A list of self care items based on the zodiac

This book gave me a good list of things that I could do to increase my level of self-care based on my zodiac sign, Libra. The first half of the book tells you about the signs while the second half is a list of self care things to do based on your individual sign. It reminded me of things that I enjoyed to do as a child that I should get back to. I would definitely recommend if someone needs some ideas on self-care.

ASTROGRAPH - Libra in Astrology

According to the Stars is a thoughtful and engaging guide to aligning self-care with astrological wisdom. Authored by seasoned astrologer Constance Stellas, this book delves into how the traits of each zodiac sign can influence not just personality but also the types of care, rest, and restoration that best serve individuals.

What Works Well
Libra Zodiac Sign - The Scales | The Gilded Witch
Customized Rituals: Each zodiac sign is paired with specific, tailored self-care ideas. From nature walks for grounded earth signs to mindfulness practices for cerebral air signs, the book makes a genuine effort to personalize wellness. Elemental Themes: The author uses the four classical elements—Fire, Earth, Air, Water—as an organizing principle. This provides a rich framework for understanding one’s needs beyond just the sun sign. Approachable Tone: The writing is accessible and inviting, avoiding jargon. It feels like advice from a well-read friend rather than an impersonal guide.
Room for Improvement

Over-Reliance on Stereotypes: At times, the descriptions rely heavily on traditional zodiac stereotypes, which may not resonate with everyone. Repetitive Suggestions: Some self-care ideas—like taking a bath or journaling—appear across multiple signs, making parts of the book feel repetitive. Structure and Navigation: While visually attractive, the book could benefit from clearer organization, perhaps with checklists or summaries for easy reference.
Reader Impressions

"This book gave me fresh ways to care for myself that felt surprisingly aligned with my personality."

"Some parts felt generic, but I still found it soothing and enjoyable to read."

Verdict

According to the Stars is ideal for readers who enjoy astrology and want to blend celestial insight with modern wellness practices. It’s not a deep psychological guide, but it offers warm, thoughtful suggestions that can bring comfort and inspiration when used with an open mind.

Having previously bought Stellas's "The Astrological Guide to Self-Care: Hundreds of Heavenly Ways to Care for Yourself—According to the Stars" I didn't really expect anything to be particularly different, but was still a bit disappointed. The information is basically the same and some tips repeat themselves (i.e. recommendations to get fresh air or open windows etc - I get it! Libra's an air sign!) or are so vague/generic/applicable to ALL signs that it seems pointless to put it in a sign-specific text (i.e. meditation, eating almonds as a healthy snack, drinking enough/more water, breathing exercises, travel).

It's a fun read in that some of the tips are interesting (one I liked was using pure quartz) but overall for the price I could've gotten the book for all the signs for very little more (the ebook at least would cost just 1 USD more) and gotten roughly the same info. I can't really recommend it in good faith unless you're a total newbie to astrology and/or want a pretty book to look at.

I finished it in around an hour. It is a short and simple read. The book's content is exactly what its title suggests - some tips for self-care according to your Sun sign. I quite enjoy the first part of this book about Libra and air signs in general. As a person with Sun Libra, I have read tons of interpretations and descriptions about my Sun sign, yet the author's writing is still able to reveal interesting (and obvious) aspects that carry some enlightenment. The remaining is so so. If you are seeking some new ideas for self-care because you are bored with current routines, or you want to begin self-care but not sure which activity is suitable for you, give it a try. Just don't set your expectation too high =)))

This book was ok. In all fairness the book was exactly what the title describes; simple self-care tips. There were some good suggestions but honestly I was more interested in the beginning of the book where the author went into detail about Libras and their characteristics. I’m not sure if I’ll be revisiting this book.

It’s what you expect from the title of the book. Includes brief introduction to astrology, sings, ruling planets, elements. The self care aspect are interesting... some that are easy to do (cloud watching), some that isn’t (travel the world)

I'm investing time and attention into myself this year. I enjoyed the insights this book has to offer, and I'm sure I'll reference it later.

I do wish that some of the self-care tips were more diverse, but I've got enough ideas to get me started.

Wow I’m really a Libra/air sign. Read this on scribd but I want to get a copy for myself. A lot of these self care tips are relatable and I want to use them.

It's a nice concept, but a lot of the statements are repetitive. I enjoyed it, but learned very little new information.

There were some great self care tips in this book. I don’t know that they are specific to Libras, but there were some good suggestions.

Actually nice to have a book confirm things I do for self care and see it affirmed as something my zodiac sign would do. Definitely some good tips.
