights, kidnapping, arson, attempted murder
HEA or Cliffhanger: HEA
Do I need to read books before this one: yes
Would I read more of the series: yes

I love how this author keeps the whole family involved in the stories. The Sinclair family unit is a critical part of the stories, and I enjoy the continuity. She does a great job with keeping all the characters unique, the plot interesting, and the pacing good.

----SPOILERS----
Wolf suffers from nightmares due to the last month of his army service (recently returned from another tour). He also has an injured thigh. On the way to his solicitors, he sees a woman chasing after a man, and he follows. The woman yells at the man to give her back her money, and Wolf sees that it is done. He admonishes her for not taking her safety into account. She's about to rescue a cat off a very iffy roof, so he telepathically tells the cat to come down. She is his exact same color.

Wolf then goes to visit Cam and Emily at newspaper. Eden is proposing a fashion section, and Warwick, now 12, backs her up. Emily is 8 months pregnant. Wolf just bought more land as investment for farming techniques has been reading up on, as well as wool production. Cam comes over to smell him, and smells a woman. Wolf fixes the printing press.

Rose Abernathy, a Scotswoman, gets home; makes the landlord's son, Rupert Putt, unhand her; and tells her roommate, Kitty Dodds, about her day. We learn her aunt reared her, and when her aunt died, her cousin tried to rape her, so she left. She has a new job starting tomorrow as a piano teacher. She and Kitty perform music for veterans, and she takes the violin her aunt left her. Wolf is there. She's a wonderful musician, and her music dims the blackness within him. She is passionate about helping veterans.

Two weeks later, Wolf spends the night at Dev's at the 4 younger's request. They helped heal him when he came home wounded. They have breakfast at James's and Eden's house to celebrate the anniversary of his return. Dev and Lilly have Mathew and Hannah, Eden and James have Isabella and Simon, and Max and Essie have Luke. The adults bicker over the last piece of cake, then go to listen to Samantha perform. She has a new piano teacher. It's Rose. Rose feels uncomfortable with so many titled people and leaves.

A few days later, all the men go to a house for sale on the road they all live on. Wolf decides to lease it. Then they go to the scary part of London for a meal, and encounter Rose and Kitty. Someone has ahold of Kitty, and Wolf fights for her. When the bad guy pulls a knife, Rose jumps on his back. Wolf finishes the fight, then goes after Rose. Dev alerts Wolf to an archer, and he takes Rose to the ground and covers her body.

The men leave that area and go investigate a mill and house. Wolf likes to take apart and repair machinery. Noise sets off his PTSD, though. The veterans could run the business. He meets a little, homeless, hurt dog. Apollo, Wolf's horse, wants to keep it. They name it Hephaestus, Hep for short.

While grocery shopping, Rose bumps into Eden. Eden tells her Wolf carries demons from war. Rose leaves, going home, but gets lured into a house by someone needing help. Not really, they wanted her. She screamed and held two men off until Wolf, James, and Eden arrive. They subdue the men with Whiskers's help, then they take her home. Rose wonders why she's had nothing but trouble since coming to London, and wonders if it's Herbert, her cousin. Wolf kisses her, then Whiskers wants her to thank him.

Later, Wolf and Cam go to interrogate the two men who attempted to hurt Rose. The police have already let them go. Wolf goes home and feels a sense of danger. Rose is walking to give piano lessons, and goes through the park behind their houses. The 4 youngers meet her there, then the maid comes running because Emily has gone into labor in the park. Luckily Rose's aunt taught her midwifery and music. Essie and Rose assist Emily while the men are in the study. Emily has postpartum hemorrhaging, they circle to heal her, and Rose is watching. It's a girl, Elizabeth. Rose runs away, and Wolf follows. Rose had noticed that all the bleeding had sparked a memory of war in his eyes. She felt the magic that they do as a security blanket of love. He kisses her and touches her breast. But she struggles with the difference in classes. They go to the study to meet with James, Eden, Dev, and Max. They give her the low down on their senses, and she thinks they're gifts.

