Ivy Morgan #12

Wicked Haunts

Rate this book
Ivy Morgan is a woman on the edge … and it’s becoming more and more apparent that she is – in fact – a witch.

With each new ability that sprouts up, Ivy is becoming more and more worried about what’s to come.

Things only become more and more convoluted when Ivy and her fiancé Jack Harker trip (almost literally) over a missing person’s case while out hiking. When a mysterious purse shows up at a ramshackle home from an era past, they follow a young woman’s trail to her mother’s house … and find a dead body.

Janice Green was a nice woman with a grown daughter who survived the embarrassment of her husband leaving her for her best friend years before. Janice’s death leaves more questions than answers, and the race is on to find her missing daughter.

Ivy has her hands full when visions start popping into her head and she keeps catching sight of a woman who has no business hanging around Shadow Lake. Even though she’s afraid of what’s happening, Ivy is determined to get a handle on things … even if only because a young woman’s life hangs in the balance.

Shadow Lake is a small town and some of the residents have big secrets. It’s a race against time to find a dead woman’s daughter and Ivy and Jack are going to have to work together if they plan to find the answers they so desperately need.

Magic and might are about to mix, and the outcome is bound to be explosive.

Surprisingly good! I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. This story was creative, entertaining, and original. It was also okay for younger readers, as there's no cursing and only very slight insinuation of sexy times. This story was much better regarding predictability than, "Wicked Whimsy", and the reveal was actually a surprise for me, which doesn't happen often with this series. I hope my library gets the remaining books of this series. This one was very worth the time to read.

Entertaining Paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Ivy Morgan is a young woman who grew up and lives in a small Michigan town and owns her own nursery. Her brother owns a lumberyard in the town and her parents Still live in the town nearby. Your father works with her at the nursery on occasion and her aunt owns a magic shop in a nearby town. By the way Hy-Vee comes from a long line of women in her family that have some paranormal capabilities. Ivy is becoming very strong in her abilities and is growing day by day. Her fiancé Jack is a police officer in the town where they live. Ever since they met her powers have been growing because she’s opened her self up to him and the new life. Read on and see what adventure they get into this time. Always fun always entertaining with lots of mystery and intrigue.

Ivy helps solve a murder with the help of a new friend

Ivy is finding new powers, and they help solve the mystery, with the help of a long-dead witch. I love the interplay among the main characters.

A hike in the woods..

.. with Jack and some ill fitting boots takes our smitten lovebirds to the abandoned house Max teased her was haunted by a witch as child.

But when Ivy finds a purse outside, and see's it belongs to Phoebe Green a young woman from Shadow Lake and they try to return it they're opening a new case. Phoebe's mother, Janice, is lying dead in her otherwise empty house. Phoebe appears to be missing the question is did she kill her mother and run or has someone abducted her?

As Brian and Ivy fill Jack in on the family's sad and bitter history it seems to raise more suspects than they can shake a stick at.. how about.. Phoebe's estranged father Brad? Or his second wife Nikki who betrayed her best friend Janice to run off with him? There's Nikki's father Hank, and Janice's new boyfriend too.

Ivy's powers are suddenly surging and she's not just getting visions; she's seeing and finally talking to the ghost of Susan Bishop who just happens to be the witch from the abandoned house Max teased her about.

Ivy needs to get past her mental block and realise that Jack's not about to leave her because her powers are getting stronger, Harper helps but it's Susan who seems to help her most.. she's going to need to embrace it to save herself.

Lily and Jack are out hiking in the woods by her house, when on the way back they catch a glimpse of an old cabin that Max use to tell Ivy was owed by a witch.. Jack wants to explore inside, and Ivy finds a puse belonging to a young woman. They look around to see if she happens to be there, mayabe hurt or something but they dont find her. So they decided to go to her house and return it to her.. They find more than they bargained for when they find a body in the house. The young womans mother was strangled to death, and she seems to be missing.
Ivy seems to be gaining in the power department. Picking up on impressions / and visions from the mothers car of what happened during her murder. So Ivy thinks she is going crazy and that at some point she is going to have so many new witchy things that Jack will eventually leave her.
I really liked that Ivy ends up calling Harper since she know that the other woman will understand the new weird things happening to her. I really hope we get to see more of them together,
I thought the mystery was really good, and I like that Ivy is starting to get more comfortable with who she is.. Im excited to read the rest of this series, and start on one of the others of this author!

