Fun ideas - but only if you have unlimited time and buy all her special equipment from Wilton. Like one big marketing text. "Buy my stuff and you can cook things as cute as me!" Pass.

SO AWESOME! I've been a huge fan of Ro's channel for a while now and asked for this for Christmas, and my parents, being the awesome people they are, bought it for me. All the recipes are so amazing and I can't wait to try them! Full-color photos of Ro posing with her creations make it double-awesome. And all the instructions are clear and easy to understand, with explanations of various tools and methods so even baking beginners can make use of this book. Every page is in full color (no black and white here) and it's one of my favorite cookbooks! Definitely worth adding this to your kitchen, especially if you're a beginning baker looking to improve your craft or a master patisierre who could rival even Ro herself, or anywhere in between!

I received this book as an advanced reader's copy because we do a cooking demo at our library and I wanted to see if this would be a good fit for it and it most certainly was. I loved the creative dishes that Rosanna has put together and the whimsical effect was spot on and definitely something our patrons will definitely enjoy not just for the demo but to try themselves. I also loved the fact that the recipes were simple and easy to follow and the ingredients were things easily found at the supermarkets and local markets. You don't see many of those baking cookbooks and that is why we are giving it 5 stars!

This books had some cute recipe ideas like pumpkin pie cookies, bread-stick bones, heart soft pretzels and daisy lemon tarts. However, most of the recipes had a lot of ingredients and steps which doesn't make me eager to want to try the recipes. I did enjoy looking at the various recipes and seeing the new food ideas, but I probably will not make anything from this book because it looks like too much work.

Ok first thing I have to say is no way this girl eats her own stuff because she is the size of a twig. With that being said this was a pretty fun book. There were plenty of pictures and the recipes were interesting. Many of them required quite a few ingredients, however nothing seemed overly complicated. I would buy this book, I would also gift it.

I am reviewing this cookbook from an ARC and the pictures are in black and white and there are a few formatting issues. I'm sure the physical books will be colorful and well done. The 86 recipes cover many holidays and will become some of my favorites. The foods will appeal to children and adults alike and I love the format that has exactly what equipment and ingredients you will need at the start of every recipe. There are also pictures and instructions for various techniques like melting chocolate and beating egg whites. Would make a great gift for beginning cooks as well as more seasoned ones. The recipes themselves are easy to follow and not a lot of strange ingredients. This will become a staple in my kitchen. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I found my way to this book from a list of cookbooks that were for dairy free cooking. There were very few dairy free recipes contained within, although some of them could possibly be tweaked to be (but it would be a big leap of faith because all the recipes take a lot of time, equipment, and ingredients).
As for the recipes themselves, all are cute, but this is not a cookbook for the average home baker with regular equipment and fair decorating talent. This is almost like a professional guide if you own a bake shop.
And who puts that many Reese's Pieces and frosting on one cookie?! 😳 Those were definitely special occasion sugar bombs.

It is a cute book and the premise is good. But it is frustrating that a book advertised to have recipes for those of us with food sensitivities/allergies would only have 10-15 recipes in the entire book and it's a big book. There were multiple holidays where there were zero recipes for those of us in this predicament. It would have been nice to have at least one or two recipes per holiday that met those needs. I'm glad I checked it out at the library first before purchasing because it would have been a waste of money for me.

Obviously, if you don't have this issue you will probably love this cookbook!

I first became aware of Rosanna Pansino from her Nerdy Nummies show on Youtube and the cookbook of the same name. This book contains all the charm and whimsy of the show and the recipes look fantastic. There are plenty of photos and the step by step directions look easy to follow. I think this will be another hit!

2.5 stars I guess. I picked this up on the pretense of pushing myself to be better about decorating cakes. Her instructions are decent but the photographs weren't so much about the recipes and more about furthering a possible modeling career. Rosanna is gorgeous, but that doesn't help me with my cake.

Meh

Nothing earth shattering or terribly new. It has decent recipes but it’s not a book I’d recommend. Would have liked to see more creative recipes.

I love her and her ideas but many of these recipes did NOT work as well no matter how many times I tried (I've been baking for over a decade as a part-time job).

This is baking. In this book, Rosanna is creating themed desserts and other foods for the special holidays and occasions that are in her life. From a young child, Rosanna has been in the kitchen baking and she brings that love of cooking to us in this book as we celebrate with her, all these special days. I was on a sugar high just by looking at all these fantastic creations on these pages. If you’re looking for some ideas, she has them.