Eleven days later, the 4 youngers visit Wolf, telling him Rose hasn't come back. He goes to see her. He meets Rupert (landlord) and isn't impressed. Endeavoring to get her to come back to teach, he reveals part of his war experience (as well as ridiculous stories about the youngers starting a revolt against all instruction and not eating). He says the Duke wants to have a benefit concert for veterans and her to play in it. Now he's gotta tell James. Who conveniently shows up on the doorstep with the same mission as Wolf. Rupert is rude, and his mother takes him to task because it's a duke. Kitty show up, and Wolf invites them both to the theater. Wolf and James start to leave, then Wolf goes back in to give Rupert money for her rent and to have the roof fixed.

At the theater, an actor sees Rose in the audience and struggles with his role. James had convinced Wolf to get them tickets on the floor rather than in his box so they'd be comfortable enough to enjoy the show. At intermission, James and Wolf go down to get refreshments for the ladies, they stop a fight, then talk to Kitty and Rose. Rose leaves to get Kitty some refreshments, and Wolf is uneasy and needs to follow. James takes Kitty to the box. Rose is backstage at the actor's request. Wolf is livid she is alone and unsafe. The actors say she is a mirror of a famous actress, Lavinia Smyth, who was there years ago, then left and died with her baby. Not only does she have the same hair color, but she has the eyes of two different colors. Also, all Smyth women have a birthmark of wings on the left shoulder. Rose has that birthmark. She's upset because she thinks her life has been a lie. Wolf says he will help her get the facts. She kisses him. They go to the Duke's box, the play finishes, and she and Kitty get a ride home with their neighbor.

Three days later, Max is visiting Beth and Emily when James arrives with news that the old Duke may have had a secret marriage, and Mr Spriggot is investigating. As Wolf heads home through the park, he hears a loud boom and has a PTSD reaction. Rose is walking through the park, she hears the booms, and then she sees Hep, the little black dog Wolf adopted. He brings her to a little clearing where Wolf is petrified. She holds him for half an hour, until his terror eases. They kiss with light petting, then she tells him he needs help. He asks to take care of her, and she rejects being his mistress. She leaves the copse and runs into Cam and Essie. She tells them Wolf's symptoms because he's too stubborn to do so. As she goes to her lesson with Warwick, she bumps into somebody she recognizes and figures out Wolf has had her followed her to keep her safe. She confronts him in his home. They have an argument and end up making love on a table. Afterward, he wants to marry her but she wants to leave London. It's a fight because he neither speaks of nor shows emotion. She also pulls the difference in their births. She runs away.

Four days later, James, Dev, Wolf, Cam, Max, and Eden have inspected the mill and are riding home. Max shares some of his war experiences, then they discuss the upcoming concert. They also discuss Rose and the investigation into the old Duke's secret marriage. Then they all sense fire, including Apollo. It's Rose's house. Wolf rescues her, then the roof caves in.

Rose is in Essie's house to heal, as is Kitty. Wolf rode home holding with her, needing to keep her safe. The fire revealed to both of them how they feel about the other. James calls a meeting, saying they had secured boxes of stuff from the old Duke's steward, Breel, and asking for help going through them.

Wolf proposes again, and they're interrupted by Kitty. Kitty, Rose, Eden, and Essie plan what they're doing for the benefit concert tomorrow, both music and dress.

At the concert, Rose shows Wolf in her eyes how she feels. She still tries to get away after the music because she's not nobility and shouldn't mingle. They tell each other how they feel. Then a man shows up, claiming to be her husband. It's Herbert, the cousin. He has a marriage certificate. Wolf feels betrayed. Everyone else believes Rose.

The next morning, Rose isn't awake to apologize to, so Wolf goes to James's house, apologizes to James and Max, and helps sort those papers. James finds evidence his father had a secret marriage to Lavinia Smyth. They go to find Breel, the steward, and run into Herbert. They get him to confess that Rose is not his wife, is not his true cousin, and that someone approached him with the documentation. Wolf scares him out of London. They confront Breel in his home, and James forces him to confess Rose is James's sister. Breel is the one who try to have her abducted, shot with an arrow, and lured away from London with the offer of a job in the country, though she had no references. He also set fire to the house, as well as providing Herbert with false documentation. Wolf senses danger, they go back to their homes, and Rose is gone. They race back to Breel to find out what his last plan was.

Rose is looking for lodging because she has to get away from Wolf, who didn't believe her last night. She walks beside the Thames and rescues a white puppy who is swimming in it. She's immediately kidnapped.

