If she'd known the sexy, dirty-talking playboy behind the bar in New Orleans was a single dad, would she still have spent that weekend burning up the sheets with him?

Very likely.

A girl can't be expected to resist the take-your-panties-off trifecta— jazz, bourbon, and naughty words said in a southern drawl. Not even a single mom with a ton of priorities that extend beyond the bedroom.

But if she'd known just how dirty he'd play when he decided this could be the real thing, she never would have come back for a second weekend.

Probably.

Prequel to Going Down Easy

Hot, hot, hot!

This is the start of Gabe and Addison's affair. It is extremely short and extremely hot.

You do not have to read this prequel before their full length story, but it definitely revs you up to get the next book and get reading.

I love books set in NOLA and was pretty excited to check out this novella that introduces Erin Nicholas's Boys of the Big Easy series. Gabe Trahan is working in the French Quarter bar he owns with his brother, Logan, when his friend Elena walks in with her friend, Addison. Gabe knows all about Addison from a series of texts she and Elena shared some time ago. Sparks immediately fly between Gabe and Addison, and they decide to induldge in a weekend of debauchery.
There was no risk here. No complication. No disruption. She’d be in town a couple of days and then gone. Really gone. It would be so…easy.

But they both know the weekend is all they'll have.
"... No phone number exchange. No talking about personal information. Just here and now,” she said.

He slowly shook his head. “I can’t agree to that.”

This couldn’t be anything more than a weekend fling. That much she knew. For one, she lived in New York. For another, she didn’t have any room in her life for a guy. She shrugged, trying not to look disappointed. “That’s how it has to be.”

He leaned in, his forearms on the bar. His voice was low as he said, “Yeah, well, how you like to be touched and how your nipples taste and how you sound when you come are all very personal and I need to know those things.”

Her entire body felt like it was melting. “Okay.” She cleared her throat. “I’ll allow a few exceptions.”

Things get hot and heavy pretty quick, and as much as they'd like to delude themselves into thinking it's just sex, it definitely isn't. They like each other. But Addison lives a world away in NYC, and they both have something else to focus on. What happens when a weekend isn't enough?

This was a quick read, and I am definitely moving on immediately to the next book in the series. It was hot and fun and captured some of the ambiance of New Orleans. And this quote sort of reminded me of one of my favorite fics:
“Do you want to lick powdered sugar off my cock, Addison?” he asked roughly.

Also, now I want a Pecan Praline milkshake.

There were a very few things I didn't like, mainly that they were operating on the assumption that not exchanging numbers or emails or other personal details mattered at all. They have a mutual friend, and Addison went to Gabe's place of business--that he owns and has an apartment over. It just takes away some of the anonymity she especially wanted to have since all of his business was basically out there. I put this in my review of So Easy also, but just in case you're like me and can't find that story, you have to sign up for Erin Nicholas's newsletter to get So Easy. The link was included at the end of this book, and honestly, I would have liked to have read it first since so much of the text exchange is mentioned in this novella. With that being said, they pretty much go over all of it, and I think you'd be fine not reading So Easy if you just want to dive into the story. The last thing I wasn't crazy about happened at the end. I'm being picky, but I was pretty surprised Gabe left Logan in a packed bar. 🤷

Easy Going is a quick, fast-paced story with lots of heat and fun banter between the characters that definitely has me anticipating the rest of Gabe and Addison's story.

This is a great opening to a new series from author Erin Nicholas. This is a short story and leaves things open to the next book in the series. I wouldn't say it has a cliff-hanger, just that you know there is more to come. And be warned you'll be eager to read that More. This is a HOT series opener and one you'll want to pick up today!

This is cute. It's short and sweet, a little look into Gabe and Addison's time together before the start of book one. It's a few dozen pages of banter and smexy times and all things New Orleans, and its kinda perfect that way.

~
"What do you know about pralines?"
"I can make you a praline milkshake that will make you want to propose to me," he told her honestly.
"Huh. What's in that?"
Playful. That was exactly his impression of her from the texts, and he couldn't begin to describe how amazing it was to find out she was the same in person. "Whiskey, caramel, ice cream, and-"
"Say no more," she said. "I want that."
"You got a ring in your pocket?" he asked.
She laughed. "Maybe we New York girls are harder to impress than the girls you've been feeding whiskey to."
Yeah, maybe. And damned if he didn't want to find out what it would take with this one.