Amazing!!

Ivy and Jack are out for a hike in the woods when they stumble on a purse. When they head out to the house where the owner of the purse lives, they discover the dead body of the mother. The daughter is missing and feared dead.
Jack begins an investigation.
Ivy starts seeing a woman who has no reason being around.
In this book ivy's abilities are explored and discussed.
There are lots of twists and turns that takes place in the story.
The ending of the book had got me all excited as it clearly indicates a crossover with Rowan Gray.
Can't wait til December when it releases.

Ivy is embracing her witchy powers, and it's awesome what she can do. I never figured out who the bad guy was until the very end. That made for a suspenseful story. I like that Ivy is stubborn but is in tune with Jack enough to know when and when not to push it. No fear of Jack's wrath at all but sensing him, seeing a look in his eyes or reading his body language ... the slope of his shoulders at the anticipation of an upcoming, inevitable argument.. the little things that only true feelings for your partner can garner.

Magical

Ivy is experiencing new abilities and she is accepting them and the new possibilities. This mystery was a little more mysterious as I thought I knew who did it didn't trust myself (it couldn't be, really.) But first instinct was correct. I waffled.
So looking forward to the next book with the cross over. I think it will feel like a long wait. However maybe I should give Maddie another try.

A found purse, a dead body, a missing person and too many questions!

Ivy’s new boots have caused quite a problem with her feet during the hiking jaunt she takes with Jack. However, that is the least of their problems when they find a purse laying in the grass by an old rundown shack. While trying to get the purse back to its owner, they discover a body and the investigation begins.

Going strong as always

Already no. 12. Time flies. Due to a mistake of Amazon earlier then expected. This was a nice read, perfect for a lazy afternoon. Nothing too complex. I liked it a lot. And the end gives a little hint to the cross over with Rowan Gray. I will be waiting for that one.

Wicked Haunts

Loved this edition to the series. I'm really looking forward to the crossover with Rowan. In this story, there are a lot of bad guys, but only one guilty of murder. Loving Ivy's new abilities and poor Jack is ever the perfect fiance. Not sure why Ivy puts up such a fuss when Jack wants her to stick close to her brother or father.

Another great add to the series. Ivy and friends are solving another mystery, this one might be my favorite because so many fun surprises happen for the main plot and Ivy's witch side. Add in a murder where so many people are hiding things and this small town is starting to reveal more. Can't wait for the next.

Well that was a bit of a twist ending. I liked it. Ivy is slowly growing into her newly found powers and I’m lovin it!

There was less whining on Ivy’s part - thank goodness - and hopefully in the next books will have more magic and less whining.

I bet Susan will make an appearance, as well in the next book (Wicked Delight, book 13)

Great Series

The series just keeps getting better. Ivy is becoming stronger, and getting help from unexpected sources. The mystery had a surprise ending, at least for me. Never saw that coming. Love it when I am surprised.

I can't wait for the next book in this series. I feel another crossover with Harper Harlow coming soon. Two of my favorite series by the way. Didn't have as much with Max the last couple books so I'm thinking he's got to find his woman soon. Lol enjoy

What a tangled web

A lost girl, a dead woman, and a bunch of lies are keeping Jack and Ivy on the run. Ivy's growing powers have her worried but they could help solve the mystery. Couldn't put it down.

Ivy grows powers again

The Ivy Morgan mysteries keep getting better. She is increasing in abilities with each book and after the very poor outing with the beauty pageant book, the last couple have been much better.

Surprise ending I didn't expect.

This was a great mystery full of misdirections that kept me guessing to the very end. Finally Ivy is embracing the magic. I hope we get more of the magic.

I couldn't put this book down! A great story. I thought that karma was a witch and I thought (once again I was wrong) but the person I thought was the murderer wasn't and I felt bad for the person. Great twist at the end. Never seen it coming.
