I read 75% of this book in one sitting, the week of Passover in 2007. It's an incredible picture, showing how the crucifixion of Jesus is a bigger moment than any of us will ever be able to imagine. Docked to 4 out of 5 stars only because the first 1/4 of the book is a little too much about proving things such as Jerusalem being the same place geographically as the Garden of Eden - details that add to the premise, but the real meat here is the theme of human history being worked to enable our perfect redemption.

I did not agree with everything in this book, mostly the timeline of Christ's crucifixion week, but it is a fantastic study in one of the underlying but not much taught about themes in the Bible. I studied this book with a group of friends and we learned a lot!

I read the first 8 chapters before the extraordinary factors of this became too much for me. The suppositions made by the authors became more and more fantastic for me as Moses was painted as a type of Arthurian, the only one to be able to identify a rod planted in Jethro's garden as bearing the name of God. As the book progressed to Jerusalem being on the site of the Garden of Eden, the supporting evidence became more defined by cultural tradition and law than scripture. I do appreciate this book opening my eyes to things, such as my own cultural impediment to understanding God and westernized or Hollywoodized conception of the crucifixion. Other sources, including Joesphus, support the claim actual trees were used for crucifixion and the condemned carried cross beams to the tree. The idea Christ and the other two were crucified on one tree on different sides, I'm not so sure. Other sources seem to find that Christ's crucifixion was more formal, with separate posts that were reused on calvary multiple times. Similar to a gallows. I am glad this book has aided in the growth of others and I am thankful it spurred me on to study the Bible in depth regarding the Ark and Cross.

A "right on time" book (kairos) for what the Lord has been unveiling to me. I didn't go looking for it ... it found me.