Rosanna has the book sectioned off into each holiday starting off with Valentine’s Day and ending with Special Occasions (birthday, school graduation, wedding, baby shower). Here are a few things that make this book special. All the recipes in this book are marked gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan, if they apply - there is an icon for each of these. Everything in this book is homemade, my friends. So, if you’re looking for a simple, quick recipe that calls for a tube of sugar dough, you will not find it in this book. There are also full-size, colorful photos of every recipe in this book. A few of the recipes also have detailed step-by-step photos, just so you get everything right. And, I found this kinda crazy but, she included templates of the shapes that she used in her creations, in the back of the book, so you could use the templates to create your own cardboard design.

The book begins with the all the tools and candy she used and the definitions of some of the words that she uses. A huge choice of frosting recipes (royal, vegan royal, vegan buttercream, champagne, honey buttercream, vegan caramel, white chocolate glaze, (just a sample). Then, the special day sections begin for which, there are between 4-9 recipes in each section. Ingredients, directions, how many the recipe makes are included with the recipe but no nutritional information is given. A conversion table, index, and resource list of the items she used, is in the back of the book also.

Valentine’s Day recipes looked really good and included homemade churros, pretzels, whoopie pies, ravioli and mini cakes. Father’s Day had donuts, whiskey caramels, cupcakes, pizza, and truffles. These recipes are interchangeable and those cupcakes would be a winner at a bake sale or a BBQ. The caramels could be wrapped up for a present and those donuts, use a different cookie cutter and the possibilities are endless. Are you hungry yet? Some of these creations are too cute, even to eat!

I liked many recipes in this book, yep again! The soft pretzels (I could make them for any occasion or just for book reading), those salted whiskey caramels (did someone say whiskey?), the blackberry cobbler, lollipop cookies, and Santa Brownies with the suit on them were so cute. I’m debating on purchasing this book. It’s definitely one to check out.

I have not watched her on YouTube, this is solely based on the cookbook alone. The whole thing feels too contrived. There aren’t any recipes that stand out that I want to make. They seemed to take a lot of work, used a lot of candies and food dyes, which just isn’t of interest to me. It appeared that she wanted to do a cookbook with recipes to match an outfit for each holiday. Photography looks pushed and created with too “perfect” of studio lighting which is fine if you want studio portraits, but feels awkward and not genuine in a cookbook.

Cute cookbook for the holidays! And there are SO many options, and no just desserts. Candy for Halloween, dinner for Valentine's Day...there are also recipes for events like Baby Showers, Weddings, and Birthdays.
The lemon Chick cookies are to DIE for, and the carrot cake is perfection! The spice cake is absolutely perfect for Christmas time, and the New Year's Macarons...amazing. Give them a try yourself!

Initial impression: Rosanna has a lot of time on her hands. And the food is beautiful.

After finishing: I don't have the time to do a lot of these, but there are some I feel are worth that extra time and I do love the simple but wonderful flavours Rosanna uses -

(The)Wedding Cake!
Salted Whiskey Caramels
Babee Shower Cake
Homemade Fruit Gummies
Monogram Cookies

This is the type of cookbook that I go "wow" at each page. Then I proceed to go, "yeah not going to make any of this". Lots of steps and work for the majority of the recipes in this cookbook. If you like looking at pretty cookbooks and don't care if you actually make anything from them, this is a good read.

I love Ro, and while I normally get her cookbooks from the library and copy any recipes I want, I decided to just buy this one. And I’m so glad I did!

She uses easy to find/inexpensive ingredients & tools for her recipes and the recipes themselves are all fairly simply. Can’t wait to try those blondies!!

This is such a great book!

There's a ton of recipes in the book that are sweet and savory and nice pictures of most recipes. The book is broken down by occasion, like mother's day, new year's, etc. There's recipes for each ranging from fairly simple to gorgeous and complex. Pansino shares tips and writes the book as a guide to creating all sorts of treats.

Adorable recipes that look great and taste delicious, and most importantly, easy enough techniques and clear enough instructions that an average home cook like me can actually pull them off! Some of the recipes look above my skill level, but the ones I have tried have worked really well and definitely upped my baking game!

Fun baking cookbook for the whole family! Creative bakes both sweet and savory for all the celebrations in life. Less intimidating than her Nerdy Nummies. Great for making baking fun at all skill levels!

As someone who has loved baking/cooking from an early age and especially around different holidays, this has to be one of my favorite cookbooks! The recipes are well organized and so easy to follow! I look forward to trying each recipe.

The recipes in this book are overly fussy. You have to touch all the food too much to create the effects necessary. This is not really my cup of tea.
