Perfect Match
The GT Girls are sitting at lunch discussing a special computer project coming up. Only they don‘t know what it will be. Sabs and Katie hope it’s not designing your own computer program. Randy’s cool with it tho. Scottie comes by and sits with them for a minute because he wants to find Michel. Then it gets awkward. They change the subject to this guy Greg that’s been harassing Katie. As always Sabs suggest Greg probably likes her. Scottie doesn’t seem to like this (also as usual).

In class, it's as if they feared they have to come up with a computer program. The flow chart will be due Tuesday (five days away). Sab, Katie, Al, and Randy are in one group. Sam, Nick, Jason, and Greg are in another. Stacey, Laura, and Eva team up with Winslow. No questions why. Greg comes over and taunts the GT girls a little bit about his group having all the ideas and them failing.

Sabs comes up with the idea to do a computer dating match program (rolls her eyes). The first thing they do is come up with appropriate questions. (Note on the question about music they lump all the “ethnic” ones in the same category. Rap, jazz, reggae, and then they add heavy metal all of these are SEPARATE genera’s).

Stacey and Greg both ridicule the idea. Greg says typically for girls. Mr. Young likes the idea tho. The guys idea is a guessing game. Winslow’s has to do with the constellations and where different ones are in the sky. Mr. Young has this idea that they’ll all take the quiz and have a group date to see if the program dates. There aren’t an even number of boys and girls but Mr. Young says he has an idea for it. He volunteers himself. NOOOOOOO! WHY WOULD A TEACHER DO THAT? THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN R KELLY-TYPE LAWSUIT!

Katie invites her friends over to skate on her pond. Micheal invites over some of the guys (including Scottie). Katie accidentally falls. Greg catches her. Scottie gets pissed off (because he thinks she did it on purpose). It turns into an argument. They run into a issue how do they know if they match with more than one person? Winslow gives the suggestion to rate the questions. Since Stacey and her clique are mean to Winslow he says he has them outside picking out the locations of the stars. Payback for them not helping with the flow chart.

In class, Sabs has the class fill out questionnaires. They all agree to go to the movies and to Fitzes for a group date. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEIR TEACHER IS PARTICIPATING IN THIS! Stacey is trying to look at Nick’s answers so she can get paired with him. But Nick shifts in his seat. Katie thinks its probably already too late but at least everyone else’s will be accurate. The matches go like this. There are seven couples. Randy and Arizona, Allison and Jason, Sabrina and Mr.Young, Stacey and Winslow, Laurel Nick, Sam and Eva, and Katie and Greg. Stacey comes over to their table with her usual threats. But they find out Winslow copied Stacey’s answers to get even with her.
Katie and Scottie have a fight over her telling him she had fun with them ice skating and him telling her there will be another practice but she and her friends shouldn’t come. Then she brings the project up and then doesn’t help. At lunch, she sees him sitting with Stacey with his arm around her.

A rumor gets passed around that Katie sabatauged the program so she could get set up with Greg. Sabriona tells Randy they have to tell her. All day Katie got strange looks. They both realize this is the reason Scottie got upset. Al tells Randy Stacey is telling everyone that Scottie is going to meet Stacey at the movies so she won’t have to go with Winslow. Stacey is even going around saying Scottie is her boyfriend. Now they have to convince Scottie before he gets in any father with Stacey. They all tell Katie what they heard.

When they meet up at the mall later, Scottie is standing at the front of the mall with some of the guys and Katie has to pass him. Sabs says Stacey was there earlier and he brushed her off which proves he’s only trying to get under Katie’s skin. This really doesn’t make her feel better. Everything goes fine on the date. Even Mr. Young and Sab find they have a love of movies in common. Greg is surprisingly nice. He confides to Katie the reason he acts because he does is to get attention. His mother died and his dad basically ignores him. He says he never meets anyone like Katie but she doesn’t like him like that. Her friends tell her she has to tell Scottie straight out that she likes him. Katie does tell Scottie that she doesn’t like Greg as anything for a friend. She says she doesn’t want a boyfriend but if she did.. He says even so would she still date him occasionally. Then they challenge each other in a skate match.

My Thoughts
Interestingly I’ve thought of having a computer software program and my idea is a hell of a lot more interesting than a computer dating program. Mine had to do with the series I’m creating. But I do appreciate the lesson of what it would take to get created and made. I have to admit that some of the “computer talk” lost me completely. And then thing that turned me off was and I can not repeat this enough. YOU DO NOT AS A TEACHER PUT YOURSELF ON A COMPUTER DATING PROJECT WITH YOUR STUDENTS (AND MATCH YOURSELF UP WITH A STUDENT). That just made me cringe every single time I read it. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS? If I was Mr or Mrs. Wells I would have been down to Bradley Junior High so quick demanding to know why the hell my TWELVE YEAR OLD was matched up and doing on a date with a TEACHER. A teacher that didn’t seem disturhed in the least at this and took these kids out on the date in HIS CAR! Did this man get fired after this? HE SHOULD HAVE! I don’t care how “innocent” it tried to play this off this was just WRONG and ODD. And HE suggested it. Did you notice *that*? Was he trying to relive his youth or something. NO JUST NO. As for Scottie.. How many more books do we have to go through Scottie’s jealousy? He was jealous when Katie joined the team. He was jealous over Michel. ITS GETTING OLD! At this point, it’s like Katie JUST DATE HIM AND TELL HIM HES YOUR BOYFRIEND so he’ll STOP TRIPPIN. But I wouldn’t want this guy for a boyfriend because he’s RIDICULOUS! I take it back, Katie DON’T date him because he’s possessive, and if that’s how he’s gonna act when another guy shows you attention and not trust you then NOPE! Just tell him off and be like “You have a REAL problem and I don’t want NOTHING to do with you until you get some anger management counseling.
