4.5 - "I found my balm in you..." Stars!
Part two of the Belle duology continues a couple of days along from where its predecessor left off. Belle and Dean are still very much working through what happened between them towards the back end of part one, but they are also now noticing definite shifts in the way their relationship is now starting to move along, and become more than a business transaction.
Some of our lines had already blurred, and neither of us had done a damn thing about it…
You definitely need to have read the previous part of this story to know what is now going on with this couple, as expected and because of the nature of their agreement, the sex is again diverse, kinky and plentiful, but the deeper bonds are now also starting to be forged between them, is this now a couple who can see a future for themselves after their two month retreat on the island of Ixora is over?
Belle was the woman, the submissive, the partner I had never realized I needed…
As with the first part, it was the high quality writing and likeable characters that kept me invested in reading, Liz has managed to give me a story with a main theme that I tend to shy away from reading now, and keep me interested because of those qualities. Again it was pretty easy to see where the drama would likely stem from, but it wasn’t overblown and I loved the ending this couple were given.
At some point, what had started as a job had turned into paradise, into a dream I never wanted to wake up from…
Really enjoyable, and beautifully written, the first couple in the Unbowed Series, have now found their groove, Penny is up next in early 2019, and with the nibbles of information given in the latter stages of this book as to her feelings towards the man she is going to be paired with, I am expecting another enjoyable (albeit kinky) romp to follow with her as well.

5/5 - if there was a higher rating I’d give it...
I didn’t think the story of Belle and Dean could get better than part one, I was wrong.
After the cliffhanger ending of part one I had no idea how either of the main characters were going to regroup, heal, and be better. This isn’t just a BDSM forced proximity story, this is a story about finding oneself and accepting the freedom in being who they wanted to be — both by themselves and together. Belle and Dean bring out the best in each other both in the vanilla realm and kink aspect. Dean’s backstory and very real drama with his brother and father made him a character I wanted to root for; and, watching him fall in love Belle was special.
Liz is legit with her BDSM knowledge, it’s not cheesy or negative. Besides the various toys, and mannerisms of a Dom and sub she brought up sub-space, thank you Ms. Meldon. She handled a taboo subject with enough romanticism but was able to treat it with the seriousness it deserves. The lifestyle was given proper credence, from collaring to living it 24/7 and the negotiations that are a must.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I could read a story about Penny she comes off cold and distant. BUT the teaser and brief interaction with Felix was enough to make me jump up and down for their story. Felix is beyond interesting I cannot wait to see this Dom’s kinks!

Belle by Liz Meldon is Book 2 in the Unbowed Novels. This continues the story of Belle and Dean.
I do feel to fully enjoy this book you should read the previous book.
Belle and Dean as we learned in the last book some trust was broken and feelings taken to another level. In this book they are working out their emotions and where they really want to go with the feelings that have just grown. Each has issue that are hard for them to release but for love anything is possible.
This has been a great duet and a page turner for me. It has some hot / taboo scene by written well I thought given the subject. I will be looking for more books by Ms. Meldon.

I liked this book. It was a great story line and continued a great story of Belle and Dean. There were a couple parts that made me a little nervous and it is definitely NOT for the faint of heart. But over all great way to finish the story.

If you had loved Dean in Part I, then you'll go GAGA over Dean in Part II. He brought all his game, his sweet side was better than ever and so was his Dom side.
Watching these together in all the sweet moments, protecting each other, supporting each other, loving each other was amazing. And the kink got way more intense. Belle really flourished under Dean's hands.
These two needed each other in their lives to be their true selves and they were finally able to figure out what they needed out of life together. I loved watching their journey and watching them overcome their past, their fears, watching them become the person they were meant to be, and specially doing it together. Their relationship was much more than the kink, and I loved that.
Belle was actually a very sweet story, way beyond the Dom/Sub relationship. It's a story about allowing yourself to be true to who you really are, about knowing your worth and knowing when it's time to let go of things and people...and most of all a story about finding the right person for you, the one who helps you see life in a new light, who allows you to be yourself and loves you for everything that you are, good and bad.
Liz killed it once again. I love how she writes her kink but never forgets her romance. For me it's the perfect combo in a book like this. I truly enjoyed Belle and Dean so much and I cannot wait for Penny and Felix's duet.

You know when you eat something spicy and it hurts a little but it's sooo good, and it totally wouldn't taste the same without the heat? That's this book. The writing is descriptive enough that your butt cheeks might twitch a little during a few scenes but it's a delicious kind of hurt.
Belle and Dean reconnect in Part 2, with Belle growing bolder and Dean coming to realize that he needs to step up in more than one aspect of his life. There is drama, conflict, personal development (and of course some very sexy scenes) which all leads to a very satisfying conclusion that is a thoughtful and realistic glimpse into what a Dom/Sub romantic relationship might look like. And, masterful as Liz is, she sets us up and leaves us drooling for the next book in the Unbowed series about Penny and fashion-designer Felix. I. Can't. WAIT!

