Bear Valley: Where rugged men find more than a safe haven -- they find their mates.
The moment I see Adelaide Spencer, I know she’s my mate. Neither of us have given ourselves to another — because we were both waiting for a moment like this. Her and me, under the stars, the night spread out in front of us, full of hope and a thousand tomorrows. But our pasts have collided in ways she doesn’t know, and when she finds out, she’ll never forgive me. Not for the mountain man I am, or for the bear I’ve been. But damn, I need her. Want her. Crave her. When our valley is threatened by outside forces, I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe. To prove that I am more than the sum of my past mistakes — that I can be her future.
The rugged mountain men of Bear Valley are ready to defend their untamed love.
Frankie Love writes filthy-sweet stories about bad boys and mountain men. As a thirty-something mom to six who is ridiculously in love with her own bearded hottie, she believes in love-at-first-sight and happily-ever-afters. She also believes in the power of a quickie.

The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💚🖤💙💜❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍 Character development: ☺️😮🙂😍🥰 Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The Hero:Gunner - a kodiak bear shifter in Bear Valley Alaska, he was shot by a rifle ten years before and he hardly ever lets his bear out anymore after his bear killed the man who shot him and killed his father. He still has scars from that shot and he has issues because of what happened. When a grizzly Bear threatens some women in the forest, Gunner immediately knows that one of them is his mate.
The heroine:Adelaide - after inheriting her grandmothers bookstore and café, she talks her three best friends into moving to Bear Valley with her. They were nearly attacked by a grizzly bear, she sees a huge kodiak bear and immediately knows it is the bear that once killed her grandfather because of her. When she was younger she was with her Grandfather in Bear Valley when he killed a bear.
The Story: There was another bear nearby, one she thought of as ‘her’ bear and when the bear let out a growl after seeing the other dead bear, her grandfather shot at the new bear and grazed it before reloading and shooting the bear again. Adelaide ran towards the bear whom she thought of as ‘hers’, she tripped and was knocked out and she doesn’t know what happened next, but she knows her grandfather died that day at the hands of that bear.
Adelaide had empathy for the bear and felt a connection to it, but over the years anger took all that away and when she returned to Bear Valley, she came armed with a gun and doesn’t hesitate to shoot at the bear when she sees it. She scares it away, not knowing that the bear, ‘her’ bear, is her mate, she plans to kill that bear to make amends for the past. Soon after she meets Gunner and is immediately attracted to him. She remembers having a crazy infatuation with him when she was a kid.
This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Reagan West. Teddy Hamilton has a deep gravely voice which I love, I have been searching out books he narrates because I like his voice so much. Reagan West is ok, though not one of my favorite female narrators, she has a soft and sort of deep voice for a female, but it is pleasant.
The story is good and I haven’t read many bear shifter books. So this was a nice treat, I think there are too many wolf shifter books out there and I like reading about other kinds of shifters. This one had a great back story though I really dislike the virgin aspect, though I can’t complain since it was in the title. Also, I didn’t really like how freaked out Adelaide got when she found out Gunner was a bear. But then again I can understand it.
There were at least a few punctuation errors. Not a huge deal but it was annoying. More care should be taken with editing before a book is actually published.
A lot of the dialogue was either cheesy and/or felt unnatural or awkward, especially things that Gunnar says. It was super cringey more than once.
The ending was a cliffhanger. We know they're together and engaged but it ends abruptly right before something possibly big happens I really didn't like that at all. So, we have to wait for one of the other brothers' books before we know this specific thing about Gunnar and Adelaide. Not good. It's too blatantly a ploy to get us to anticipate the next one. I would have read the next anyway because I want to know how the overall story progresses.
Things I don't like but that don't affect my rating -
It bothers me that the brothers are likely slutty. Gunnar says his brothers have tasted half the women in Alaska. It makes me dread the other books in the series. I can't stand manwhores. I'm very unhappy about that, I don't understand how or why the kind of shifters that have fated mates ever sleep with anyone else. They know they should have a mate somewhere out there, so sex with other people even before meeting their mate is cheating and unfair to both women (in most cases, at least in the books I've read, but its possible it could be men mates instead). I already don't like the other 3 brothers, and thst sucks, because I've really looked forward to this series.
What I did like -
The story overall was good and sweet. Gunnar and Adelaide were both very sweet characters. You could tell they genuinely felt the a spark then true connection then love.
I liked the family in general, especially the mom.
The feuds with the Spencers and with other shifters was done pretty well and adds another interesting aspect to the story that could carry on well through the following books.
I loved that Gunnar was still a virgin and was waiting for his mate. That is how all shifter books should be. It is rare for books to have virgin main male characters, and that bugs me because there are so many books with virgin female main characters. I thought it was refreshing to come across a book with the main male character because a virgin. Both of them being virgins was even better.
Overall, it was okay but not great. The story spanning all of the books in the series has potential to be really good if done right. This one had a good general story but wasn't done quite. The ending needs work, and more editing needs to be done.

