Noah Noasaurus

Rate this book
Noah Noasaurus woke up feeling very No. No to brushing his teeth. No to eating breakfast. And definitely No to playing with his little brother. Things only get worse when Noah goes for a walk and relentlessly cheerful Toby Rex, Brian Brontosaurus, and Ava Ceratops follow him. Together, the group starts a bona fide dino parade that even Noah can’t resist. This lighthearted, whimsical story will have readers laughing along at Noah and his friends—as well as at their own bad moods.

Clever wordplay, a cast of characters that is unfailingly kind, and a compelling story combine to make this well worth the read. At the age of two...or even before...young kids have a favorite word. NO! And sometimes, that favorite word remains a favorite for a long time. This book is sure to be a hit with every child...so relatable...plus the main characters are DINOSAURS...what could be better than that!

The illustrations complement the text, as the tension builds and Noah realizes that no matter what he does or says, his friends are bound and determined to come along on his walk to NOwhere.

The pacing and action are perfect. This is definitely a book filled with humor and heart...a perfect picture book in my opinion. I can't wait till it comes out because I have a list of kids that will LOVE it! (And so will their parents!)

Noah Noasaurus is having a rough go. No breakfast offering from mom or dad, game with his brother, or greeting from friends can turn his day around. He simply says “No!” to everything. When his friends persist, following Noah everywhere he goes, over jagged rocks, through logs and puddles, the bad day turns into a muddy parade. But no matter how many times Noah says “No!” his friends won’t leave him behind. This is a sweet tale just right for young ones learning to deal with their emotions. The bright, expressive illustrations will captivate in a one-on-one reading but this story would be even more fun to share with a group.

No! No! No! Sounds all too familiar to parents of toddlers, so in this precocious story of a little dinosaur with a case of the Nos! Kearns hits the tail on the head! (hee-hee) Young readers will identify with the stubborn little fellow as he literally marches through his day with an unwanted caravan of friends trailing behind him until he realizes that friends can be fun. Kearn’s simple text and Jack’s graphic illustrations combine to make this a hit for the toddler crowd and will be read and reread simply for the fun of saying NO!

No one will be able to say no to this delightful and funny picture book, because DINOSAURS and DINOSAURS WHOSE FAVORITE WORD IS NO is everything the world needs right now. Noah Noasaurus wakes up one morning feeling all NO and is having nothing to do with his family's and friends' efforts cheer him up.

Can he turn it around and can the day get better? Elaine Kiely Kearns’s snappy text and Colin Jack's lively and colorful illustrations blend perfectly to tell this story of friendship and a big mood. Kids of all ages will relate to Noah and root for him.

Some days are just "no" days, and Noah is definitely having one. But his friends aren't fazed, and eventually, Noah might just have to join in the fun.

NOAH NOASAURUS is perfect for one-on-one reads, as well as storytimes. Kids will love shouting out "No!" with Noah. (especially that very last one :)

Loved this!! Noah Noasaurus is feeling a little "No" today, a feeling we can all relate to. This story shows how a tiny dino moves from having a rough day to one that is spent having fun with friends. Kids will not only love all of the different dinosaurs, but also the humor they add as they join Noah who clearly would like to be left alone. The illustrations are bright and adorable, adding the perfect amount of personality to each character (Noah's pouty lips are my favorite!). This is a must read for all of those grumps out there or for anyone who knows what it takes to turn that frown upside down.

In this delightful story, little Noah Noasaurus wakes up on the wrong side of the swampland and stomps his way through a day full of NO. And even though he has an epic number of cheerful friends trying to lift his spirits, Noah is having NONE. OF. IT. Elaine Kearns has created an adorable band of merry characters that will surely make little ones laugh as they see themselves reflected in Noah's stubborn no-a-thon, all brought to colorful life by the vibrant and amusing illustrations. Definitely one for the permanent PB bookshelf!

Funny book about a grumpy little dinosaur who is having a no kind of day. His friends however, think that all this stomping off to nowhere sounds like a pretty fun idea.
It’s a quick read, and fun for dino-loving toddlers and preschoolers.