Breel committed suicide. Wolf asks Apollo to find Rose. Hep joins them, having run the whole way from home. Apollo takes them to the docks, and Apollo knocks the guard with the gun at the gangway into the ocean. They all board the ship, and it's the captain that Max took Tiny from. He's holding Rose captive in his cabin with a gun to her head. Wolf tells Hep and a little white dog (Rose's puppy) to bite, which makes the captain drop his gun. Wolf and Rose get on Apollo, Wolf apologizes, and they ride to James's house. James and Max reveal that they are brothers and sister. Her life is turned upside down, but she's thrilled to have a family.

They get married in the chapel at Raven Castle. Kitty and her husband, Mr Trent, are there, along with all the actors who Rose befriended because they knew her mom. At the end of the ceremony, Apollo, Hep, and Zeus burst in; after all, they're family, too.

Vision of Danger

I loved the Sinclair and Raven series. The Vision of danger is no exception. I laughed, cried and was at the edge of my seat while I was reading it. I have read the first five books of the series and plan to read the rest of the books in the series as soon as the books come out. I hope you will enjoy reading this book as much as I did.

Another wonderful book in the series. Loved Wolfs and Roses story. Wolf is still recovering from his injury from the war! With the help of Essie, Lilly and his family he is back to the living. After her Aunts death and threats from her cousin, Rose left in the middle of the night and made her way to London where she works in a tea shop.
When Wolf feels danger he saves Rose. He and his family don’t understand how he felt that she was in danger since she is not a Raven. When her life is threatened several more times Wolf realizes that he has feelings for her. Can Rose overcome her background to marry the man she loves!

Vision Of Danger is a spectacular historical romance by Wendy Vella. Ms. Vella has crafted a well-written story populated with an excellent cast of characters. Captain Wolf Sinclair has recovered from his wounds received during the war. Mostly. Rose had to run away from the home she grew up in after her aunt passed away. Now she is just getting by, barely, when Wolf comes to her aid. Wolf and Rose's story is packed with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I loved this book and look forward to my next book by Wendy Vella. Vision Of Danger is book 5 of the Sinclair and Raven Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

Vision of Danger – (A Sinclair & Raven Novel Book 5) – Wendy Vella

The Sinclair family was given the job of protecting any member of the House of Raven. All the Sinclair’s have heightened senses, hearing, sight, smell and use of herbs/taste. Book 5 is the story of Wolf Sinclair, cousin to the Sinclair siblings we have already read about and Rose Abernathy, who at face value might not be a Raven, but then again maybe? Who knows?

Wolf Sinclair fought in the war, came home badly injured, fought to keep his leg (now close to being healed) and now and again has nightmares or panic attacks about the battles he fought in especially the last battle.

Rose Abernathy has only really had herself to rely on. She really doesn’t know much about her parents, just that they are both dead and it was her “Aunt” in Edinburgh that raised her. One thing she is sure of, she has a place in the world but that place does not include Society, except maybe to work for a member of society.

Wolf rescues Rose from two men, who appear to be trying to steal her reticule but upon reflection Wolf thinks maybe they were trying to kidnap her. Of course there is something else that worries Wolf. His sense is much like Devon’s heightened sense of seeing colors and knowing when protection is needed. Wolf and Rose are the exact same color, theoretically, that means they are a match, Wolf however, isn’t ready for marriage and certainly not to Miss Abernathy since she loves to put him in his place and tell him how beneath him she is. Double edged sword Miss Abernathy with that beneath him remark. Wolf also can communicate with the animal kingdom. (remember this)

This story is built around Wolf’s continued healing, add that to his family members trying to help him settle himself into regular life which they hope will help him move beyond his other issues. When he isn’t with his extended family he is also in the right spot numerous times to yet again rescue , Rose Abernathy. Is it fate, or is there something they and we don’t know?

As always Wendy Vella gives the reader a birds eye view of the Sinclair and Raven families, their lives, and their dreams and hopes. She has also given us in this book two characters who at the best times manage to give us a well needed laugh. Cam Sinclair has met his match with Wolf as they are both the masters of ribbing, humor and mirth! Right up until the end when it takes all hands, gentlemen and ladies to bring Wolf and Rose together. When they do we also learn who Rose really is. (She had no idea)

Ms. Vella has given us yet another couple and a bridge to a continuation of the Sinclair/Raven family, an extended family, which I certainly enjoy reading about.

