Tedd grew up with three brothers. His family lived on a farm in Pennsylvania for several years then returned to Elmira until Tedd was ten years old. His father's work then required that they move to Gainesville, Florida. There, Tedd's first art lessons in an abandoned dentist's office over the Happy Hour pool hall eventually led to a fine arts degree from the University of Florida.

He and his wife, Carol, started their family in Tallahassee where Tedd worked as a commercial illustrator. Carol, a kindergarten teacher, drew Tedd's attention to children's books. Their first son, Walter, inspired his breakthrough picture book, NO JUMPING ON THE BED!.

He and his family now live in Elmira. His second son, William, now stars in NO MORE WATER IN THE TUB!, a sequel to his first book. He has now published over 50 books as author and illustrator.

This is a fun fly guy book where they visit a landfill and learn about how garbage is handled. It is very well-written with nice layouts. The photos are great and information boxes are helpful. Kids will enjoy learning about this topic with their friends Fly Guy and Buzz. Highly recommended for Grades K-2.

This book contained helpful visuals of landfills, and it was quite fun for my four year old.
I would have appreciated a little more information {but call me picky because we read My Plastic Footprint}
- The little balls of recycled plastic are called nurdles and definitely get into the water.
- Plastic KILLS marine animals, it doesn't make them sick.
- Compost added to the landfill makes those terrible gases that were lightly mentioned.
- Recycling is only recycled IF the garbage company looks for, and finds a purchaser, otherwise it is thrown into the landfill or burned.
- We eat 1 credit card worth of plastic a week.
- Recycling plastic into carpets etc is cool, but plastic is not safe due to the estrogen matching chemicals.

In this book, Fly Guy teaches us all about garbage and recycling. The book goes into what types of landfills we have, how they work, what happens when a landfill is no longer usable, what types of trucks there are, how to recycle, what happens to the things we recycle and every other little thing in between. this book is great for kids to learn about what happens when they throw things away and how they could "reduce, reuse, and recycle".

I gave this book a 5 star rating because of how much interesting information is packed into it. The cover of this book and the name "fly guy" will instantly catch a Childs attention and I value the lessons taught in this book.

This is a fun book for fans of both Fly Guy and garbage trucks. It has a TON of information on garbage (like types of garbage collected), garbage trucks, recycling, following a recycled product. There's even a small section dedicated to ocean pollution. While it's dense, it's also spread out in a Fly Guy-esque way that makes it doable and fun for the age of my son (2.5 years), who loves the photos and images.
