Peach Tree #2

Peach Tree Love

Rate this book
When his job prospects fall through, Mitch, a gruff handyman with a big heart, ends up in the small town of Peach Tree. He doesn't plan to stay, and he definitely doesn't plan to fall for a guy, not after thinking all his life that he was straight. But plans change.
A quick stop at the local café turns into a job offer to fix up an old house. That's a lucky break to a guy desperate for work who has a little daughter to take care of.
Now he and his daughter, Sammy, have a place to live for as long as the job lasts. But one major complication comes with working there. Helping Mitch with the renovation is a hot and outgoing young guy named Rico.
Rico isn't supposed to stay in town either, and he knows better than to fall for a straight guy. Too bad he isn't into following the rules. His heart yearns for what it shouldn't, and he just can't stay away from a hunk like Mitch.
Even if they have nothing in common, the heat between them is undeniable, and they can't resist each other.
As the two men work side by side and grow closer, a break-in disturbs their daily life. Will a secret hidden in the house bring danger to Rico, Mitch and his little girl?

**** A GFY romance found in the town of Peach Tree.
Stopping at the cafe in Peach Tree was a smart move for Mitch. Grandma had a house that needed renovation and Mitch and daughter, Sammy, 4, could live there while he worked. Rico/Enrico, is Grandma's grandson who works at the cafe, and is deciding his options for his life, so, Grandma volunteers him to help Mitch on the house.
* Mitch is straight, blue-eyed, tall, dark and handsome, with muscles and a serious demeanor.

* Sammy is a cutie with happiness and fun on her mind.

* Hazel-eyed Rico is a slim, toned, gay man who's flirty and upbeat, and gets along with Sammy right away.

So, the journey begins for Mitch to realize his awareness of Rico, and why no other men have ever drawn him in like this, GFY. This little town is sweet and the folks are friendly, plus there will be a gay wedding coming up for Rico's friends.

Grandma reels Mitch and Sammy into the festivals and town activities, and we have a mystery man searching for something at the house. There is abundant angst and misunderstanding as Mitch and Rico find first time love, and new M/M emotions to navigate. They clash repeatedly because neither is communicating well enough.

I liked the tale because it's fun and a bit quirky, the characters are lively and the ending is wonderful. It's entertaining and finally reaches romance status.
ENJOY !

So..... like a big ol' noob, I went and read this book first without reading the one before it.
I know, I know... I should've looked, but hear me out.... I saw two hot guys, a little girl and some adorable kitties, and I clicked it... it's what I do! I'm definitely about to go back and read Wyatt and Sam's story though.... cuz hello... two hot guys, two little boys and some puppy's!

So, in this one, we have Rico, who's spending his summer, working for his grandma in her little cafe in Peach Tree, when a broody hot guy and his adorable daughter walk in. Overhearing him on the phone, he's heard that his job and living arrangement just fell through and is compelled to tell his grandma.... who's the biggest busy body if I ever seen.... but in the best way!

Mitch is going through a rough time since gaining custody of his daughter after a lenghthy and costly battle with little Sammy's maternal grandma. A handyman and all around Mr. Fixit, he has to go where the work is, meaning they never stay settled for long...even though Mitch would love to give her a place to call home.... A little house, with a yard and friends....
That's when Mrs. Del Rio comes in... offering him a job, with a little house to fix up and all the help he could need from Rico, who just seems to go along with what she says because it's much easier than trying to fuss with her. Her intentions are always from the best place though, and I think she wanted Mitch for Rico...

Agreeing to the temporary job and place to stay.... Mitch is surprised that Rico and Sammy get along so well, especially once they discover two baby kitties under the porch of the little house they're renovating. Now, of course, things can't always be that easy.... these guys aren't just attracted to each other so ta-da!! All together... Nope.. Mitch has gone his whole life straight as an arrow... I love when that happens. There's just something about Rico, though... something charming and beautiful about him...and everyone knows how attractive it is to see someone amazing with your kid... keeping her happy and just caring about her like Rico did.

It's a little bumpy in the beginning, with Mitch newly accepting his bisexuality and Rico being jealous.. I thought he was a little extra there a few times, and in reality... 99.999% of their problems would've been solved right away had they just talked to one another and said how they were feeling... but they were just getting to know each other, and I've been known to be a little irrational and a touch psycho, myself, so I could relate LOL
It was realistic.... which made it frustrating, but it's why I as glad they had Wyatt and Sam to talk to, and Grandma to do everything in her power to push these two together.
And come on, it all worked out in the end... even if there was a little excitement there towards the end... I loved it all!
What a great addition... I'm gonna go back and read Sam and Wyatt with their little boys now... and I can't wait!

Mitch and his daughter Sammy show up in Peach Tree cafe for lunch. Mitch was on his way to another job but it fell through. Rico mentioned it to his grandma and like that Mitch has a job and a place to stay fixing up the old Dunbar place.

Mitch says he's straight, but really comes to discover he's bi. Sammy's mom died in child birth, but Ellie never wanted to be with Mitch like that. It was just a one night thing that led to them having Sammy. She always said she'd never marry Mitch because she didn't want someone who didn't actually love her. Mitch and Sammy lived place to place and job to job. Mitch has kept them going since Sammy was born and the custody fight with Ellie's mom over Sammy. Though her mom died which was how Mitch finally won the right to keep his daughter. He lived in fear that the woman would run off with his daughter again.

Peach Tree quickly becomes a place that not only Sammy loves, but Mitch too. Friendly people and he discovers that he's falling for Rico. They have some moments I could have shook them both and screamed at them, but finally figured it out. Thanks to some talking tos and Sammy as well.

Mitch asked Rico to marry him after Sam & Wyatt's wedding, which was spectacular too. I thought Sammy & her kittens were sweet. Rico was so protective over her especially after something happened. He changed his mind on how he felt about a guy with a child too. It was one of those moments that Mitch didn't get the whole details about too because he eavesdropped. I could have popped him one for jumping to conclusions so quick.

I can't wait for another book and Mitch and Rico's wedding. Trina has done another marvelous job on this. I'd love to be able to live in that town. I also want to know if Noreen and Lara are ever going to get together they way they are and keep being told to just get together.

I don't know if this book count as Gay for You or not since Mitch got eyes on Enrico and never with other men but Mitch kinda stated that he was Bi and he didn't know it before because he was too preoccupied with his life with Sammy.

Nevertheless, this book just like Wyatt and Sam's. It has dramas because of their misunderstanding and miscommunications. It dragged too long because Wyatt and Sam's wedding happened here in this book.

What's bothering me was how, Mitch got into bed with Sammy's mother, Elli since he said "we weren't together, we were just friends." "We just happen to fall into bed one night." It made me wonder if he was drunk or both of them drunk but I really hate that type of "accident" happened in books.

Too long and dragged out.

Trina, this book was way too long and you kept dragging it out. This book was supposed to be about Mitch and Rico and yet, Sam and Wyatt were in just about every chapter excluding the sex paragraphs! Forty some chapters is way to long that could've been covered in twenty-two! And I have to ask, what happened to the money from the robbery?

Incredibly saccharine. Is this how all straight women see gay men?
