Many churches, like this one in Upton, Cambridgeshire, are surrounded by the dead. Early communities held that spirits from bad people would walk the Earth forever, in a sort of Pagan Purgatory, hurting the living. Thus these ghosts were feared, and Propitiation made. The good spirits from good people were to be encouraged, hence the dedicating of churches to dead saints on consecrated ground - the Cult of the Dead

Challenging reading, thought provoking, eye opening.

I feel helped in that Keith Sisman has provided a wonderful tying together of ancient (Biblical) history, namely the tower of Babel as the source of the dispersion of the peoples over the whole earth with the same gods, same idols, but in different languages.

The reading is not easy, but we are shown from his research that this is not just Keith Sisman's conjectures but what has already been written about and documented by many other writers, mostly ancient writers and almost totally ignored today.

I do appreciate this Kendle edition especially the "drill down" dictionaries always there to help.

I have all six of these books. Now I am about to start the 4th volume.
