Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.
I hadn't read a lot of Sweet Valley High when I came to these books, but my friend recommended it, so I grabbed them. I had to ask her who a few of the characters were, but for the most part I followed the action, and I got really involved in the story. Sweet Valley experiences a devestating earthquake, and the whole town is in ruins, and some lives are torn apart. I got much more emotional with this book than any other in the Sweet Valley franchise.