Liz Meldon for me is the ultimate writer of kink with her salacious BDSM love stories, she just gets the level of kink oh so right every time. Her reads draw you in and are magnificent page turners. I have to read them in one sitting and always look forward to every series she produces. The words of this inimitable writer fill me to the brim with joy, so beautiful, so enticing and oh so enlightening, and leave you with happiness and a full heart! What beautiful characters Ms Meldon painted of Belle and Dean and there smouldering sex scenes.
Can Belle and Dean move on after the ultimate rule she broke around his secret art room, and can he forgive her for the indiscretion? Is she still Belle the escort as she tries so hard to remain distanced? Was this feeling Belle has with her glorious Dom right between them or is she reading it all wrong, especially now that she sees the true Dean? Could she paint the colours of his soul? Dean has now become her addiction and drug of choice can she let him go at the end of the contract? Oh. My. Good. Lord. I’m not personally into BDSM but ... wow is Liz Meldon’s Belle ever so astoundingly, deliciously, wonderfully, hot. Addictive too. I’m reviewing both Part 1 and Part 2 of Belle even though they were published separately (as the first book, or first two books depending on how you count them, of the author’s Unbowed series). There’s just no way (nope, not at all) that I could have paused at the end of Part 1. It’s past 3am here. I’m going to pay for this tomorrow but I don’t care. Belle was just that good and sooo worth it. Yes, it’s a great explanation of how I imagine a good BDSM relationship should work, with mutual respect and trust, and lots of what’s ultimately truly consensual enjoyment. But this book goes so much beyond the dom/sub relationship with a plot and characters that are genuine and complex but also lots of fun. It does not matter what your own orientation is, if you want a great story this book is for you (though, trust me, you’ll be panting too as it is yummy hot). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - these two books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the combined Belle Parts 1&2 is (are) most definitely “one to read”, and it is easy to highly recommend the combined work. I’m definitely looking forward to the next duet of book launch in the Unbowed series. My only caveat is that I really do think that reading the two without stop is the best approach, do I might suggest buying duet book 1 when it comes out (as that usually when the price is best) and then waiting to start until having duet book 2 in hand. Luckily that’s not an issue anymore with Belle.

Part 2 picks up shortly after Part 1 left off. Belle and Dean are dealing with what happened previously. Belle honestly should have walked away after the incident, but for some reason, she sticks around.
But there are more obstacles to come for our couple, in the form of Dean's worthless brother, and his checkered history with both his brother and his father. Seeing Dean and Belle come to terms not only with Dean's family history, but with both their deepening feelings is just about perfect. I loved their entire story, especially their conclusion. Dean is the kind of Dom I prefer - dominant but not cold, naughty and dirty but not disgusting, firm but not too controlling. His control of Belle and her pleasure (and pain) is iron at its core but sheathed within velvet. The very best kind of Dom. And Belle is the very best sub - the one she wants to be, the one Dean wants her to be.

Masterful! Absolutely Masterful! From word one, the prose, the flow, the characters, the story - all of it had riveted. Book one gave us the beginning of an arrangement with all the ups and downs of Belle and Dean getting to know each other and Belle learning her role as his submissive, giving us just a taste of what could be between them. There was emotion, yes, but it was just the tip of the iceberg. This second book takes it all to a whole new level as Belle learns more and more about Dean, his highs and lows, his insecurities, and when she starts to assert herself while still maintaining her submissive role, it's impossible not to love these two as a couple. The thing with this story is it's really not about the happy ending because let's face it, there's no way the author would create a couple this perfect for each other and not give us their happily ever after, this sensually erotic tale is about the journey, and Belle and Dean's journey is one I won't soon forget. The author describes Belle's story as contemporary romance with kink, but what she neglects to mention is that while it is a Dom/sub relationship and there is plenty of kink, it's also about the heart and how it will have its way regardless of the rules. Once again, Liz Meldon has given us a beautiful love story with wonderfully rich characters and terrific prose that sticks with you long after the last page is turned.

This is Belle and Dean's part two and I loved reading it. It was nice to read how Belle slowly stepped out of her carefully crafted submission mode to embrace a little bit of boldness and brash. Good thing Dean loved it when he said "my kitten has claws". Their relationship in part two went to the next level of intimacy. Dean was falling in love with Belle and she with him. The lines between being lovers and being Dom/sub were becoming blurred. Belle's relationship with Dean was more comfortable and she was able to speak freely to Dean. Dean also shared his carefully guarded secret of his art with her. He also confided to her about his struggles with his brother Richard and his father. It was amazing as Dean and Belle became more and more comfortable around each other. Part two really delved deep into what Dean liked to do with and to Belle. Belle also discovered more of her limits to Dean's delight. The two of them were able to find harmony in their relationship that covered their kink and nonkink time. I really enjoyed learning about their Dom/sub relationship that grew into more. I was so glad about the ending. It was truly a happily ever after. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

March has descended upon Ixora Isle and Dean and Belle's relationship has bloomed. Both of them are about to experience events they couldn't ever be ready for. But they have each other and that'll be enough. Or will it?
Belle is a Queen, a badass and swear to Ares, I'd follow her into any battle she wants. Her character arc is one of the best ones I've ever read. His was the purest kind of love and just I CAN'T GET OVER HIM. His character development was so so amazing and important to watch.