This series seemed like something I would enjoy, the narration was fantastic. The story was ok. I enjoyed the setting of the books. They are all set in Alaska and revolve around 4 brothers and 4 friends.
This book was about Addy and Gunnar, the world building was ok. I find sometimes books like these almost too short to really get to know all the characters involved but also get a good sense of our Main Characters.
I think the author did a good job at this, I enjoyed the first book more than I thought I would.

I now found my new addiction with this series. Not only is it a fabulous, heart-clenching romance but its full of wonderful shifters in a stunning paranormal world. I do love a great shifter romance, and this story just flowed beautifully and was something special and sweet and had plenty of heat, heart and a sprinkle of humor. I really liked these characters and LOVED the story. A MUST read for those paranormal fans!
This new series gets off to an heart-pounding start with the mate match of Gunnar and Adelaide. Addie returns to Bear Valley a decade after her grandfather was killed by a bear, only to come face to face with Gunnar, the boy she'd crushed on who's now grown into a haunted but gorgeous bear of a man.
Gunnar is one tortured soul. His guilt over the events of the past are in direct conflict with the undeniable truth that Addie is his mate. Addie has no idea what she's getting into but she can't ignore her attraction to Gunnar either. Their romance ignites like lightning, but the fallout afterwards threatens every part of the HEA.
This was a non-stop read for me - plenty of pulsing action, snappy dialogue, and loads of instantly lovable family and community members. I'm hooked on the Men of Bear Valley and look forward to reading the entire series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Two of my favourite authors coming together for this book.... how could it not be amazing!! Fabulously written with amazing characters and great storyline. Highly recommended
I love the work of these two very talented authors they really write a wonderful series together and after reading their six men of alaska series when I saw this I had to snap it up and I wasn't disappointed I'm sure they have another hit series on their hands.
Adelaide Spencer and Gunnar Koleman are mates but with their past together do they have any chance at true love. Adelaide has returned to Bear Valley after the death of her grandmother she fled originally when her grandfather was killed by a bear. Gunnar is keeping secrets he was the bear that killed her grandfather but only because he shot Gunnar father in bear form. With so many secrets between them do they have any chance or will their love be destroyed. I'm sure that Adelaide's three friends that travel with her will be further stories in this series
A good shifter story, set in Alaska, about Gunnar and his family of Kodiak bears. He is in the woods when he hears metal meeting wood and the call of a grizzly. He transforms and chases the grizzly away. Then he smells a familiar smell coming from four women in the car, but Adelaide pulls a gun and tries to shoot him. He makes it back to his truck, puts on clothes, and goes to rescue the women. Adelaide hasn't been to Bear Valley since her grandfather shot a bear (which was Gunnar's father) and Gunnar ended up killing her grandfather. Her grandmother passed away and left her the book store. Her 3 friends wanted to start a new life so they came with her. Gunnar who recognizes Adelaide and knows she is his mate, asks her out. They are both virgins until their first date. Then a pack of wolves comes after them and he has to transform into a bear to save them. When she starts to shoot Gunnar he transforms back into a man and this infuriates her. She storms away and won't listen to Gunnar. She stays mad at him for a few days, when she goes out drinking with her friends and then ends up at his cabin. There are more problems between the Kodiak and Grizzlies and danger lurks. What will happen to their relationship and Gunnar's family. What secret is revealed about who actually killed her grandfather? I received an ARC of this book and I am giving an honest review.

Only this author could make me read a genre that I am not really into it. I'm not a paranormal girl but I'll give it a try. Chantel Seabrook and Frankie Love are the authors in question and just for them I'm doing this. So you can guess the impact their writing have done to me. their words get stuck into your mind for a long time and the feelings it evokes will stay there and will make you think... Trust me. Untamed Virgin is their latest release and tells the stories of Gunnar and Adelaide. Gunnar is haunted by the guilt of killing a man. That guilt is consuming him and the only way for him to feel remotely free is staying as a bear. But sometimes happiness can find you even if you don't want it. Adelaide seekes revenge for her grandpa's murderer. She's one goal... To kill the bear that killed him. She moved to Alaska with her friends to explore the Bookstore café her grandma left her. And now... It was a wild ride that's for sure. I'm not s fan of paranormal but I really enjoyed this book. The plot is intense, fast pace, engaging and full of mystery. The bond the character share is so strong and it made me love them even more. This book presented us with the mystic, the unknown, crime, madness as well as love, family and loyalty. A great combination that's for sure. For the lovers of a good paranormal story... This is your book. It was so good that left me wanting the next one. When will that be girld.? Soon I hope. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Adelaide Spencer has come back to Alaska to accept the inheritance left by her grandmother. When she was 13 she got into a fight with her mom and went off to the woods. She stumbles upon a bear, a big beautiful bear that she can;t keep her eyes off of. Then she hears her grandfather calling to her, then a gunshot and she heads as quick as she can towards the sound. She finds her grandfather on the ground injured but a dead bear near him. Then she sees her bear and so does her grandfather. He aims his rifle and Addie yells to her bear to run. As she runs to her bear she stumbles and hits her head. Now years later she;s back in Alaska and sees the bear her grandfather shot twice. The fact that she recognizes him doesn;t faze her. Gunnar is a bear and as he eyes the women in the car as he saves them from a grizzly he smells his mate. Now fate has taken a hand in their meeting but will their pasts cause them to go separate ways. Beautiful story of two people and coming to terms with their pasts. Fantastic story that will keep you enthralled.

