जब लेखक ने अपने एक मित्र की देखा-देखी अत्यधिक महँगी साइकिल खरीद ली, तो उनके सामने प्रश्न उठा, कि अब इसका क्या करें? यही प्रश्न धीरे-धीरे उत्तर में बदल गया, और महाशय ने आव देखा न ताव; पहुँच गए साइकिल लेकर मनाली; फिर मनाली से लेह, आगे लेह से श्रीनगर; और कुल लगभग 950 किलोमीटर की दुर्गम और कठिन यात्रा कर डाली; इसके साथ ही लोगों में फैले इस भ्रम को भी तोड़ दिया कि, दुर्गम इलाकों में साइकिलिंग, केवल विदेशी ही कर सकते हैं, भारतीय नहीं। इस यात्रा से पहले, और यात्रा के दौरान, लेखक के सामने तमाम चुनौतियाँ आर्इं। उन्होंने इन चुनौतियों का सामना किस तरह किया, यह भी कम रोचक नहीं है। यह यात्रा, वर्ष 2013 के जून महीने में तब की गई थी, जब उत्तराखंड़ में केदारनाथ त्रासदी घटित हुई थी। तब पूरे हिमालय में प्रकृति ने कहर बरपाया था&#

If you're a travel enthusiast and it has been quite a while since you read a Hindi book, than this might please you. The book is nothing but the journey of the cyclist, tons of names of villages, rivers, bridges, etc on Manali - Leh - Srinagar route are mentioned, which by the end of the book I almost forgot 90% of them. You will like the book most if the wild thought of cycling in Himalayas ever crossed your mind, I had such thought and this helped me finish the book. :)

Very light and enjoyable travelogue

After reading the first few pages i got hooked with this book. The author undertook a very arduous journey to complete Ladakh trip on a bicycle. I could relate to his difficulties because i myself undertook this journey alone on my bike. Its another story that i could not make it but the author has finished it successfully. He has a very good sense of humour.

Exciting, inspiring, bounding and repetetive

The book is very inspiring. The description of himalay mountains are really beautiful. The reader somehow feels that he is travelling himself.

Although, the writing is very regressive. The newness is somehow missing.
