Elisabetta Dami is an Italian author that currently resides in Italy. She is the author of the Geronimo Stilton series, a bestselling childrens book. She enjoys traveling the world seeking ideas for her series. She writes under a pseudonym of Geronimo Stilton. She is also a co-owner of Italian based publishing company Edizioni Piemme.
My granddaughters enjoy the Geronimo Stilton series so I decided to read a few. In this offering, Geronimo buys a farm and then learns another area with a huge oak tree is up for auction. He and his buddies pool their resources to save the tree.
The story is cute and clever as well as informative. The concepts of auctions and auctioneers are explained in easy-to-understand terms and the importance of saving trees and farm land is well presented.
I enjoyed reading this book. Parts of the text are presented in different colors, the illustrations are detailed and clever, and the story lines were interesting. Great books for 1-3 graders, but I don't think this one would lend itself to read aloud very well.
M. is super into this series and reading them all voraciously, up to 3-4 a day. Originally Italian, the language is not dumbed down but still playful, with quirky cheese and mouse-themed puns and vibrant words that are illustrated here and there. The best part is any time there are puzzles and riddles for the reader to solve within the storyline. Sure, Geronimo is picked on by those around him and there are a lot of "crushes," hearts, and skinny mouse girly girls, but all things considered, they're engaging and not bad. Early chapter book series like these are such a gift to budding readers, since it makes it easy to run to the series section of the library and collect as many unread ones as possible. The larger, fantasy-themed ones are better, but harder to find.
This one in particular is sweet in how the community comes together to save the great oak, yes, but also to revive and restore a farm and farmhouse -- one that Geronimo purchases. He and his family visited it in his childhood, and it's so sweet how folks from the Gazette all enjoy meals together and work the land to make it bear fruit. M. loved the joyful, communal aspect of the second half, as did I.
Hug A Tree, Geronimo by Geronimo Stilton is a fiction chapter series book that has some pictures. I think that it would be good for both boys and girls ages 6 to 12 years old. I liked it because it was exciting. I think that other kids would like it because Geronimo is a mouse. I also liked how many other nice characters there are. This is the sixty-ninth book in the series, and I have read all of the other books in the series. This one is as exciting as the others. Be sure to check out all the other books in the series! The serial number of this book really over heated my expectations.
It feels like Elisabetta Dami (the real author) had too many non-children tropes in her mind and she just mixed it all up while she was pressured to write this book and make the illustrations (which were in between whole sentences) in less than an hour.
p.s. i read it online, fully illustrated as a pdf on fliphtml5.com
As someone who has grown up on the lower end of the wealthy scale, I will always, ALWAYS, enjoy a story in which a rich person doesn’t get want they want and then has a temper tantrum because of it. Pure gold, every time.

I thought Hug A Tree, Geronimo was a wonderful story of friendship and the importance of nature. Geronimo and the rodents of Mouse Island came together for a very important cause. This was a very well written adventure.
This is a great book! Geronimo and his friends together buy the old Stilton Family Farm, and discovers the secret of the Great Oak Tree! I love it! ❤❤❤

Geronimo has some trouble everytime. But he is a hard worker for everything he tries, and always nice & kind for people. Especially this story. So I love this series.
Even children's book are getting into the home remodeling craze! Geronimo and friends rescue the ol' homestead from a greedy developer. They seem to establish some sort of commune when all the saws and hammers have quieted down. If it sounds like a worn-out old plot, it is and has been done many times before. Overall, the book was eh but did have a nice message of teamwork, living in harmony with one another and nature.
Geronimo decides to buy his aunt's old farm where he used to spend the holidays. It's filled with memories from his childhood! There is a large oak tree in the yard that holds legendary secrets to unlock. This is also one of brilliant story of Geronimo Stilton so I hope you all read this book
This book is amazing. This book teaches you to always care for nature and not to litter! You should read this book and see how Geronimo Stilton cares for animals and nature.
started reading 12/2019, but the book was all over the place. we stopped on page 82. might try to pick it up again, but not sure it's worth it since the book is so random.