There is cursing (including f-bombs) and sex in this novella, so if those things bother you...why are you reading an Erin Nicholas story? Those things are a given where her stories are concerned.

This is a seriously sexy, but also seriously sweet introduction to Gabe and Addison's story. I loved seeing the way that they met and the little bits of the start of their relationship that we hear about in Going Down Easy actually playing out. I also loved Addison's conversation with Stella and wish that had been a part of the start of GDE because it showed a side of her that made her come across so much softer.

If you're going to read Going Down Easy, you HAVE to read this first, it adds so much to an already amazing book.

This book was perfect for what it is: a prequel novella to the new Boys of the Big Easy series. Gabe is so sweet and sexy, and totally head-over-heels for Addison from the get-go. And I love that she returns! It is great to see how much fun they have together at the beginning of their relationship, before things get heavy and real.

Easy Going was a quick, steamy read detailing how the couple in the first full-length book in the series, Going Down Easy, met.

When Gabe Trahan mistakenly reads a conversation between one of his friends and Addison Sloan, Gabe is instantly drawn to the woman on the other end of the conversation. After Addison ends up in Gabe's bar in New Orleans, an attraction quickly sparks between them. When Gabe offers Addison one hot night together, she's immediately intrigued and jumps at the chance to spend time with one of the sexiest men she's ever seen. But will one night really be enough to play out the passion that's building between them?

This story opens with Gabe waking up after a drunken night in Vegas to a chiming phone next to him. Thinking it's his phone, he opens up the message to find a conversation with a mystery woman. From there, Gabe convinces his friend to invite Addison to his bar in New Orleans so he can have a chance to meet her. The remainder of this story is about the pair's time together after she shows up at the bar. The chemistry between Gabe and Addison is fantastic and they immediately are interested in one another although Addison is clear nothing will happen beyond their one night together. But boy is that night an incredibly steamy one. The scenes between Gabe and Addison are so well done and definitely had me wanting more of these two.

Overall Easy Going was a fun read and I will definitely be picking up Going Down Easy sometime soon.

This novella that introduces the Boys of the Big Easy series is hotter than my black dogs on a sunny summer day. The interaction between Addison and Gabe is something that will make you determined to go on to the next in the series. Ms. Nicholas' mix of fun, sex and heart throbs (to say nothing of powdered sugar) makes for a memorable read!

Easy Going is the starter to a new series, Boys of the Big Easy. In this short story we are introduced to Gabe Trahan and Addison Sloane, the attraction is instantaneous and the sex is explosive. It's only supposed to be a fling, nothing personal shared, but after six months they are still going strong. But each is hiding a secret from the other and Addison is thinking it's time to end this and Gabe...the complete opposite. The ending is a cliff-hanger, you will want your hands on the next book immediately and that installment will pick up exactly where it let off.

Easy Going is quite the page turner. I love how Ms. Nicholas twists the history, architecture, and magic of New Orleans into Gab and Addison's story. I'm intrigued by Gab and Addison. There seems to be a much bigger story with these two. I'm curious to read what happened in their lives prior and after they met.

Easy Going is a prequel novella for the Boys of the Big Easy series.

Gabe Trahan was infatuated with Addison Sloan’s red heels since he saw her picture on Elena’s phone way back in Vegas when he thought he married Elena. Long story, you’ll have to buy the book haha.

Gabe wants to get Addison all to himself to get to know the woman behind the text messages that got him all hot and bothered. He doesn’t know how long she is in town so he needs to make a good impression and fast. He pulls out all the stops to get her attention and make her want to come back to NOLA.

Addison Sloan is in town for the weekend for work. Her friend Elena takes her to a local bar owned by friends and she sees Gabe Trahan. Holy pralines he is hot. She remembered texting Elena back in Vegas when she thought they’d gotten married. She was flirting, she never flirts, but there was something about him. She agrees to spend the night with him that turns into the weekend but can she get on a plane back to New York.

Easy Going is a great lead in for the Boys of the Big Easy series. Gabe and Addison have some steamy chemistry but they are both holding onto a big secret. Can they make a relationship out of one weekend fling?

