California based technical writer Maddie Travers decides to come home to the Washington DC area to spend the holidays visiting Sara, her old college roommate as well as her family.

There were lots of interesting characters in this book. My favorite was Maggie's gradma. She was sweet, funny, wise and most likely in an early stage of dementia. Katherine and Gerald were Sara's wealthy friends who were an eccentric brother and sister duo. Dom was Gerald's company assistant.

Sara deals with finding as job that she has a passion for and also makes a difference in people's lives. When she relocates back to the DC area a suspenseful event takes place that causes her to consider her true feelings for Dom as well as for her new boss Edward.

This is a sweet and quick read holiday novella that will find readers believing in the power of love.

I enjoyed reading this story. There were a few surprises. I was glad when Dom and Maddie got back together. I do wish it had been longer.

The story was fun. A great weekend read. I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator (audiobook), but the story itself kept my tuned in.