Really liked this one too even though it’s clearly got present day values and norms in a historical setting. I usually suspend disbelief better, but the heroine was so conscious of class and her lack of status compared to the hero and his family that I was much more conscious of it as well...and the thing is, though I agreed with the hero and his family’s point of view, and though I really got a bit tired of the heroine’s being so stuck on this one issue, she is actually right. Never, ever in that time period would there have been such open mindedness...I’m not even convinced it exists now in England among those who are titled at the level of a Duke. The heroine calling attention to it made it harder for me to let go of the historical inconsistency of it. But this is most romances written by modern writers about that era. Even when there use historically accurate, they frequently feature high level aristocratic types marrying commoners with nothing. Jane Austen doesn’t do this. Her heroes are misters, and it’s subtle to modern readers but class awareness is all through her novels. She rarely spells it out blatantly because it was so understood back then she didn’t need to. I digress. So it’s something about our current society that we want all our romantic heroes and heroines to be titled. We all long for Cinderella to be real, I guess. So I can’t hold something nearly all romance novels set in this time period do against this one; I just noticed it a bit more in this one than I usually do.

I do like this family...I guess they’re all pretty well blended together 5 books in to the series, but it’s usually the Sinclair family the author will make a short declarative statement about periodically: “Sinclairs all do...” or think whatever, or act, respond, believe whatever. There’s something I love about these short, absolute declarations peppered here and there in the story. Maybe because they’re a little amusing, but I think more likely because they speak to a character knowing who they are and where they come from; who their people are. It’s something as comforting and basic as the glass slipper fitting the right and righteous girl and making the prince deliriously happy to be getting Cinderella even if she is a nobody...he sees she’s actually the best thing ever.

When I was asked to read Vision of Danger to review, despite me not having read any of the others in the series, I figured, why not? It's not something I would normally read, but change can be good. I ended up really enjoying reading it! Though it can be read as a standalone novel, and I agree that is true, I do wish I read the previous four books. I normally would have, but fear of not reading them fast enough before this review was due, was what held me back. But besides the fact that when I read series I have to read in order despite the series that say their books can be standalones, the reason why I would really recommend you reading the previous stories is because of the characters that are a constant presence in the book. They had their own books and stories and I think I would have appreciated them more, knowing who they were and what happened to them. Plus when reading a series, it takes the first few books to remember who everyone is and their personalities. I couldn't keep up and I didn't have the knowledge of knowing who they were to decipher who was who. Lucky for me, I ended up really enjoying this book, so I am now super motivated to read from the beginning!

So this story! Vision of Danger was a great read. I zipped through it pretty quickly and was intrigued the whole way through. And though I was a bit lost not knowing who everyone was, the upside was I was a lot more intrigued to go back and learn about each of them and know their stories. Vision of Danger focuses on Wolf and Rose. Wolf is recovering from his time at war and has a bit of ptsd, though he believes he is getting better. The truth is, he doesn't start to get better until he meets Rose, whose presence changes him and encourages him to remember how to be the man he was before the war. Rose meanwhile has been running to find a place where she is safe and can start a new life. But when trouble follows her to London, it is Wolf who comes to her rescue over and over again. Their connection is undeniable, but both know that it is foolish. Their story was a bit slow, but there is much more going on than either realize. Especially with the legend of the Sinclair and Ravens and their unique abilities. Like I said, there was more than I realized happening and I definitely want to go back to the beginning and learn about it. Really glad I had the opportunity to get an ARC of this book! Looking forward to going back and seeing what future stories are to come.

Vision of Danger is the 5th book in the Sinclair and Raven series. I fell in love with this series and the characters. It has been so hard waiting for the next book! I love all the family members appearing and being involved with the main characters. This is one of those series where you want to start at the first book and read in order, otherwise you might not see all the wit in the dialogue. I love all the cheerful teasing and witty banter between the family members, but how protective and considerate they are of each other. The series reminds me of my family gatherings and the teasing that happens between all of us.

Captain Wolf Sinclair was wounded physically and mentally in the war and he has been home for a year. Physically he has mended but emotionally he has withdrawn from life. He no longer teases or participates in the family banter as he used to. The Sinclair cousins have decided it is time for him to leave the leave the darkness behind and become more involved with life.

