Plenty of exciting adventures throughout the entire book, with more gunplay than anyone can imagine. Some distressing situations that will keep you glued to each and every episode. No dull moments, tho. Mr. Hope certainly lives up to his extraordinary visionary writing tactics, and he apparently does an excellent job of researching prior to putting his words into meaning!

Five stars and more is the best statement I can make concerning this thrilling trail of adventures concerning displaced groups of young girls. I am definitely impressed with the author's selection of characters from beginning to end.
The storylines always perfectly described each and every episode, leaving no stones unturned. Too, I am definitely impressed with the author's selection of outstanding ability in his thoroughly descriptive scenes, although some were a little grizzly! Plenty of gunplay to satisfy your every whim!

Most definitely recommend this book to all readers, especially those who enjoy heartwarming endings and fast moving sequences of adventures that mostly end up with a happy ending. I believe everyone loving great western adventures will be more than satisfied with this specialized, dramatic and somewhat sensational storylines, as I definitely am!

Our girl Abigail, from the first book, has followed through on her desire to become a bounty hunter. She’s picked up a partner she can trust, and they have been slowly making a name for themselves. She calls herself Abby Sure Shot these days. Abby has also done some growing up, being more confident, and a bit meaner. This girl doesn’t take any crap from anybody, and she’s pretty quick with that six-gun. Abby, her partner, and a couple of Pinkerton agents have been hired by a wealthy railroad baron to find his two young kidnapped daughters. What they find is more troubling and more involved than they expected. Great characters, plenty of action, and the narration by Alan Carlson were excellent. Sophmoric, cold-blooded violence

A heroine with a broad emotional arc which is defined, but hardly developed. Dialogue which is authentic to time and place in spots, but in others is markedly anachronistic. The conversations are frequently difficult to follow because the speakers are not always clearly identified and they generally all speak in similar style and syntax. Practically all of the major characters present with anti-social tendencies and trends, often devolving into near psychotic behavior. Even the travelling priests in this story are generally accepting of the blood lust and slaughter accomplished in the story. The plot does move quickly with minor and major revelations along the way. Generally, a not very satisfying horse opera.

The Lost Ones
: G. Michael Hopf

This is a historical piece set in 1861, in the mid-west. When a set of 14 year old twins are kidnapped, most people think it's because of their rich father. It maybe something bigger. Abbie Sure Shot, a bounty hunter, her partner, and the Pinkerton Detectives are hired to get the girls back. There is plenty of action and drama throughout. I enjoyed it very much.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Alan Carlson's voice is perfect for this genre.

"The Lost Ones: The Bounty Hunter, Book 2" (2018, 2019) by G. Michael Hopf is a roaring western featuring the exploits of female bounty hunter Abby. She’s hired along with her partner, Dwight, and a pair of Pinkerton detectives to find the kidnapped fourteen-year-old twin daughters of a wealthy couple. The novel has plenty of action, with the guilty and innocent killed. Alan Carlson’s narration is well done. I wanted to give it five stars but I hate it when the author switches character perspective mid-scene. Still, highly recommended. Abby has continued to evolve as she becomes a more confident bounty hunter. She has a acquired a young man as her partner who is not as strong and courageous as she is. The story evolves the disappearance to twin girls from wealthy parents. The story becomes more involved with human trafficking with the intention on capturing these particular girls. There is violence throughout the book as Abby waits in a brothel for a kidnapper. They work with a pair of Pinkerton agents...only one of whom is searching for the children as the other works for the kidnappers. Abby's partner is killed and she escapes capture to be rescued by two priests who also shelter the young kidnap victims. The perpetrator was intent on ruining the girl's parents and has them killed. There was violence throughout; however, Abby and girls escape and are returned to family members. Abby realizes that she should nurture the love she has for a young girl she rescued in the past.

Abby Sure Shot

Call me naive, but it never occurred to me that they did trafficking of young girls in the late 1800's. Reading this book was a wake-up call. There are just some mean, nasty people out there.

A mean Abby is an efficient Abby. I loved her in this story. A little older, a lot wiser, she has acquired a hard edge to her personality. I definitely would want her on my side.

Enjoyed the book immensely. Five PLUS stars!

Lost Ones

While the story is a stand alone the major character Abigail a bounty hunter was in the previous book The Last Ride another worthy read. This book touched on a terrifying abomination of child abduction and violence. However the author wrote the story without being detailed but was still clear in the story line. Some tough area's but lessons in courage that I love sprinkled throughout the story. Well done I really enjoyed it.

Well first of all I didn’t realize this book was a sequel but that didn’t seem to matter much. It was a fast, easy read- perfect for travel and the airplane. It had TONS of exposition, like at times I felt like the author must have thought the reader to be dumb it was so much. Good story but could have been told with a lot more detail and made more interesting overall. Probably won’t pick up the 3rd book in the series.

Justice

Two young girls are kidnapped. Abby goes in search of them, only to find the case is more than meets the eye. The criminals reach as high as the state Governor. Abby sets out to kill them all.

Good story

This was a departure for me as I don't usually read westerns, however I like the author so I thought I'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised & will now have to read the others in the series.

Intense and satisfying

Well-laid backgrounds lead to the path crossing of well-defined and well-defined characters. The plotting has just enough mystery to keep the pages turning.
As long as we don't run into any more "chapters-as-books", I think I have become a firm fan.

Great book

I really enjoyed book 2, I can hardly wait to start reading book 3. Abby is smart, she has guts and she's not afraid to fight for what is right. I love this Bounty Hunter series. It's nice to escape from reality for a little while. Reading is a great way to do it.

Great read

A different angle to a good story, I feel I have read the same sort of story a long time ago but that did not spoil the book for me, well done enjoyed the book. Christian Lawton