Our heroine entered into a contract to be a submissive for two months on a tropical island. At the end of part 1, the lines between business and pleasure were starting to blur.
Here, in part 2 of the story, we get our conclusion. Without spoiling the journey, let's just say our characters get their HEA, but it won't be a smooth or easy ride. There is give and take and the building of a deeper trust necessary to move to the next level.
Note: The two parts should definitely be read in order or you won't understand how they got where they are.
The writing remains stellar, the characters well developed, and the story engaging. At the end of Part 1, you probably jumped immediately into this volume because you had to know how it resolved. Well, be prepared to just rip through this part as well because you won't want to put it down.
There is plenty of D/S and BDSM activities in this book, as well as some hot and steamy sex.
Highly recommended for fans of such things.

This is the second part of the Unbowed series about Belle and Dean and my favourite of the two books. This book was far more developed, was more fun, it had more of the angst going on which was lacking in Part 1, and made it so much more interesting. The characters were easier to connect to as well and although this is about dom/sub relationship, romance is much more to the forefront in this part of the book.
Dean and Belle have got more used to each other over time on the Island; their personalities, their lifestyle's, the problems and secrets they keep hidden all come to the fore in this part of the story. I really did connect with these two people and enjoyed them more this time around.
I think the author has done a good job in character development and the sex was much more intense in this book. As for Dean I liked him but I didn't love him, I wanted him to be much more alpha male than he was portrayed to be in the story but all in all a good read that thoroughly enjoyed.

This story is part two of Belle and Dean’s story. Dean paid Belle to spend 2 months on a private island with him as his submissive. However, before they knew it things got a bit more complicated.
This book was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed the story. I really liked the characters and the plot was a very well written one about two people getting to know each other, finding trust and a true friendship and finally love with each other. Part 2 has more detail and depth to the relationship as well as family issues popping up with Dean’s awful brother and father. If you like a good love story with some kink this is a really good one to check out.

Liz Meldon excels at pulling you into the lives of her characters. Belle’s and Dean’s preferences may not be those of many. However, that isn’t what I found myself focusing on. I couldn’t help but key in on the differences between the interaction of Belles’ family and Deans’. Hers was accepting and supportive. His, to me, was more dismissive and exploitive.
Belle is an individual who dares to enter the lifestyle that calls to her. Dean is an individual who finally is able to pursue what he wants in life and not what others want of him. Together, they achieve what most couples want – a relationship of shared interest and desires and a relationship of love and support.

I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book. I don't want to give any spoilers. Belle and Dean are in their final month on the island. Continuing to evolve their lives during their two month getaway. Things are definitely intense with these two. What I love about how Liz has handled this book is that everything is okay, as long as it is consensual. Will this be a Pretty Woman ending, as Belle would say, a movie ending, or real life, go back to the way things were? This reader certainly hoped movie ending HEA! I highly recommend, if you've not read Liz before, you should start. I cannot wait for Penny's story!

This is essentially what happens in this second part. Their relationship intensifies both sexually in their BDSM relationship as romantically.However, the problems with Dean's family and Belle's doubts that she is still only the escort employed instead of more, disturb each of them.

This is a well written follow up to the first book. The author once again brings strong characters and weaves an interesting story line. It's one of discovery and learning each other and their evolving relationship and their journey along the way. It moves quickly and smoothly and is a beautiful story of love.

Liz Meldon is one of my favorite authors, she is the queen of romance with great endings. When I saw on her Instagram that she created a new book, well I just had to read it. I read part 1 and have been lusting for part 2 which did NOT let me down. Belle and Dean’s story is drool-worthy, the way these characters develop an attachment with each other is amazing and the twists and turn of the book keep things interesting. This part goes into debt on how Dean is feeling and shows the build and transition in their relationship. Meldon’s books are great when you want a good quick smutty read with a heart pounding romance.

Two months on a private island and Belle and Dean grow closer and their relationship deepens. In this book we also learn about how Dean's father and brother mistreated him making him the way his is today. A well written book, believable characters and the steamy, intense chemistry between Belle and Dean make this a great read. Big angsty emotions are my Kryptonite. No wait, that should read catnip. Either way, I love getting lost in books filled with them. And that’s exactly what Belle and Dean’s is. I want to call it a “sweeping romance”, because I was so caught up in their story. I loved learning about Dean’s past, tragic as it was. And I absolutely adored seeing Belle step fully into her power to support him. I kind of hate that it’s over already. I don’t want to let these characters go.

Absolutely smashing! This series was so refreshing - kink and fluff and romance with absolutely zero cliffhangers or the kind of suspenseful conflict that keeps you guessing.
