Sweet, wholesome books about faith, love, and murder! Three full-length novels in the Secrets of Rios Azules series, together for the first time in this collection. Each book features one of the childhood friends in the group nicknamed the Danger Girls, and each story is a complete romance. Color of Danger, Taste of Danger, and Touch of Danger were also published as solo books. Book 1: Color of Danger Life as the sister of a serial killer is never easy, especially when a former runaway Mari Del Lobo becomes a target herself. Finding a kindred tortured soul in Mari, Luke is determined to keep her alive, but it's not easy to protect the stubborn ex-rebel. Can Mari survive to solve the mystery, renew her faith, and find love and redemption?
Book 2: Taste of Danger Small-town librarian Soledad Sokolova has three days to find a hidden Russian treasure - or she and her father will die. Out of options, she turns for help to a hunky stranger, private investigator James O'Hara. But she knows better than to let a ladies' man break her heart for the second time. Bound by his word to Soledad's father, James is ready to protect her at all costs. However, once betrayed, he's reluctant to fall in love again. Will James and Soledad escape danger and find treasures of faith, love, and hope?
Book 3: Touch of Danger Rookie cop Ivan Vargas blames small-town accountant Julia Morrison for his brother's suicide, as claimed in the note. When Julia is attacked, Ivan wonders if she's right about the suicide being staged. He's determined to find his brother's killer and keep Julia safe but reluctant to lose his heart to the stubborn beauty who's known to break them... Hurt in the past, Julia has avoided letting men too close. But she needs Ivan's help to uncover traumatic secrets someone would kill to keep hidden. Can she stay alive long enough to learn to love and trust again?

I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC copy I received. Wow! This was a great collection of suspense novels. They are definitely page turners and keep you at the edge of your seat. I could hardly put them down. There is also a strong thread of the Christian message throughout. In the first, Maya is looking for her missing twin and gets help from a handsome senator's son, Connor. In the 2nd, Rachel moves to Rios Azules to escape her tragic past and it follows her. Her neighbor's grandson helps her. In the last one, Liv is asked to help Diego find his run-away daughter. This one was very informative about run-aways. Useful info.
Dangerous Love: Christian Romance Suspense BY Alexa Verde Color Of Danger : Christian Multicultural Romance Suspense ( Secrets Of Rios Azures-Book 1 ) By: Alexa Verde Color of Danger is the first book in Secrets of Rios Azules series. This is the second book I have read by Aleza Verde and I was not disappointed. The first one was the prequel to Color of Danger, and it picks up where the prequel, River of Danger, left off.. I would advise anyone to start with River of Danger, the prequel before reading any of the other books in the series. I think I would have been lost if I had not read the prequel first. Alexa Verde writes a good clean Christian romance suspense , and i have enjoyed both of them. The author again captured me right at the start and did not let go till the end. Verde writes another nail biting , page turner, that will have you on the edge of your seat hanging on for your life. I was holding my breath one minute and the next I was grinning. Color of Danger is full of action , danger , and suspense. It is a story of faith, love and murder. The heroine, Mari, is a very brave and strong lady. She is the sister of a series killer and it does not make her life easy. Another killer on the loose. Can Mari and her friends find the killer before it is to late. Is Mari’s life in danger? Who can she trust? I can’t wait to read book two, Taste of Danger.
Taste of Danger : Christian Multicultural Romance Suspense ( Secrets of Rios Azules - Book 2 ) By: Alexa Verde Taste of Danger is book two in Secrets of Rios Azules Series. Alexa Verde weaves a story that is Christian, packed with action, romance, and suspense. This is a fast paced story , so fasten your seat belt and hold on while you take a ride along with Soledad and James, this is their story. Soledad is a small town librarian and also one of the Danger Girls in Rios Azules. She thinks her dad is dead till James, a private investigator, brings him to her door. Soledad and her dad’s life is in danger. This story has lots of action, danger , love , hidden Russian treasure, and a private investigator who is there to help Soledad and her dad. Can he keep them safe? I really enjoyed this series. I highly recommend that you read these stories in order. I can’t wait to read book 3 in Secrets of Rios Azules . Touch Of Danger ( Secrets Of Rios Azules Book #4 ) By: Alexa Verde Touch Of Danger is book four in Secrets of Rios Azules Series. I have read and loved all the books in this series, but I believe Touch Of Danger is my favorite. Alexa Verde writes of action, suspense, faith, love , and murder. She drew me in right at the start and I was hooked . Alexa Verde did not disappoint. She had me on the edge of my seat trying to read faster to see what was going too happen next. She had me guess on this one all the way to the end. This is Rookie cop Ivan and Julie’s story. A note found at the scene of a dead body blames Julie as the killer. Julie is determined to find the killer, but every which way she goes someone is after her. Will Ivan help her , or does he believe the note? I really love the Danger Girls and how they stick together when one of them needs help. You can just see God working in this story. I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
This Secrets of Rios Azules Set hits all of the right buttons. There is lots of suspense, danger, drama as well as romance and also there is a thread of Christian faith running through the stories. There is an overlap of characters in these stories but I think you could read each one as a stand alone story.