This is a fun, sexy beginning to a series. It introduces a couple brothers who own a bar, a few of their friends and the locale in New Orleans. It is very fast and only a start. The couple just meets, has a weekend together and it sets the stage. I wouldn't even call it a HFN.

Confusing

I love the Author but her writing style is a little confusing. I feel the story keeps going back in forth to different times in Logan and Gabe’s lives. But still Worth the read definitely

Original review: https://myshelfbooks.wordpress.com/20...

It seems I haven’t started enough sagas already, so I wanted to add one more to see the following books yelling at me for not paying them enough attention. I can’t help myself, though. Goodreads is for me like a candy shop for a kid (although I also share that feeling…). This short story was free on Amazon, so it was perfect as a starting point. Too bad the story itself is rather forgettable.

Here we meet Gabe, the über sexy male specimen who is the owner and bertender of a popular bar in New Orlenas. On the other hand we have Addison, a businesswoman from New York, who is visiting a mutual friend in New Orleans. Gabe has been dreaming about her since some accidental texting between the two of them and now she in his bar…

I now the word easy is right over there in the pretty title. but I was not expecting that adjective to be so notorious in such a short story. Just a couple of words between them and everything is rolling. If that were all of it, then I wouldn’t have any issue. But this is supposed to be the prologue for the next book where the relationship between Gabe and Addsion should develop. But… is there really anything else to tell? They have already met, they have already flirted, they have already have sex and they have already missed each other savagely. That is usually the end. I thought the following book would have a bit of drama due to Gabe being a single parent and maybe Addison wasn’t OK with it. But she is also a single parent, so I can’t see how any real drama can develop from that situation.

This story is too much for such little room, but that is not the main problem of it. I need to talk about the huge elpehant in the room that every single one in the bar ignores and it’s pretty insulting. I’m talking about the mutual friend of Gabe and Addison: Elena. She is also friends with Logan (Gabe’s brother) and a couple of firefighters that are usual customers. All of them are at the bar the night Gabe and Addison meet each other. And all of them take part in a pretty rude and childish game that a so-called friend doesn’t deserve. All of them treat Elena as if she were an idiot, treating her like the kid in the adults table. And no one cares!! It is so annoying! Addison even lies to Elena to avoid spending the weekend with her… I know maybe I should not take the situation like that. That everything was done in good spirits and without real malice. I beg to defer, though. Friends shouldn’t behave like that under any circunstances.

And Gabe should at least think a little bit about his son, don’t you think? I bet he barely sees him due to a crazy schedule, but he is incapable of sparing a thought about him and he is 100% focus on Addison. Let the mother and the uncle take care of him… Pretty mature… And don’t make me start about his speeches during sex!! What was that?? How can anyone talk so much just seconds before the climax?? I guess at that point I was so pissed due to Elena’s situation that I was seeing red every step of the way…

I want to end with a positive note: the cover is amazing! I love the colourful title and the guy doesn’t hurt the eye, either.

Marked as a prequel but obviously refers to events that have already happened - I guess in another book. Elena fake married Gabe in Vegas to get a chopper flight over the Grand Canyon. *blinks* okay…
This is soooo repetitive for such a short story.
I was pretty doubtful about what a good friend Elena is to Addison. Addison is in New Orleans from New York. Elena takes her to a bar and doesn’t notice the barman is flirting with her friend, then she bails out and leaves her alone in a town she does not know, suggests one of the guys will walk her back to her hotel, and departs with the vague comment that she’ll see her on Monday. [I think it’s Friday night] *eyebrows raise* some friend?!
It’s mentioned that Gabe is Elena’s friend so he’s worried about picking up Addison, and Addison thinks nobody will know about this hookup, but come on… she’s the architect who wants to do the renovation job on this bar, and it’s pretty unprofessional to fuck the client AND he’s the guy her friend fake married.
He’s also happy to dump his kid weekend to hook up. [hook up, then get out of bed early… if he’s already decided she’s a keeper before the sex, what’s the big hurry? He might also want to mention that he has a kid if he’s planned this as a long term thing (without her input, I might add).]
*I have big issues with this*
“Do you want to lick powdered sugar off my cock, Addison?” he asked roughly.

