On a humid, hot summer afternoon in New York City, Omari walks into a bar and spots a gorgeous, mysterious woman on the brink of tears as she watches her home country getting completely crushed in the World Cup of Soccer on the big screen television. Omari can’t take his eyes off of the beautiful woman so he buys her a drink, sits down at her table and after some pleasant conversation, finds out that her name is Andressa.
What starts off innocently as a few drinks shared between strangers quickly leads to a scorching-hot, erotic night of passionate sex. However, what should have been the beginning of a steamy romance goes awry in a way that Omari never saw coming as he gets caught up in the deadly entanglements that Andressa was still trapped in. Her dark, dirty little secrets put both of their lives at risk.
Keith Kareem Williams is the author of over 20 books & 7 screenplays. He still resides in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York where he delicately balances his time between his responsibilities as a single father as well as the challenges of being a full-time author. “In interviews, one of the most difficult questions I’ve been asked is, ‘What genre are your novels?’ because honestly, I never write with any particular style in mind. I enjoy blending styles and mashing different genres together in interesting ways. Basically, I pen whatever is in my heart and soul. However, if I had to describe my style I would use musical terms and say that I write Urban, Hip-Hop, fiction with the rhythm of Reggae that crashed into Heavy Metal and then began to bleed Neo Soul. I write Alternative Urban Fiction.” One of the things I'm most proud of is how my children look at me with pride because I'm accomplishing my goals and doing the things I set out to do with my career. They recognize and respect my passion. I write constantly and I already have the titles & plots lined up for my next 92 novels. This is what I do and I'm just trying to let the rest of the world know this. My ambition is to become as legendary as some of the writers I admire. I believe that a GOOD writer pulls you into their story. A GREAT writer makes the world around you fall away as you read. The LEGENDARY writers tell stories that become a part of you and linger long after you've read the last line of the last chapter. It was once said that, the pen is mightier than the sword. I say to my fellow AUTHORS: Let's advance our craft until it's mightier than guns, grenades, bullets & nuclear bombs. If not, then put your pen down and fall back. Those of us who are serious about this will run you over as if we were riding in tanks.” – Keith Kareem Williams
"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine. Play it, Sam. Play As Time Goes By. Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine." Casablanca
Omari had no idea that making a routine stop in a bar and seeing a "pretty lady" sitting alone would lead him to lust, obsession, murder, and betrayal. The "pretty face" led him down an unimaginable path thanks to a scheme that no one saw coming. The story moved quickly and held my attention from Chapter 1. The characters had good chemistry. The author did a good job displaying when Omari became consumed with the "pretty lady". Great plot, good structure, and engaging content. I will say the ending left a lot to be desired. It didn't seem that he would be so accepting. However, the ending does leave the story to be open to a sequel. I also don't think it belonged in the erotic thriller category, but all in all, it was definitely a good romantic thriller/suspense read.
I haven’t had much success with reading books this year. Kiss Me Before You Say Goodnight is the only book that I have finished, though I’m hoping to add at least one more before the year ends. As a matter of fact, I may make time to skim through this one again very soon. Why? Because in the day that it took me to read this book, I forgot about all of my troubles and focused solely on the amazing chemistry between the two main characters, Andressa and Omari, and the drama that unfolded as a result of their relationship.
Williams jumped right into the steamy action in the first chapter and kept me hooked for the remainder of the book. The plot isn’t overly complicated and neither are the characters, which I appreciated. Andressa was as dangerous as she was beautiful and Omari was whipped. In some parts I found myself going crazy over some of Omari’s decisions regarding Andressa, but then I remembered that I, too, have been foolishly in love (in lust) and made some questionable choices as a result, so I couldn’t judge him too harshly.
I appreciated how quickly the story moved, but I didn’t want it to end. Spoiler: The ending leaves the opportunity for another book, so maybe there will be one in the future! While I won’t say that this is my absolute favorite book from Keith Kareem Williams, (Glass Goddesses, Concrete Walls still holds that title) this one ranks high on the list for me.
Obsession or infatuation, is there a difference? When you are obsessed you are preoccupied with someone but when you are infatuated you are admiring that person. But truly is there a major difference? If all feels the same, right? The main objective is that your attention is held by a certain person. What happens when it turns extreme? Are you capable of walking away or do you have to follow the feeling through?
Omari is a regular guy. He goes to work and comes home. There is nothing that stands out in his routine. Until one day when he goes into a bar to have a drink and realizes that there is a beautiful woman sitting alone. Being the gentleman that he is he approaches her but what he doesn't realize is this is probably the worst idea in his entire life. Omari's life is turned upside down and trying to figure out how to upright it is going to be the most drastic time in his life. What should Omari do, he is too deep to turn back? Will life ever seem normal again or will he be on this whirlwind indefinitely?
Andressa is a beautiful woman, any man can see that if he isn't vision impaired. Her physical qualities are enough to make a room full of men pause. Andressa has a different agenda on her mind but no one would ever have guessed her plan. Andressa is a very cunning player in this game we call life but while she plays, how many will get hurt? Is she the best player at this game or will she lose in the end?
Kiss Me Before Saying Goodnight is a romantic suspense novel. You have two strangers who have a chance meeting and before long they are partners in crime. They characters are intense and compliment each other which makes the story flow nicely. It is a short read but it has you reading and watching for more. Williams is an excellent storyteller and he keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for what is coming next. Great job once again, you don't disappoint.
Poetic Justice.... This author doesn’t keep you in a comfort zone, writing in several genre giving you something different with each release. This tale was captivating and filled with suspense, heat and poetic justice.
If there was a perfect example as to why you should scrutinize a pick up in a bar, this will give you pause. When Andressa decides to deviate from her plan and set her sights on a different mark, Omari and Andressa end in an intimate tangle. The morning after brings on a new set of challenges that neither of them were prepared for. Passion was evident with this couple, but a committed relationship would definitely have its complications.
Matters of the heart is dangerous and when it feels threaten, one tends to make irrational decisions. Omari didn’t take heed to the warnings and what I thought was some timely advice from Uncle Bob, finding himself in a protective mode one day and a vengeful the next.
The ending left me thinking we haven’t seen the last of Andressa and Omari.
This was a slight change from the normal books I read in some ways. The ending of course left me wondering how it truly ended. Was there really a baby? Time will tell.
