I loved the twist and turns in this book and there were several. The only problem I had was that it dragged on a little bit for me so there were parts that took me a few to get through. I love all three of these characters and that one scene towards the end was freaking hot. I hope there are more of those to come. On to the next one :)
Blurb: Cora and Finn head for the safety of Javier's Texan villa, joined by Finn's business partner and friend, Lars.
But Finn's darker side is impatient, and he knows of only one thing that soothes it: Cora. Now that she's in even more danger than before, he becomes obsessed with her safety.
When Finn refuses to leave Cora's side, Lars questions his friend's loyalties. He knows Finn's obsessions are unhealthy, and tries to steer him away from his new love.
Finally convincing Finn he's better off alone, they leave Cora at her uncle's villa. But a messenger carrying a ransom note is waiting for them.
Now Cora is faced with a difficult choice: the life of her father, or her freedom.
So this is "Claimed by the Beast", not Hitman as Goodreads is saying. New title that didn't get updated??? I don't know!
Definitely need to read book 1 before going into this one. Cora and Finn meet up with his partner Lars and they continue on to take Cora to her drop off point in Texas to be safe with her "uncle" the head of the cartel her father was involved with. Finn can't leave her until he knows she's safe, as he's managed to fall quite hard for her. Lars just wants out, but admits that he is falling for her too.
Apparently this is a "slow burn" Reverse Harem novel, where Cora picks up a new man in each story and they all love her. I did not realize this while I was reading. I noticed it later. So if you are wanting lots of sexy loving between Cora and the two guys, keep moving. She has one night with them before the "S" hits the fan. Then the violence starts. So the one night together was one of the most unique threesome scenes I've ever read. Definitely sexy. But then all the violence was a bit of a turn off. I wasn't expecting so much, I guess.
Story ends on more of a cliffhanger than the first one. I can't decide if I really want to read the next one! I'm not loving the characters, and apparently I don't love slow burn! But that's just me. You may love it...
This is book two in the Dark Twisted Love series and should be read after book one or you will be lost. So, book two starts us right where we left off with book one. There is so much going on and I love every second of it. These two books so far have exceeded my expectations. I love a filthy dirty dark romance and so far this series is checking all my boxes when it comes to a great dark romance. Finn is still fighting what he feels for Cora and now his partner, Lars is getting in on the action. Finn has secrets and feels he is no good for Cora, but at this point I'm pretty sure he's the lesser of all the evils that want to get their hands on her. Of course Lars thinks Finn is better off without Cora and is not afraid to tell her so. Don Zachary definitely has bad intentions towards Cora and at this particular moment I'm not sure how I feel about Javier. Javier is the man Cora's dad wanted her to be delivered safely to, but he's giving off some weird vibes and I'm not totally convinced he has her safety and wellbeing in mind. Things are really starting to heat up and this book obviously ends in a cliffhanger and I'm dying to get my hands on the next book in this series. This series is a definite must read for everyone out there that loves a truly dark filthy romance.
What a great continuation from book one and still so many twists and turns built in. I still have no idea who I can trust and it has been a long time since I have had such a visceral reaction to characters. The story has gone deeper in this one and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
This is a cartel book with a little of everything thrown in from cartel violence, snark and some heat built in too
Again Logan Fox leaves me wanting, and impatient for the next book. The rollercoaster only coming to a temporary stop, as the story leaves our protagonists tied up in yet another clusterfuck. My heart has stopped a few times, and ached for Cora, Finn, Lars and Angel alike. Don Javier slithers of the page like the venomous snake that he is, and Don Zachery continues to darken the room when he appears without fail.
I loved how past and present are slowly starting to connect, how the story gets a bit darker as we go… and how we are starting to get a peek inside Lars’ impenetrable self. He’s a hard man to get to know. The MFM scene with him, Finn and Cora was hot as fuck and I wonder what they would get up to when they aren’t dead tired. ;)
I hate Javier’s hideout; it’s oppressive and makes me slightly claustrophobic, despite being immense. It’s quite amazing how a good writer can make you feel such things so vividly. She’s made me cringe, ache, tense and clench all through the journey, and even got a chuckle out of me now and then.
Encore !