Eeek… do NOT put sugar on your genitals, people.
Btw ‘powdered sugar’ is mentioned soooo many times - maybe twenty? I know beignets are the New Orleans ‘thing’ but honestly…
Ugh
Did not finish at 44%
[I mean I’m out before the sex… that’s bad for me]

Oh… this is the second DNF for this author. Two strikes…

Erin Nicholas is a brilliant author. I just adore her books. She really can create amazing stories. She understands what her readers are looking for in a story and always delivers. She can make you cry and laugh and have heart swooning moments all in one chapter. She creates realistic stories that can easily grab you and bring you into that world. She even makes her characters struggles relatable to her readers. She captivated her readers from page one and keeps them captivated throughout the entire book.

In Easy Going we get a prequel novella to Erin's first book in a brand new series, Going Down Easy. We get to read about the first time Gabe Trahan and Addison Sloan met and their hot weekend. From the moment Gabe and Addison meet there is instant chemistry and you get to read about one amazing, hot and passionate weekend in New Orleans that was meant to be a one time, no strings attached weekend. You get hot and sexy bartender's, delicious beignets, amazing jazz and sexy adventurous moments.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Easy Going. I loved reading the moment they met. I loved the chemistry and details and descriptions about jazz and places and Beignets. I loved getting to read bits about New Orleans. I loved the chemistry and passion between Gabe and Addison. I really loved hearing about when they met. As I mentioned before Easy Going is a prequel novella to Going Down Easy which is the first book in a brand new and exciting series. So grab your copy and fall in love with the Boys of the Big Easy series prequel like myself and so many others have.

Easy Going is a sexy teaser for Erin Nicholas' new Boys of the Big Easy series, and OH MY GOODNESS...I think my Kindle MAY have actually short circuited, this was so steamy! I actually read Going Down Easy, Gabe and Addison's full novel before I read this teaser, and that book started off with a bang that, well, sent me straight for a cold glass of water and some air conditioning, I'll tell you that! And basically? This teaser is what led to that very hot opening... Gabe and Addison had an accidental text message meeting due to a swapped cell phone snafu a few months ago, and Gabe has been intrigued ever since...and when Addison (a New Yorker) shows up at his bar in New Orleans one night on a business trip? He turns on the charm full force to win her attention. Addison isn't looking for a relationship, but she could do with a steamy fling...and Gabe looks good to her! The chemistry between these two is palatable, both personal and physical. Easy Going is a short story, just the story of one (VERY) hot weekend between two consenting adults, no strings attached. But you can feel Erin Nicholas' working her magic and weaving those roots all over the place...and you just know it's going to lead to more stories. I was SO glad I already owned Going Down Easy, because of course I immediately had to dive back in and re-read it as soon as I was done with this one. {sigh}. There's just something about these Boys of the Big Easy. I promise you are in for a treat! You may want to have a cold shower handy. And some ice cream. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Reviewed at Romance Is Ageless

Easy Going is a quick introduction to Going Down Easy, the first full length story in the Boys of the Big Easy series.

It’s hot. It sizzles. It intrigues. And it’s the perfect buildup to Gabe and Addison’s complete story which we’ll get in Going Down Easy. The chemistry is off the walls between this couple and you’ll need to know the whole story. I had read the first story before I knew the prequel existed. It didn’t change my opinion of either book, I think they’re both smokin’ hot excellent… but reading this introduction short prequel really does set up what will come in the full length story.

If you like your heroes hot, your heroines sexy and stubborn then you’ll love this series. I was hooked from the start and enjoyed every second spent with Gabe, Addison and the rest of the cast. I’d recommend this series without hesitation, and I cannot wait to dive into the next story.

I own a Kindle copy of this story.

Easy Going is the introduction to the Boys of the Big Easy series and it was quite the introduction! We meet brothers Gabe and Logan Trahan, owners of the bar Trahan's in New Orleans and legendary players. Gabe and Logan are friends with a local architect, Elena LeBlanc and through a series of texts, Gabe corresponded with Addison Sloan. Now Addison has arrived in the Big Easy for the weekend to meet with Elena and are stopping by the bar for drinks but Gabe has a lot more planned for this intriguing woman from New York. The plan is simple, one weekend of good times and then they each go on their merry way. Or is it? Easy Going is a hot introduction to the real story which is Going Down Easy and I will be reading that next because I want more of the Big Easy! This story brings the heat, laughter, sounds and tastes of New Orleans come to life. It's told from dual POV and I give it a big YES!