"Bear Valley: Where rugged men find more than a safe haven — they find their mates." This is the first book that I've read by Chantel Seabrook but it won't be the last as I really enjoyed this first episode in the Mountain Men of Bear Valley and I simply now got to read the rest by her and the best selling author Frankie Love. This is a paranormal series about men who are bear shifters [my personal favourites as I just love anything to do with bears]. In this we are introduced to the oldest of the bear shifting brothers, Gunner and Adelaide Spencer. Adelaide has just moved to the Valley with her friends to open a bookstore that had been in the family and not expecting to find her one true love. But as soon as Gunner sees her , he knows that she is his Mate and once they kiss that is decided and he can have no one else. So beautifully written with warmth, humour, realism and such amazing characters that I found them so easy to love and enjoy their story. How will Adelaide react when she finds out Gunner's family secret? bearing in mind that she didn't even know that shifters existed in the first place? The attraction between them is so powerful that they are like two magnets drawn to each other and no one can, hopefully, pull them apart. To find out what happens you need to get a copy and discover for yourself. I certainly am looking forward to the next books in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Definitely recommended - a great start to the series.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in the Mountain Men of Bear Valley series. In this book, Addie returns to Bear Valley after inheriting a cafe and bookstore from her grandmother. Addie spend her summers there until one summer when her grandfather was killed by a bear and her parents decided it was too dangerous. Addie and three friends decided to move and reopen the store. On their way, they almost hit a bear and crashed their car. Another bear came along and when Addie saw it, she knew it was the bear that killed her grandfather because it had a scar. Gunnar is a bear shifter and when he was out one day, he came along another shifter that had four women trapped in a crashed car. Gunnar chased the bear away and then returned to his truck and shifted back to human to go rescue the women. Gunnar recognized Addie from when she used to come to Bear Valley and was shocked to find she is his mate, only he wonders if she will accept him after she learns he is the bear that killed her grandfather. I liked this story. There was more to the story that affected the whole family and Gunnar had to make peace with the past. I liked how Gunnar was also a virgin and wanted to save himself for his one true mate. Good one.
Gunner Koleman lives with a guilt that hasn't gone away since that fateful day years ago when he witnessed the murder of his father and his bear took over.... He lives with the scars to constantly remind him too. He knows with a certainty that he'll never achieve what every bear desires his mate. What sane woman would ever want a scarred man both mentally and physically?
Adelaide Spencer hasn't returned to Bear Valley, Alaska since that fateful day her grandpa was killed by that bear she'll never forget, after all it was because of her fascination with him that her grandpa was killed. She vaguely remembers the bear hovering over her as if protecting her. Will Adelaide be able to forgive and accept the bear that killed her grandfather after so many years Gunner? That is the bear that comes to their rescue from the rogue grizzly. or will she forever live with the loss of his love.
I love this short hot read of the Mountain Men of Bear Valley. Both of these authors know how to keep their readers engaged from the first page. The story has some hot scenes, secrets, plot twists and the chemistry from the two lead characters are amazing.
Addie returns to Bear Valley, with her three best friends after inheriting the local bookshop from her grandmother. Addie has happy memories of Bear Valley but also tragic ones. Her grandfather was killed by a bear.
Gunnar is a tortured soul, he believes he killed Addies grandfather. But he also know that Addie is his mate. The attraction is undeniable. However, will the secrets about the past and the fact that he is a shifter ruin their HEA??
This is a great read to start the new series. I highly recommend it.
This book is awesome. He knows she is his mate right from the start but has to find a way to tell her without driving her away. When her life is threatened, he has no choice but to shift. Will the past wipeout the future for these two individuals who are fated to be together. This is a touching story that draws you in and have you cheering for our main characters.