Wow what a book and I thought book 1 was good wellll let me just say this...nope I was wrong Logan just blows this story out of the water. This picks up from where the first book left off and this story without giving anything away just takes off from there. This book has non stop action, lies, mob connections that only go deeper so many thing's you won't know what to believe. I loved it. I would definitely recommend getting this book if you read book 1 you'll want to read book 2.
He joins them as she goes to her uncle because her father is missing. His beast is getting impatient as it wants her and to claim her. When she gets to her uncle they find a ransom note. What do they want? Will they give it to them to free him? See how it will all end
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Can't even imagine how frustrated Cora is right now - I want to reach in and pull them all out - my heart is breaking for Lars and Milo - NO peeking! This is book two - these are full-length stories - each one delivering heart-stopping angst and bone-chilling betrayal
We pick up right where we left off in book one - running from an unknown enemy- unsure who is a friend or foe Milo (Finn) is doing everything in his power to keep Cora alive and out of harms way , not only from the known dangers but also the unknown that seems to be lurking around every corner. And let us not forget that now that his beast has had a taste of Cora's innocence he is demanding Cora's blood as well. Can Finn figure out who to trust? Can he keep his beast from destroying Cora? Is it really as easy as dropping her off with her uncle? Can he walk away? I have to say I was a bit broken when this one closed. I am not giving away spoilers but A LOT happens to our characters - most not so good. I need book three NOW!
I received an arc, and am voluntarily leaving this review. OMG!!!!!!!! I could not put this one down, it was so so very good. It is a dark and twisted story. I hope Cora, Finn, and Lars works everything out. There is always something going wrong in this story. Gosh, I just cant get over how totally awesome this book is. You get into the story to the point of being able to feel all the emotions that the characters were going through. I very highly recommend this book
KICKING UP THE HEAT!!! OMG! Wow! Talk about out of the frying pan into the fire. This bad boy hit the ground running. Logan didn't pull any punches. This little gem throws caution to the wind and rides head long into danger. "What you see is what you get" isn't the correct phrase for this page turning masterpiece. It's an action packed, fast paced, heart pounding, nerve racking, nailbiting, smooth flowing read that captivates from the start. All the twists and turns, unpredictable happenings along with all the trials and tribulations you hang on every word. Frozen on a razors edge, barely breathing, not moving an inch, so afraid you'd miss something. If you're looking for excitement, drama and a full range of emotions that hold your attention, congrats my friends, you've just stepped off in it. Logan is a very passionate author that really draws you into her web of intrigue and suspense that rides high with danger nipping at their heels. Tension is a constant companion as well as spine tingling, adrenaline pumping, pulse racing that takes you on one thrilling adventure. Logan did an excellent job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Logan, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
I will start by saying that I cannot wait for the next book of the series. It was interesting and engaging, steamy and intense. Loved the characters and the plot will keep you reading till the very last page. Definitely one click worthy.

Holy mackerel! This story has so many twists and turns that it will leave you reeling. It is action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire story. It continues where the first book ended and just keeps getting more in-depth from there. It amazingly well written and the flow is fantastic. We still have our lead characters, Cora, Finn, and Lars together throughout the story. We extremely well developed support characters that are extremely realistic. The pulls you in from page one to end. It is most definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.
Could not put this book down from the very first page to the end. Can't wait until the next book in the series. You will fall in love with the characters, Cora, Finn and Lars. A very dark and twisted story that I absolutely love!!
The story get a little more clearer then in the first book but still a bit too dense. The plot is over complicated to begin with but it seems like the author is not done entangled the story even more.

So I made the mistake of starting the book and not finishing it for many weeks, which was through no fault of my own, my traveling just didn't allow for any book reading for a couple weeks there. That means I wasn't as engaged in this book as I was Book 1 and that's not my normal MO for a Logan Fox book. I can say that after starting Book 3 when this one finished, that I don't want to put the next book down, so I'll chalk my deducting of a star to my lack of dedication to this one and not the actual book itself.
This one picks up where the first book left off. Finn is still taking Cora to her 'uncle' Javier as instructed by Cora's father. But of course, things will not go as easily as planned, as was evident by Book 1. Someone still wants to take Cora and they'll still be fighting for their lives in this one. It only gets more intense the further into the book we get.
