Jon Clark's THIN is a completely unconventional horror story about an overweight woman who encounters a nightmare when she attempts a miracle weight cure. The story's most compelling moments are when the ordinary protagonist has to use sheer willpower to overcome her situation, employing gritty and often disturbing means. It's intimate and visceral and completely unlike anything in comics today.
Been venturing more and more into graphic novels and the subject matter caught my attention on this one. I enjoyed the idea behind it and even the interesting art work. I did find it got a bit monotonous as the story went on though. Started off well and even rather emotive but as it went on, it got a little flat. I also wished we had a more empowering ending for our lead character. But all in all, still an enjoyable and quick read with some appreciation to the unique art-work that almost feel like paintings on your pages.