These are new authors to me. The storyline was good. It felt a little rushed but yet it was a story of insta-love so it's to be expected for the falling in love or lust to come fast. Read it in one sitting.
The plot is centred around the fated mate romance of the two main characters. Surrounding the plot, it is not very strong but still nice, evolving from the deaths of loved ones close to the two MCs.
The MCs are developed enough to hope for the HEA that's promised. The taste of their friends and family are interesting enough to know they are in the series and have personalities that will be fun to see develop in the next books.
The smut is average, not very detailed. But that could just be my smutty tastes craving more. It's the sort of book you can read alongside another if you need more to occupy your imagination.
To sum up, nice read with a taste of smut to add spice to the world.
What a wild ride! Bears, mates, secrets, friends , family and mountain men (yummy) fill the pages of this book. Gunnar and Addie have an instant connection, but their link will be tested when past hurts are revealed. Only with the help of friends and family is a new tragedy narrowly avoided. When these two work together the results are magic and result in a HEA that neither saw coming. I look forward to reading about the rest of the brothers and the mates they will find.
Listen. I don't watch trashy reality TV. I don't really celebrity gossip mags. I need to get my out there stories somewhere. Enter Chirp daily audiobook deals. Sometimes these things are like $0.99 and inquiring minds NEED to know! When I saw bear shifters and virgins in Alaska all combined in one book, I knew this was my reality TV. I obviously needed this. The universe was sending me a sign!
Gunnar is a rugged Alaskan man rocking the beard and living his life. He's been saving himself for the day he finds his mate. Because that's what Kodiak bear shifters do. They mate. It's this intense bond only shared by the bear and his partner. Enter Adelaide. She used to live in Alaska's aptly named Bear Valley, where Gunnar resides. After her grandfather was murdered by a bear in front of Addie, her parents moved her to Seattle. Now, her grandma is dead and she's inherited her place and bookstore. She and her girlfriends move to Alaska and that's when Addie connects with Gunnar. Their connection is intense immediately and wouldn't you know... Addie is a virgin too! The two get together, but will their connection be enough to make up for the fact that Gunnar was the bear to kill Addie's grandfather?
I know I sound lightly hysterical when I tell you I cracked up at every mention Gunnar made of his paw being hurt. It was just so out there that I HAD TO KNOW. I've come to look forward to finding these totally outlandish books on Chirp and gobbling them up. Was it Macbeth? Hell no. But was I highly entertained? Big yes!
This book is for anyone who enjoys a great love story. There is a great plot with awesome characters. Gunner, a scarred Kodiak bear shifter, was enjoying the freedom of his bear when he heard crunching metal and wood breaking. He then heard the roar from a Grizzly and the screams of women. Now this was Kodiak territory, no Grizzlys allowed. Gunner ran towards the noise and found the grizzly attacking a car full of women. He let out a roar of his own to call any of his brother bears that might be near. He fights the grizzly briefly before it runs away. Gunner watches the women, wondering how he can help them as when he shifts back to human he becomes naked. He finds he has a strong attraction to one of the females and when she lowers the car window he thinks she must feel this also, but instead she has a rifle and shoots at him, thankfully missing him. Years past Adelaide would spend vacation time in Alaska with her Granpa. They were out one day and he was attacked and killed by a bear and she recognizes Gunner as that bear due to his scars. Gunner returns to his truck, dresses, and returns to help the women. He finds out that all four are moving to Bear Valley and starting businesses there. You need to read the book to find out the rest of the story, and the secrets between virgins.

Gunner and Addy are hunted by the past. 10 year ago when she was 13 and he 16 she lost her beloved grandfather in a bear attack. Gunner lost his father, he was killed by Addy's grandfather and Gunner killed him. Both their memories 0f that day are unclear. Addy had a head injury and Gunner had been shot twice. Addy is back in Bear Valley. Her grandmother has passed and left Addy her shop and cafe. Addy and her three best friends intend to move to Bear Valley and take over the businesses. Addy has another agenda, she wants to kill the bear that killed her grandfather. When Gunner scents Addy, his bear takes notice. He knows who she is and know she should stay away form her. He just can't. He is just drawn to her and she to him. He suspects she is his mate. When Addy finds out the truth, will she be able to forgive him. Great romantic suspense. Redemption, forgiveness and betrayal. Loved Addy and Gunner. Great support characters in his brothers and her friends. Hoping that the Grant brothers get a story too. Great start to a new series. I love both of these authors their books are an automatic buy for me. I know I will get a great story.
If you want to start a series This is the way to go. Our main characters are both strong people with a past that connects them but they don't know it at first thank you. Addie still has feelings for Gunnar even though she hasn't seen him since that time her grandfather was killed. She can't seem to stop herself from being with him. Will his secret tear apart their budding relationship?
This is a great start to this series. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Addie and Gunnar sizzled with each turn of the page. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