I really enjoyed the first book SCENT OF DANGER Maya Hutchinson is not only a small-town cop but also has an identical twin. Her twin is missing and Maya decided to dress as her model sister January to try to discover what has happened to her. When she goes to the senator's home for an event, she is grabbed and tossed into a locked room. Escaping out the window has her being rescued by the senator's son, Connor McNamara. Cop turned PI, Connor McNamara was friends with January so as he spends the night rescuing Maya from one attack after another, he starts to realize something is really off with his friend. He guesses that the woman he is with is not really January but her sister Maya. He is totally surprised when he feels a spark of attraction to her.
This story starts with the drama of Maya getting grabbed and the action continues at a fast pace throughout the book. There were some secrets and surprises to be unveiled as they tried to discover what had happened to January.
DANGER UNDER THE MISTLETOE: This story is about Rachel Evans who moved to the small town of Rios Azules, Texas after the death of her husband. Rachel has a past as a thief and is now a security consultant. When one of her clients is murdered, she realizes her past may have come back to hurt her.
MISSING AND IN DANGER is the third book in this collection.
Having three full stories in one great collection will give hours of reading pleasure.
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.
I would like to start off by saying the only reason for the 4 star rating was for editing. This is an excellent 3 books telling the stories of the girls in the Danger Girls group, 5 girls that have been friends since childhood. Childhoods that needed each other as they only had one parent or none. They needed each other because the parent they did have was either physically or verbally abusive. In each book there is so much action you are caught right up in it as it is almost non stop. The suspense of who is behind wanting the girls dead keeps you guessing as to who it can be right to the surprising end. Of course each book also has romance and a happy ending but it doesn't over shadow the action or suspense. The books also show how the characters love and depend on God in their lives. Even though these are action, suspense novels the author proves they can be written without the use of swearing or sex , which is a nice change for someone who 's favorite genre is romantic suspense. I really enjoyed getting to know each of these girls and their men but I would really like to know what it is that has happened that keeps Lydia and Aiden apart. What has happened in Lydia's past that makes the girls so protective of this petite rifle toting girl. So I know I have to read the next book. I hope you will give even one book in this series of stand alone books a try , Ms. Verde is a very talented author that writes books you will enjoy.
Color Of Danger:Mari and Luke's story is truly remarkable. When Luke contact Mari his life will change. The troubles these two find their selfs in will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The characters in this book are all very special people. You will feel God working throughout this whole story. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review.
Taste Of Danger:When Soledad meets James her whole life changes. Soledad has always been told that her father was dead, when he showed up at her house her life becomes in danger. The troubles Soledad and James finds themselves in will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. You will feel God working throughout this whole story.
Touch Of Danger :
When Seth calls Julia to his house, she is shocked when she gets there. Julia is determined to find out what happened to Seth. Watching Julia and Ivan try to solve this case is truly amazing. There lives are in danger several times. You will feel God working throughout this whole book. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. The reaction to this book is my honest reaction to this book.
All three books in this collection are great romantic suspense. They are set in Rio Azules, TX. Each feature one of the Danger girls, friends since childhood, that basically raised each other. I loved their fierce loyalty to one another. Each book features a different woman. How can two people who seem so wrong for each other be exactly what the other needs? Alexa Verde shows you as she takes you for a thrilling read. There are lots of twists and turns; the pacing is fast; the books are intense. The characters are well-developed and likable. I enjoyed watching Mari learn about love and forgiveness; Soledad about living her life to the fullest; and Julia about trust. Don’t worry; they all get their HEAs. These are definitely 5-star books. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of these well-written stories.
This 3-book box set, “Color of Danger,” “Taste of Danger”, and “Touch of Danger”, was a fabulous combination of on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense, romance and second chances. The stories involved the “Danger Girls”, a group of girls who had endured a difficult life in early childhood and through their teen years. Each story centered around one of the Danger Girls, but because of their history together, all of the girls were in each story. These girls were always there for each other and their bravery, courage and faith were inspiring. I can’t forget about the heroes-brave men who would go to the end of the earth to protect the women they loved. These books were a pleasure to read!
