Another great addition to the Silverpines series. This time the owner of the two saloons in Silverpines, Flora, is down to one saloon after the devastating earthquake and loss of most of the men in town. She struggles with finding a new barkeep since her previous one was one of those lost and puts an add in the paper. Mac is looking for a more laid back position instead of all the responsibility he had in Maine and goes to Silverpines to answer the add. Little did they know but Flora and Matt have a history from many years ago and each had loved the other. Can they now find that love again or be forever alone? A sweet story to warm the heart.
LOVED IT! I had wondered about Flora since the first time she was mentioned. I had in my mind this "worn out" woman who was a bit older. However I was pleasantly surprised with her description. The characters in this book were great. I loved how the story played on Ms. Donovan's other book in the series. The collaboration that it must have taken to write this series is unthinkable. The details, spirit, and attitude of these books are fantastic.
I highly recommend this book along with all the other in this series. You will never regret buying these books. I am anxiously awaiting the next in the series!
Flora Adams owns the Lucky Lady Saloon in Silver Pines and has a son Jackson. She owned two saloons but one was buried under the mud slide caused by an earthquake. Mac was a business man who owned 50 plus saloons throughout Massachusetts. He decided to retire and left his main man in charge while he went about his life. He answered an ad for a barkeep in Silver Pines hoping it was his dear friend, upon arrival he was in pain because of a back injury. This book has suspense, intrigue and love written in to keep all interested. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
A Saloon keeper with girls that go "upstairs" but still go to church, without changing anything...? Flora left the man she loved behind because she was worried once they married she'd never be able to follow her dreams. Mac fulfilled his but feels something's missing. When he sees an ad for a Barkeep with familiar initials, he hopes he's found his old love. It just wasn't enjoyable. How can it be a "christian" book and have the owner promoting the activities without remorse or wanting to change? It doesn't fit.
I really had to force myself to finish this one, hoping against hope that it would get better as I’ve really enjoyed this series.
Flora was a bee with an itch! What a horrible woman. And how she treated her only child! Ugh! If Mac was an actual person, he would have turned around and left town five minutes after being in that witch’s presence. Honestly!
The entire book was nothing but anger and conflict, and then two paragraphs basically at the very end there was a happy, happy, joy, joy quick ending.
Flora is strong and independent. Jackson is a growing young man with a hidden past. Flora guards him and his past like a mamma bear. Her saloon is needing a new bar keeper since she lost her barkeep and good friend Gus. Mac needs a slower pace. More back pain from all the lifting decides it. A fortunate discovery of an ad for a bartender gives him hope with F.L. Adams holdings. As a contact. Now sit back and enjoy the show.
This is the 13th story in the Silverpines series. We get the story about Flora who runs the saloon and Mac her former boss who comes to Silverpines to barkeep. The storyline also includes the town orphan, Jackson, who does odd jobs and is watched over by Flora. This is a nice continuation of the series.
Flora gets more than she bargained for when advertised for a bar keep, and Mac discovers a family he never knew about when he takes a chance an answers the ad. One more good man for Silver Lines.
Fears and uncertainty lead to decisions that affect life times but the truth will prevail and circumstances lead to the facts becoming known and two hearts seek each other out.
This book is part of a really good series by a group of authors and each book has been good. I especially enjoyed of Wanted: Barkeep. The book keep my interest right from the beginning.
Mac and Flora have a long history. On top of that they actually love one another. They just don't want to realize it. Their tale, with all it's twist and turn make for a fun and enjoyable read.
Another great book in the series! I am looking forward to reading more books in the series as they come out. Each of them has kept me reading and very happy.
I really enjoyed the characters in this book. I am looking forward to more in the series.
This is my first time reading a book written by Lynn Donovan. I came across her while reading the Silverpines Series. Well-written sweet story with a good plot! I look forward to reading more by this author.
I really enjoyed this story and hope for many more from Lynn Donavon. It was a touching story about an unwed mother in a time when it meant almost certain doom. I wish all stories had a happy ending but then we wouldn’t have to read them instead of live them. Enjoy 💜
Barkeep by Lynn the Donovan. While I liked the characters in the story it was a little bit of a disappointment. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
It seemed like I read this book in no time. The story drew me right in. The story was unique enough but also weaved seamlessly with the rest of the series.
It was as if she had walked away from him just yesterday!
Mac has always loved Flora, but she is not going to welcome him with open arms when he brings her past with him. Flora has too many secrets both past and present...is there any way she can keep her secrets and have a future with the man she has always loved? This visit to Silverpines is packed with passion, feisty outbursts, hidden secrets and lots of hope! Join Flora, Mac and Jackson for a bumpy journey of discovery! I love the Silverpines series which is all available on Kindle Unlimited.
Thomas /Mac and Fiona /owner of the Lucky Lady Saloon. I enjoyed reading this rekindle love story. Although a bit slow and Fiona was a bit to thick headed for my liking. It was hard to really like her even at the end. Their story has a some what satisfying HEA.
