This year will either make me or break me…

My professors worry that I'm sliding down a slippery slope, but I know I'm still on the path of redemption. I've worked too hard for too long, and I have no intention of letting down my family. When Bryn disappears during a routine field trip, though, I must put my need to succeed on hold. After all, what good is being the best if I can't use my powers to help those closest to me? The more facts I uncover, the more I realize that her disappearance is part of a much larger scheme--one that threatens our very existence.

Can I stop a diabolical plan in motion or will I suffer the same fate as those I'm striving to save?

Dani is losing control over her magic and her drive to be the best is changing her to the point she's forced to go into counseling. Before she can make any progress though, her friend Bryn is kidnapped. While pursuing Bryn, Dani is also kidnapped as part of a master plan to kidnap and sell into slavery, paranormals with strong powers. They're to be sold to the highest bidder to fight against opponents in matches to the death.

Bryn is kidnapped and Dani and the others go looking for her. But Dani gets more than she expected, she finds Bryn but only after she too is kidnapped! This is a dark subject about paranormal trafficking but never fear, there is still plenty of snark and a wonderful ending! I am completely enjoying the Spellslingers Academy and can't stop reading them!

Great finish

Great finish to Dani’s story. Hoping for at least 2 more series to complete the roommate’s stories. Glad to see there are plenty more books by this author. I’ll be looking into them.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

When Bryn vanishes on a field trip..

.. with Grey,Theo and her classmates, Dani feels guilty for not acknowledging the twitch on her internal radar while they were in the museum. She's been struggling to control her powers and feeling resentful because the Board insist that she attends counselling after she shows signs of following her grandmother onto the path of allowing her magic to consume and control her.

Dani's power pushes her into the investigation to find Bryn but there's no trace of the missing water witch even her link to her familiar has been severed. When an attempt to talk to a Samodiva goes wrong Dani finds herself in the same place as Bryn but can they bypass the suppression of their magic and find a way out?

Extraordinary world of stories

I love this series of books all of the spell slingers academy books are extraordinary. Great cast of characters four which is going to the Academy learning to be future law-enforcement in this world. And urban fantasy of a paranormal world that are interwoven with a Monday and human world. Follow along as each which broadens their experience and character. Hopefully this series well technically never end as we still have two more which is to focus in on. This author also has many other books that are tied to the same world. I hope she keeps spell slingers academy has its own little series with new characters overtime. Check them all out

Finally stopped whining.

This is their second year at Spellslingers Academy, and the classes are next level. So are their extracurricular activities.

When Bryn goes missing on a field trip, her friends are unwilling to wait for channels to determine their actions. Everyone scrambles for information and inclusion; and, slowly the picture comes together.

For Dani, it means dealing with the beast of magic, that wants to roar all the time. Finding balance is a need of all these elemental witches; romance is a nice perk.

Things are getting a little dicey with Dani's magic. It seems to be getting away from her. Just when she starts getting afraid for herself she is thrown in to a new adventure but this one is for life and death. Hers and Bryns. The stakes are higher than ever before and this time she does not have Peter by her side. This one is a real nail biter!

I listened to this whilst waiting for a concert to start.
It’s a good quick listen and I would definitely recommend for younger readers - I know my brothers would enjoy this in the car in the mornings.
The mc is funny and badass but I do feel you don’t get to connect with the characters in this series as it is part of a whole world.

Better and Better!

It took me a bit to get into Dani,s character, but this last book made a huge difference. And now that I am liking her, I believe she will now be sidelined like Bryn was and Cerys or Mia will take center stage. Who knows, I could be wrong. Either way, good book! Enjoy!

Action packed plus personal growth

No one really likes being forced into something. I didn't read the blurb before reading so I'm not sure if they alluded to Bryn's actual situation but it was not what I'd expected. This was definitely heartwarming with a few sad bits thrown in.

As with Bryn's trilogy, the final book in Dani's took on a particularly dark and gritty aspect of the magical world. This coincides with Dani's personal struggles taking a particularly difficult turn as she hits a new low. The combination makes for a nerve-wracking, edge-of-the-seat read!

The ultimate test, comes to Dani and many others, will she be able to battle herself and win? This one will have you on the edge of your seat for the few hours you will devour it in. Lessons to be learned are learned under-fire!

Wow.

Sitting here with tissues in my hand. No spoilers, but you will cry at the end. Now if the author could magic up the next trilogy, I'd be very happy.

Annabel Chase has done it again. This series was great from the beginning to the end. But you need to start with first series "Warren of the West"
