Fatal Allure #8

The Vampire's Return

Rate this book

With Vincent brought back from the brink of death, Amy can finally relax and focus on trying to build something resembling civility between Damon and him, to spend time with the two men that she was prepared to give her heart and soul to.

Well, in a perfect world she would be able to focus on that, but with a serial killer on the loose there wasn’t much chance for an investigator to focus on their personal life, not when it was their job to be detached and clinical.

Except this case is much more personal than she would like, especially when she recognizes the first victim as a member of her fragile paranormal alliance, and the signs are pointing towards paranormal involvement…

Will Amy be able to solve the crime before the body count gets too high? Will she be able to save the day and the lives of innocents? And for the love of god, will she be able to get Vincent and Damon to have a normal conversation for once?

The odds are against her on all counts, but when has that ever stopped her before?

Killer on the loose

Amy Damon and Vincent are getting along better with time, and there is a killer on the loose. The killer is pecking off witches one at a time, and it just might have something to do with the hunters.

Tariq calls Amy while she is at another crime scene, and tells her that the witches at their meeting house were just attacked by the hunters. And while she and Damon were there helping them, she gets a call from Jessie saying that the man she saw with the blood on his wrists was trying to get into her apartment to kill her. So Amy calls Rick for back up asap. By the time Rick gets there Damon saved Jessie and killed the man who was a serial killer. And the killer didn't know anything about hunters, only that two men gave him the poison that the hunters use and to kill the women.

Amy got a surprise when she went back to work and found Rick in his office with Tristan and handing him the files of the murdered women and making jokes like they were old buddies. Was he a hunter too, and did he have anything to do with their deaths? How was she going to explain that to Damon and Vincent? I have to read the next book asap. I would like to know the answers to those questions.

I really liked the pace of this book and all the action and mystery of the story. I give it five stars.

The unexpected is still happening. The love triangle is still trying to establish some kind of norm. Killings are not going to go away. No more spoiling, if any. These are normal questions that one has had throughout this series so far. Is there a twist near the end? I’d leave to ones conclusion.
For me, the series so far has been long. Each book does have its own story, yet it’s not enough for me. No disrespect to Martha but it is becoming repetitive for me. Unfortunately, this is where to date, I’m going to be parting ways with the series. There are tidbits that draw me in, but not enough to keep me engrossed. To date, the series still has many more reads, currently up to book 14.
For new Paranormal readers, this is good and also gives one an understanding on all creatures out there. Throw in love triangles/ones understanding on who they are/questions/searching-seeking & twists etc. a good way to be introduced to the unknown.
Respect to all authors for their creations for without the time they put into their work, we miss on many reading opportunities.

Amy is still trying to juggle her career with her newly acquired position with the paranormal alliance.
As if that's not enough, she also has to figure out what to do in her personal life now that she is eternally bonded to Vincent and Damon has just shown up at her door. This action-packed drama continues to become more complicated as the story develops with more worries for the paranormal community and bodies turning up everywhere. Who knows what lies ahead for Amy and her friends. One thing is for certain. There will always be one more story waiting to be recorded. Entertaining reading!

Oh my God!!!

When is gonna be the day that Amy, Damon and Vincent could enjoy a day off, of serial killers, crazier hunters and the daily drama. They save Jessi's life's and stop the killer. But I know it Rick is traitor and work's for Tristians and his rogue hunters. Damm I didn't see that coming. The only hope is the Alliance between the witches, vampires, werewolves and hunters organized by Amy with Damon and Vincent by her side. Ready for book number 9. I love this series..

Lacking the usual depth

I love this series and felt the storylines are unique and sexy as well as amusing throughout the novels. However this one felt rushed and skimmed, lacking in the usual detail of motive and connections the bad guy has making me feel there were unanswered questions. The ending was not at all what I anticipated. But I did love the way the relationship worked out for Amy.

Surprise I didn’t see coming

More hot sex scenes with beautiful men. Amy continues her investigations with more murders. She leads a very exciting life which take her down paths she didn’t even know existed. I love the detail in this book, but like the last one, Amy tends to monologue and I find my self skimming past the section until I get to the dialogue.

Amazing

This book was really surprising for me. The ending surprised me greatly and I suppose it shouldn't have. The characters are strong, the story is very interesting. The whole works well together.

Really good

This eighth installment brings us into the more personal side of things. While there's trouble to be had, there's also a fix to please everyone....or is it? Mrs. Woods leads us down the road for the next installment with style and a heartbreak Amy has just discovered

Brilliant

Just like the other's a great read, the whole picture and truth is all starting to build and piece together, of what's going on and who's actually involved and part of the whole setup. It's all coming together nicely.

Continuing on to the next book in series

I like when I don’t see something coming. I didn’t expect her boss to be a part of the plot. Can’t wait to start book 9.

This series just gets better and better, the spiciness is on point but now that she is into Rick. It will be interesting on where this goes into the next book.
