Thirteen years ago, I was ripped from my home and forced into servitude. My world was already broken, and the hell I’d experienced at home, it became the same. Then I was suddenly released into a different kind of hell. A hell that knows no boundaries, that cares about no one. I’m empty, alone and scared. I’m weak, and I don’t know if I can survive another hell. Something is missing and I must face this hell in order to find it, or die trying.
Hank
The world changed thirteen years ago. My life, as well as everyone else’s, was turned upside down. While others pillaged for food and water, I went in search of my sister. But the Heretics made it nearly impossible to find her even though I traveled through hell and high water. Now that my sister is found, I’ve joined the Mercenaries and will fight for my country. I will not surrender, I will not bow down and I will not break, until I meet Emma.
Abe
Emma appeared in my life eight months ago, almost thirteen years after our world exploded. She’s weak, scared and beautiful. I can see us spending the rest of our days together, but I keep away and watch from a distance. Then Hank comes along and hopes for my future slowly melt away to the nothingness of the world.
Who will fill the hole in Emma’s heart and who will surrender for her to be free?

Where to begin with this book. This story is mostly from Emma and Hanks POV do you get to see a lot more of the conflicted nature of what has been going. There were moments where I really wanted to throttle Emma. But the more you read, the more you understand of the torment that is going through her not just in mind but in body and soul as well. She has had such a hellish life that words cannot express how much I agonized for her. And poor Hank. All he wanted to do is love her. But with Abe, there is a constant battle regardless of the situation. I found that this was a story of redemption for Emma. With everything that she has endured, not just by the hands of the Heretics but also her life prior, she just wanted peace. While I wanted to hate her, I couldn’t. Watching the battles she had to fight within her, broke my heart. And that ending. Wtf Mizz Lynn!!!! The twists and turns that occurred made my head spin. But they were so brilliant! It added that extra punch! And that epilogue. Ummmm need more. Like stat! If you like a dystopian read, I highly recommend this series. It’s unique and one of a kind.
I read Missing Pieces and enjoyed it very much. It was different than the other books I had read. I wasn't sure when Christa would finish her story. I had forgotten about the book and as I started reading Finding Peace, it all came back. These books are different, but attention getting. Looking forward to more of her work. Thanks Christa.