We meet Lars in this one (or at least I think that was this book, both are running together now) and I just love the guy. He's Finn's business partner, and apparently a whole lot more, we come to learn. He brings some humor and lightheartedness to an otherwise dark book. Then there's the sexy times he gets added to and whoa boy, it's hot. I just wish we had more of that sexiness, but I guess when you're fighting too hard to stay alive, there isn't much time for that. I'm hoping for more in the next book and know I won't be let down.
I didn't see Finn as a monster in the first book, but after this one, I can definitely see his inner beast coming out. We learn what has made him the man he is and why he struggles with his blood-thirsty and corrupting beast. He certainly went through a lot, I'm just glad he has Lars there balancing things out and bringing some reason to situations.
If I had one complaint with this book (and series in general), it's the sheer number of characters we have to keep up with. There are so many names to remember and try to piece together how they fit with one another. I'm sure I'm just forgetting an important detail previously mentioned, but I'm still a bit lost as to who Zachary West is to Cora. I know the connection is sort of made in this book and he's someone from her past, but I'm still trying to figure that one out. I know there will only be even more names to remember in the next book, as new characters are introduced, so I may need to start drawing a character diagram/family tree to keep it all straight lol.
Some revelations weren't really surprising to me in this one. I had my suspicions about some characters right away and knew to be wary of them. Others I hoped would turn out to be good guys, but they just let me down. I can say that the next book definitely has some plot twists right away that I didn't see coming, so even though a lot of this book was predictable (to me), I know that in typical Logan Fox fashion, I'll be in for a lot of dark twists and turns and needing that HEA that just seems to be out of arms reach.
If you've made it this far into the series, then just keep reading. I can promise you that Ms. Fox never disappoints and will keep you on edge with her wild, dark imagination. I had to make myself put Book 3 down so that I could get some sleep, but am anxious to get back to it.
Cora and Finn continue their journey to Texas where they must meet Javier Martin, el tío de Cora. But first they stop at Finn’s cabin to rest and there is where Lars , Finn’s partner, best friend and lover meets them. Lars isn’t much of a fan of Cora at first as he sees that his friend has lost his mind over her, but he offer to help her and protect her too. They manage to get to Javier’s house where he welcomes them with open arms, but soon they realize that Cora’s tío has his own agenda. Finn, Lars and Cora have a very🔥🔥🔥night of passion together just before these 2 amigos leave. Cora has a chat with her uncle and just at that moment they receive a message from Zachary, aka El Lobo, the man who has Cora’s father. He wants Cora and the files in exchange for Cora’s father life. Javier refuses but Cora decides to go, with the help of Lars, Finn and Angel( a man who has worked for Zachary and who ends up betraying her after she saved his life). Cora and Zachary finally meet and she realizes that she had already seen him before, in her first kidnapping when she was a child. They barely make it out alive, but her father is not as lucky. They end up at Javier’s house again, only this time he is not so friendly. He ends up putting Lars and Finn in the hospital and begins to teach Cora her new role as Capo of the cartel. Cora is now La Sombra!!!
Finn smoothed her hair away from her cheeks and tipped her face up. “I don’t know if I can leave you.” “I’ll be fine,” she managed, voice thick with the threat of more tears. “Please, just—” “I don’t know if I could ever leave you. I don’t crave safety.” Finn’s teeth found her earlobe, toyed with it. “I crave you. I’m addicted to you.
“Before I met you, Lars and I—” “You were a couple?” Cora put in, her voice quavering. Finn deflated. “I wouldn’t say—” “Jesus,” Lars said dryly. “We fucked a few times, that’s it. What he’s too shit scared to say, is that he’s fallen hard for you.” “Lars,” Finn growled, but the man flat-out ignored him. “You see, bunny, I know Finn. We’ve been friends for years. I know when some chick comes along and uses his heart for a punching bag.”“So it’s not good for us to keep hanging around you. But we’ll make sure you don’t ever have to worry about the cartels again.” “And then?” Cora asked in a shaking voice. “Then I’ll never see you again?” Finn rose. “That’s the plan,” he said quietly. Cora turned to Lars, as if seeking some kind of explanation. Lars shrugged and said simply, “We’ll all be better off without each other.”

