Although this book is small, it is quite full of information! It starts off with a very useful index, so that people who are new to wine, as well as experienced wine drinkers can find whichever information is more important to them. The book starts out with a history of wine, which I found to be pleasantly brief, while also informative. The book also includes terms that every wine snob should know about, and how to use. And that is only the beginning of what’s covered in the “basics” section! After more basic info is provided, the book goes into other info, such as how to pair wine with food, or how to pour a glass of wine.

The last section is devoted to how one can “live the wine snob life,” and includes info such as travel information for famous wine destinations, or how to host a wine tasting party! This is a very good book for those new to wine, as well as those who are already experienced wine fanatics, to read, as well as own! This is definitely a book that I will be revisiting, because I for one, would love to live that “wine snob life!”

My husband bought this little gem for me for Christmas. It is a fantastic little book to help you understand just about everything you need to know as a wine enthusiast. I learned so much more than I already knew about wine! A handy little book for anyone interested in wine.

Kitabın tamamıyla şarap ile alakalı olduğunu anlamışsınızdır🥹 İçerisinde şarabın tarihi, şarap terimleri, üzümün nasıl şarap haline getirildiği, üzümün menşei'nin şarabı nasıl etkilediği, şarap ve üzüm türleri, yıllandırma teknikleri, şampanya, şarabın ekonomik değeri, katkı maddeleri, doğru şarabı nasıl seçebileceğimiz, kadehler, şişe açma teknikleri, ideal servis ısısı, şarap tadımının nasıl olacağı, bir restorana gittiğinizde nasıl şarap seçmeniz gerektiği, hangi yiyeceklerle hangi şarabın eşleşmesi gerektiği vd.
Kitabı #harflerleokuyoruz okuma grubum (Ş harfi) için okudum. Aşağıda değişik bilgiler var size seçtiğim. Tabi benim daha önce vildiğim bazı şeyler hiç bilmeyenlere değişik gelecektir o yüzden kitabı okuyun.

While reading this book will never make one a master sommelier there was much to be learned from within the pages of this short, little book.
Starting with the basics of growing and harvesting of the grapes, to the pressing, fermenting, and bottling of the wines, all aspects of vineyard management and wine production are discussed in a brief, easy to understand overview in which the author offers her vast knowledge of grape varieties and their characteristics.
The topics in the “Drink Up” chapter were very helpful, especially serving temps and tasting wines “like a pro”. I’d discovered I’d not been allowing my reds time to breathe and serving them too cold.
The greatest take-away message for me is to open more bottles, taste more wines and discover what it is I like.

My husband picked up this pocket sized non-fiction book about wine for me at our new independent bookstore. I got it I'm my stocking and was so excited! I read it cover to cover, and enjoyed it. Lots of good information, yet was actually readable. I will be turning back to certain sections from time to time over the next few years.

It was a fun short read, delivered in a pocket size, reserve it for a 2 hours reading session with a couple of nice wine cups. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys wine and like to structure a bit more its experiences and knowledge about wine. Nothing too serious, as it should be :). Embrace snob-ism

Did I just read a 100 something page book about wine in one day? Yes yes I did. Originally buying this book as a gift I wanted to go through and mark interesting things (I basically marked the whole book) but it is very easy to understand and is very fun to read. 🙂