Alexa Verde is a talented writer of different genres. Even though I usually do not read mystery suspense, my favorite in this boxed set was a Taste of Danger (Book 2) because unique Russian cultural tidbits were seamlessly woven into the who done plot - tasty cuisine, three fairy tale clues, an exquisite Faberge Egg, stacking dolls, paintings and more. Loved that Nowa, the German Shepherd who obeys German commands made a reappearance from a Color of Danger (Book 1). The Danger Girls are relatable, yet unique, characters. The twist and turn plots keeps the reader turning pages and up all night reading. The endings are believable with an epilogue. Each mystery can be read as a stand alone.
Each book features a suspenseful story that includes a sweet, clean Christian romance. The characters are fascinating and realistic, with flaws and traits that make them very relatable. Each couple comes together to solve a mystery and their investigation puts one or both of them in danger while also starting them on a path to a future together. Several of the characters are experienced investigators, but nothing prepares them for finding the one person God intended for them. I highly recommend this boxed set to readers who like Christian romance with a healthy dose of suspense. I received an ARC of this boxed set and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Dangerous Secrets has three page turning Christian suspense novellas about hearts restored and the difficulty of self-forgiveness, especially about the hidden secrets. Set in a small south Texas town, Rios Azules with squirrels running up the trees, birds singing in the morning, people waving in stores, neighbors being neighborly, and characters becoming better individuals, because they care about others more than themselves. The twist and turn plot keeps the reader reading till the believable ending. Alexa Verde is a talented writer and the stories will keep you warm and your heart racing.
If you love clean, Christian romances, you'll love Alexa Verde. If you don't love clean, Christian romances, you'll love Alexa Verde. She writes delightful stories, mostly set in Rios Azules with the nicest people you'll ever meet (and, of course, a few you hope never to meet). This is a great set of three books (what a bargain!), and I especially like the bit of "danger" that's added to the plots.
This boxed set of three Romantic Suspense novels is entertaining and easy to read. Each book is a stand-alone story but they are connected by the close friendship between the heroines of these stories. These leading characters form an intriguing clique made up of fascinating individuals. Their relationship interested me almost more than their individual stories. These books are faith-based clean reads.
Goodness, for a small town Rios Azueles is filled with danger and lots of drama, scary close calls let me not forget a killer on the loose, actually that would be killers as there are three heart thrumming stories in this series. I must say author Alexa Verde outdid herself while writing these books guaranteed you will love her book. I highly recommend reading them all
This is an impressive collection of Christian romantic suspense with a cast of extraordinary characters. We see God's love, protection and redemption throughout. This book is recommended for those who love Christian romantic suspense.
I really enjoyed these books. Sometimes when I read Christian books the writing lacks, but not in this case. The mysteries were very well thought out and I didn't really see the end exactly as it ended. Kudos to the author and thank you for sharing your writing.
As I said, a great mystery writer, but a little mushy. Good character development, but too much uncertainty about the one they loved. I'd like to see healthy confidence coupled with the outstanding mystery!
I have really enjoyed the series! Suspense from the beginning with a twist of romance. The series features strong women with Christian values. I would highly recommend this series.
All by the same author with interconnected stories of the Danger Girls who banded together as kids. Sometimes scary to read at night but turn by turn chase scenes and thrills and happily ever afters.
Each book was similar in content and how the male characters protected their female interests. I like that it wasn’t easy to quickly figure out the guilty persons.
I really enjoyed this set of books and getting to know all the characters in Rios Azules. Stories that include danger, romance and faith. I look forward to reading more of these books.
Well written stories that grab your interest from the beginning and keep you interested throughout. The characters are all very well depicted. I love Alexa’s stories that are set in Rio Azules. Well worth your while. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
This book contains three stories (Colour of Danger, Taste of Danger and Touch of Danger) all of which contain intrigue and romance. I very much enjoyed them.
I loved the characters and suspense in this series. It kept you interested from the beginning to the end with lots of twists thrown in. Can't wait to read more.
Color of Danger: I enjoyed this start to a new series. Suspense and danger the whole way through. I liked this town and these characters and am excited to read more!
Taste of Danger: I love how these books are full on suspense from the first moment to the last. My favorite! I was super excited to see a returning side character from the last book as our main hero!
Touch of Danger: A whirlwind that I couldn’t put down. I liked the high school sweethearts angle. I’m excited to read the next in this series!