Bookaday #40. Cute dinosaur story about a grumpy little dinosaur who, with the help of his friends, has an attitude adjustment. Recommended to me by a student during a kidlit tv online learning assignment.

Do you have little ones that can’t stop saying “no”? This hilarious and adorable book, Noah Noasaurus is one that you’ll get your children saying yes to. Noah wakes up a grumpy dino who says no to everything and everyone. He decides to take a walk to nowhere and as he passes by his friends they start to follow him to go exploring but each time a new friend joins he says, “no”. After a long journey of friends and no’s Noah gives up and sits down. As his friends are leaving he realizes that he’s missing out on the fun and his no turns into a yes! My 5.5 year old loved it “because of all the no’s.” We also loved all the dino word plays!

With adorable and colorful illustrations this is a great book to discuss with young ones what happens when we change our attitude and have a little bit of fun.

This book has the winning combination of a popular dinosaur theme paired with a recognizable stage of childhood development. Many parents can relate to the "No" phase when a child's favourite word becomes "no." And for that reason alone, parents and children will love the book. From the Wooly Mammoth Slippers to the Smilodon Toothpaste, Elaine has fully explored the dinosaur theme in a playful manner. The bright and colourful illustrations by Colin Jack along with the increasing parade of dinosaur friends who follow Noah on his grumpy journey are delightful.

In true toddler fashion, Noah's grumpiness turns to laughter and he and his friends discover that a sense of humour can bring us out of our dinosaur doldrums. This is a super appealing book for preschool aged children.

In this tale of "NO!", Noah Noasaurus wants to be left alone ... but not really. He can't seem to get out of his funk and wants to dole out his grumpy mood to every dino around him. But when his friends keep marching on without him, Noah just might change his tune. Great debut from Elaine Kiely Kearns! Expressive and impressive illustrations by Colin Jack!

There’s so much to love in this book that’s perfect for the “no” age of picture book reader. The adorable main character will have you laughing as he tries to out-no his determined friends. The colorful illustrations are perfect to delight the young picture book reader, whether or not they can read the words. When finally “no” becomes the perfect answer, it’s a fun resolution to a word problem parents hate to hear! Hope this one comes out in a board book!

This is such an adorable book. The word play with dinosaur themed words, using a child's favorite word "NO" , adding a group of friends and mixing this all with humor makes for a book kids will want to hear over and over again. The vibrant colors on each page along with the humorous text show kids how a negative mind set loses power with a group of great positive minded friends!

A whimsical story of Noah Noasaurus and his friends, who don't take no for an answer! Written with simplicity and precision, the book teaches a valuable lesson of friendship. As someone who feels like Noah Noasaurus very often, I can relate to the story and I am sure many kids would, too!

Heartwarming, hilarious picture book that had me smiling from start to finish. Noah is determined to be in a bad mood, but with the help of some friends learns to find the bright side. My three-year-old loved it, and I'm sure it would appeal to older kids as well.

Having a bad day? So is Noah. He’s not feeling like anything today. It’s No! To scrambled dodo eggs. No! To his wooly mammoth slippers. Even No! To his friends. This adorable, heartwarming story is both easily relatable and highly enjoyable for kids.

Every parent and toddler will identify with Noah Noasaurus who woke up feeling very NO! Charming, funny, (I love the illustration of the four dinosaur friends all trying to squeeze through the log at the same time) and a great read aloud! Kids will love to chorus in on the many NO’s!

Noah is having a NO kind of day, and all he wants to do is get away from all of the people who are trying to turn his bad mood into a good one. As he heads to Nowhere, though, his friends decide they want to join him. Will friendship and fun turn Noah's no into a yes? Read Noah Noasaurus to find out!

NO says Noah - but you should say YES to this book.
Someone in my family who shall remain nameless often wakes up feeling very No so I smiled from the opening page of this book, all the way to the perfect ending. Share this with the dino-lovers, and fellow No people in your life.