Rose Abernethy had arrived in London two months ago from Scotland with little possessions and money. She was working at a tea shop while applying for positions to teach piano lessons. When her money got stolen she pursued the thieves, putting herself in danger. Captain Sinclair rescued her and delivered her home.

Rose and Wolf’s path seemed to cross frequently and he saves her from more dangerous situations. The Sinclair and Raven family begin to think someone could be attempting to harm Rose and wondered if she might somehow be related to the Ravens. Rose and Wolf try to deny the attraction they feel for each other, but fate would not allow it. Wolf is slowly changing and becoming more passionate about life. The Sinclair cousins think it is due to Rose’s influence and encourages him. Can they discover who is trying to hurt Rose and unravel the mystery of her birth?

This is such a great series! The characters are so witty and outspoken it is hard not to fall in love with the family. I can’t wait to see who will be in the next book!

This book is part of a series, which is what I like. I also like the extra powers they have. I like the hero, but, while the heroine is feisty, she is also very stupid. It was not safe for any young pretty girl to walk those streets in London regardless of class. She gets more stupid as the book goes on, going to his residence. The butler reminds her that it is improper to enter a single gentleman's home. Yet instead of giving a message to the butler, she storms in, is it any surprise that she looses her virginity. At the end of the book, the hero then becomes very stupid, when the heroine' cousin who she has already told the hero about turns up claiming to be her husband, The hero has already had sex with her, so knows she was a virgin...yet stupidly believes the lying Cousin just because he has forged paperwork. I like the banter between the family members in this book, which makes up for the mistakes in the plot. The end wasn't a surprise, but, it would of helped if James had been doing more investigation earlier in the book. It is unclear who the aunt really was, and why she never told the heroine the truth, after all even in Scotland she must of seen in the society news that the old Duke was dead, and the new Duke has been looking for his half brothers and sisters to make amends. It was several years after the old Dukes death before the Aunt died. I liked the animals in the book, they added a touch of humour.

Like his cousins, Wolf Sinclair, has been gifted with enhanced senses - he has exceptional sight; the ability to see farther, clearer, and even a person's aura. In addition, he has a connection to animals, a way of communicating that often comes in handy. Wolf is physically on the road to recovery following his war wound; however, emotionally and psychologically he is far from it.

Until he meets Miss Rose Abernathy. Rose is running and continues to find herself in danger though she isn't exactly sure why. Is it coincidence? Is her cousin behind it? These are questions that keep us guessing until the end! But the one constant is Wolf being there to save her each time!

Rose isn't a Raven... but Wolf is drawn to her the way his cousins and their Raven spouses are. Wolf and Rose are continuously fighting their attraction for one another - almost in a pride and prejudice manner. But love truly conquers all!

Ms. Vella has delivered another wonderful story focusing on love and family with just the right amount of suspense and mystery. All is revealed in the end and what a tasty little tid bit it is!

Another highly recommended read in this series - I believe you can read it as a standalone as Ms. Vella always does a great job giving backstory, BUT I 100% recommend this series!

I have been sadly missing out if the rest of the series is as fun and funny as this book was. Romantic suspense has always been one of my favorite reads. This book adds a hint of the pageantry of the era and a touch of the paranormal to bring out a story that I found completely addictive. We get the added bonus of a wounded war hero in the form of Wolf. Military men are my weakness and Wolf is a prime example of the breed: protective and honorable but stoic to a fault. Rose is a spitfire. Fully independent and determined to handle everything for herself. Unfortunately, she had too little regard for her own safety – that drove me just a crazy as it did Wolf. I absolutely adored the Raven and Sinclair families. Watching them all interact with one another was a true highlight for me. I can’t wait to see what’s next for these families. In the meantime, I have a few books to go back and catch up on.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

I decided to read this novel because I had previously truly enjoyed the Regency Rakes series and indeed I confirm that Wendy Vella is a good author.
However, I cannot say I liked this one as much as the ones I read before.
First of all - and this is entirely my fault - there is a supernatural component in the story, and I defintely don't like that in HRs; but again, that's my preference and I should have informed myself better before picking the novel.
Secondly, although from time to time I did enjoy the protagonists' personalities, interactions and relationship, I often found Rose's decision to flee, pretty much every time she interacts with Wolf, quite annoying. Also, why does Wolf need to repeat so many times that Rose and he are from different worlds?
I adored the first time Rose and Wolf meet, the dialogue is great and I was really captivated...I would have loved for the story to keep that style.

