Rate this book
Felipe Moore is the story of a boy born in a small isolated outport in the northern region of the island of Newfoundland in 1937.
It soon becomes clear to his family and others that Felipe is unlike most boys raised in such places. While his friends want nothing more than to go in the fishing boat with their fathers and to hunt seabirds or seals in season, Felipe shows no interest in either. Neither is he of much help when he goes with his father to fell trees for firewood. It is however, when he discovers his 'demons within' that Felipe finds his most appalling and heart-rending challenges that cause to question the reason for his existence and lead to thoughts of self sabotage.
