Rate this book
Elvis fans the world over constantly dream about what their fantasy would have been if they had been lucky enough to have known him. Imagine having been Linda Thompson's best girlfriend and being with her the night she met Elvis. Then imagine becoming Elvis' friend, being kissed by him, working for him, and the ultimate dream: having sleepovers at Graceland with Linda (actually sleeping in his bed) while Elvis was away, traveling with Elvis and Linda on concert dates, and taking pictures of the upstairs area at Graceland. This book tells the story of how it all began and gives you a look at the incredible (some never-before-seen) pictures.

A light and quick read, with some interesting insights into Elvis and Linda’s relationship. I especially found it interesting how there were some contradictions between Jeanne’s and Linda’s accounts. I wonder which one is the most accurate! Ultimately though, as with most Elvis books, it left me feeling sad.

Very interesting, intimate look at Elvis' life with Linda Thompson - from the first time they met, until the relationship ended - as told by a friend and confidante who was there the whole way. I was very disappointed at the quality of the photographs printed because they were so poorly printed, it was very difficult to see them (and that was the whole point of this Collectors Edition!). Also would have liked to learn more about Jeanne LeMay Dumas' life before and after Elvis. (I guess the clue was in the title, as that's exactly what you get.) Still, glad I read it.