Another author’s book a joy to read.

5 stars, because I liked the book so much. For me, the book had everything. It had intrigue, action, humor, with a touch of tasteful sensuality. It caught my interest from first few pages, and held it till HEA end. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. The hero Wolf was so strong, loyal honest, protective, I like him so much. The heroine, Rose was very strong and independent, and I liked her a lot, but both were so stubborn, I got a little impatient with them, at times. Watch for the lovable , and smart animals, they added so much to story, for me. This one book in a series, and I think you would enjoy more, if read in order, because of reoccurring character and something they all share. I would highly recommend, as I do all of author’s books. Can’t wait to start next book.

I am sad to say that book # 5 was a DNF for me. I just could not relate to either of the characters and I decided to skip it or I would not read the 6th book either. Wolf is a very pompous character, more so than even the Duke was in the first book which was why I just could not see him with a woman as Rose, it felt forced somehow. In the other books the characters are around a bit or at least their stories made sense but in this case it was too far fetched (I know this is the “theme” of these books this is why I gave it 4 stars) That insta-attraction that the series is characterised by is not as believable for this couple which was why it took me almost three months to decide to DNF and move on. I rarely DNF books.

Moved on to the next one (own the 4-6 boxset) but I think I will leave it there.

4.5 stars - If you’ve been following this series, you know that there have only been Raven/Sinclair marriages amongst these deeply connected families. Here, Christian Sinclair’s (Wolfe’s) attraction and eventual love for Ms. Abernathy put this trend to the test. As we learn more about the H and h, and witness their growing affection, Ms. Vella serves up adventure, intrigue and sincere familial interactions that make this latest installment all the more enjoyable.

It’s another winner for Ms. Vella and a real treat for the reader.

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Wolf and Rose. They never explained why he went by the name Wolf (Christian sounds so much better). She moved to London to escape her cousin who wanted to marry her after her aunt died. She kept finding herself in danger and he was always there to save her. Ends up that the former Duke of Raven had married her mother, an actress, who died in childbirth. Unable to cope he had his solicitor get rid of the baby. He placed her with the "aunt". She was to be kept a secret and the solicitor kept trying to hide her away then tried to kill her. It got old listening to him and her talk about how they came from two different worlds. Move on and have more romance.

This is great story of the Raven and Sinclair clan. This one was a little predictable but the complications keep it intriguing. The bond between the Sinclair family members is extraordinary and the Raven/Sinclair family's love wonderful. I did wonder how they managed to find non-cousins to marry after so many centuries of Sinclairs marrying Ravens.
The characters are all strong, even the children and there is a depth to the descriptions of each person, not just the relationship to the main couple.
This stand-alone makes me want to read all the stories of the couples in this series and work out the family tree. I look forward to reading more in the series.

An excellent series!

I am in hopes the author will be writing more in this series as it is vastly entertaining, and I have fallen in love with the characters!
The synopsis explains what the story is about, so I see no reason to rehash it.
The series should be read in order from the first book for continuity.
Note: this is meant for adults as there is some blue language, and somewhat explicit sex, though compared to some, it is relatively low key.

I highly recommend the series as well as the author!
I love her writing! Her sense of humor is sparkling! ❤️

Another hit

I was a fan after the 1st book in this series and have loved every book since. With the Duke of Raven always searching and the Sinclair's always rescuing. This book didn't have the children in the story line as much so it wasn't as humorous as some of the previous books it was still a delight. Looking forward to the next in the series. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with us Ms Vella.

Ravens and Sinclair's are at it again! Another treasure!

It's not often I find a book set in Regency England which is dramatic, mystic, romantic, quick witted and funny at the same time.
Another treasure in the Raven and Sinclair saga.
Splendid characters quick and sharp dialogue, even the animals take centre stage.
What next for the entwined families?
Don't keep us waiting too long Ms. Vella!

Wolf...

I love this series. Wolf is one of my favourite Sinclairs. I only wish the book was longer and we had more detail about his leaving the family to fight and how he was cared for on his return.
I love this book but the pacing felt off. It rushed at parts that would do well to be investigated and it dragged in parts that didn’t need it.
But over all this is an enjoyable read.