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "HER DON" This story pick up where book 1 leaves off Finn takes Cora to Javier's villa along with his business partner and BF Lars. Finn has become obsessed about being by Cora side his darker side needs her close she in even more danger and he wants to protect her Lars tries to steer him away for his own good. This story connects the past and present you get to see a little inside Lars he has walls up making hard to truly know him, the chemistry between Finn, Lars and Cora was scorching hot. When they get to her Uncle's there's a ransom note what will happen her father is missing and Javier is is creepy and somethings weird with him he's not my favorite person so many lies, secrets, the mob connection everything pulls you right in so well written with great interesting engaging characters I sooo can't wait to read the next book in this dark twisted series "HER CAPO"
Well if you thought that the first book had you guessing, well this was was more intense and so many things that you didn't see coming had your mind reeling. In this one we get to meet Lars. He's Finn's partner but you would never guessed a few other s things as well. I love how we see him become just as enamored we Cora as well. She has this way about her that the men just can't seem to ignore. Through it al! Finn and Lars are the only thing that keeps her safe, same and loved even though they haven't quite figured it out yet. You kept us guessing so much that now we need to see what happens next. I'm so in love with how this is playing out that I'm definitely going to recommend it to all my friends. Thank you for giving us something we'll worth the read. I give it 5+ stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
In order for Book 2 to make sense you need to have read Book 1 as this one begins immediately where the first one ends. While Cora and Finn, our main characters from book 1, are back they were joined by his best friend and partner Lars near the end of that first book. We are taken on a thrill ride through the terrifying business of the drug cartels. And then there is Finn's growing obsession with Cora and her romantic feelings for him and Lars entering the triad too. It's adventurous and thrilling, dark and delicious and called to my very core to read it from the beginning to the cliff-hanger ending. Please don't make me wait too long for Book 3!
Through the previous book they were trying to reach the safe house. The finally managed to do it in this book! We get to meet Finn’s business partner as well. I don’t really know what to think of Lars. He gives me some weird vibes! Zachary is seriously the devil; I’m getting sure of it in every chapter. I kind of predicted the connection between Cora’s past and Zachary. He was too obsessed with her for not knowing her before! Tok many things went down in this book. Zachary and Cora are meeting face to face after all the run. It turns out that everyone wants something. I’m curious how their story is continuing!
Man this series sure has kept me on my toes. Just when you think you have predicted where things are going, something unpredictable happens. You just need to sit back and enjoy watching the story unfold!
I have to say this author writes FANTASTIC intimate scenes. They are incredibly steamy and I'm all about them!
One thing I had meant to mention in my review from the first book but carries over is that it throws me off at the beginning of each chapter having to figure out who's pov we are reading. I also really appreciated having the footnotes with the Spanish translations that was in the first book but wasn't in this book.
This is a truly dark and twisted romance series. This is book two and starts directly from the end of book one. This book is full of twists and turns. Finn and Cora team up with Lars in this installment and the fireworks erupt. The interactions between this trio are hot and steamy. It’s a long road to Texas are the trio encounter many obstacles along the way. This story keeps you on your toes trying to figure out what will happen next. Finn and Lars risk everything to save Cora but will it be enough? Another great story from the talented Logan Fox. This book is a must read!!!!
Finn is working hard to keep Cora alive, but at what cost? Lars is Finn's buddy and we meet him in this second book, but how is he involved? The twists and turns in this second part of the story kept me on my toes, and just when things are looking good, wham! This is one messy, exciting read, and I just kept rooting for Cora to get to Texas safely, but of course nothing is as easy as it sounds! Can't wait to find out what is in store for these two!
Such a dark and twisted tale, full of suspense and betrayal. I really thing in order to appreciate this book fully - you should read book 1 (Broken by the Monster) first. I love that Lars was a main character and how he is interwoven with Finn and Cora. This book - for me at least is a cliffhanger of sorts as I can't wait to see what other twists and turns are in store for Cora, Finn and Lars. Deep characters and plot with plenty of page turning twists...
