Ashley Adams is on a mission. Years ago, her father left for Eagle Creek to find her brothers, and never returned. On her quest for answers and revenge, she meets a man with silvery claw marks on his cheek who seems to want to help her—but he’s a shifter, and despite being one herself, she doesn’t trust him. No matter how genuine he seems, her father taught her to hate their kind. Vynn Sardana is anything but nice. He lives for himself, and only himself. And one other thing—revenge. Those who marked him, who shamed him, need to pay, and he knows he’ll find them in Eagle Creek. Then he meets Ashley. She’s just as fixed on vengeance as he is, but for all the wrong reasons. As they head toward Eagle Creek, and Vynn learns her task is parallel to his, he realizes she’s his in. But when things start happening around Durga Valley, someone messing with their royalty sidetracks them. While they try to solve the mystery in Durga Valley, Vynn seeks a way to ease the hate in Ashley’s heart. Because if he can’t make her love herself the way he does, they’ll both succumb to the hate that brought them together.

WOW!! I didn't think it was possible, but the author weaved such an incredible story that I actually liked Vynn at the end of the story. For books I have had the opportunity to despise the tiger shifter, but now only respect.

It really is a small world. Ashley Adams is hiding out near Durga. She is supposed to be passing through on her way to Eagle Creek, but can't seem to leave. Vynn has got small inklings that someone was in the area. Then he saw her, cold, wet and hungry.

Vynn's beliefs are thrown for a loop after meeting Ashley. He is actually kind and concerned. Maybe life isn't all bitterness and anger. Maybe there is a brighter future if he doesn't blow it. Maybe things will workout if he can just let his mission of revenge go. But first Ashley will have to give up her mission for revenge against brothers she has never met, shifters that live in Eagle Creek. It really is a small world.

Poetic Justice

The wait was more than worth it for this book! Vynn and Ashley are two complex and compelling characters that you can't help but fall in love with. The mysteriousness surrounding Vynn is finally revealed as you discover just what he has been hiding and plotting throughout the series so far as well as why he is the way he is. And the poetic justice in just who his mate is makes this story even better. Ashley is just the perfect match for him with her own set of issues and stubbornness. I loved how Ashley got brought into the series and how she's connected to characters from previous series. As these two struggle with their own problems and learn to trust, they also once again must discover who is behind violent acts against the War Cats Tribe. This story is also unique in that parts of it are told from Ashley's fox's POV. It was enlightening to view things from the animals side of things. And the set up for the next book has me just itching to read what happens next!

Vynn was one of those characters that was just easy to hate, but not anymore. Just as Ashley fell in love with him, so did I. Yeah he's still a jerk, but a lovable one who does have a sweet side. I absolutely loved the input in this novel from their animals...unbelievable how wise they were even though their human sides were so stubborn and blind to what is really important in life.. I can't wait to read Kian's story!!!

Wow...the story of Vynn and his snark revealed....

Loved this installment of the War Cats series. Vynn has been a #1 scarcastic, nasty man for most of this series, yet you just knew that his story was going to be worthy of the long wait... Jameson does not disappoint with the amazing story of lies, deceit, pain, revenge and finally, redemption for the last person you'd every expect - though I will say that Ashley is definitely his missing puzzle piece!!!

Amazing

Only Grace could take a character we love to hate and make us root for him. An incredible tale of working through what is perceived and believed to what should be. The kind of heartwarming story that makes a person step back and think about how they might want to be a better person.
