Three beautiful girls have won summer internships as models with Vamp Modeling, Inc. in New York. Each of them, under different circumstances are transformed into the undead, with very different attitudes and results.
Okay, so I wasn't paying much attention when I picked up the book and noticed some odd inconsistencies as I was reading. Then I found out that each girl's story was written by a different author - Well, that explains it! The first story is my favorite, with number three running a close second. Girlie girls will really like these vampire stories (heavier on the girlie, light on the vamp).

Vamp Modeling Inc. just held its annual model search, looking for the perfect girls to live up to the company's already high reputation. Thousands had tried out in various cities but only some of them had made it, and among them are three girls that stand out the most. All three know very little about the fashion industry, but they do know that they are about to enter into a world, or two, that is going to change their lives forever.
Olivia couldn't believe that she was actually chosen to be one of Vamps' models; all she did was send in a picture of herself. And now she is on her way to the Big Apple, as are the other girls who were chosen. All of it was so overwhelming, with all the paparazzi and photo shoots. And it became even more surreal when Olivia found herself in the tabloids. It's a good thing that her boyfriend, Damien, supports her, even if he is still living in Texas.
Veronika is the one model chosen that definitely stands out, just because she was the only plus-size one. Veronika had never been ashamed of the way she looked and was so glad that she could become a model just the way she was. Beating out all of those mean girls who thought she could never make it, back in Ohio, was just icing on the cake.
Sydney is far from being a bad girl, but she sure is labeled as one. Maybe it's her blue hair and nose ring that gives Sydney the bad girl vibe, but it was never like this. Sydney used to be the girl next door type, but when her father decided to leave the family behind for his girlfriend, the good girl gig was off. But Sydney only did this to get back at her father; unfortunately, he wasn't as fazed as she wanted him to be. Going to New York was the perfect opportunity to possibly have her father notice her again, and maybe get him to come back.
All three girls came to New York for the exciting experience. But the one thing they didn't know was that this experience had an ulterior motive. Who would have thought that Vamp Modeling Inc. really wanted to preserve the girls' looks forever by changing them into vampires? The name of the company itself seemed like an (un)dead giveaway. Being able to party all night long and never get tired did sweeten the deal a little, but for Olivia, Veronika, and Sydney, it may just get a little old.
Julie Kenner, Johanna Edwards, and Serena Robar are no strangers to the supernatural world, and the stories that they each provide in this very funny novel are both memorable and worth the read. Who knew that being a vampire model could be so much work? Fans of the authors' previous works and the vampire genre as a whole will not be disappointed with FENDI, FERRAGAMO, & FANGS.
This book contains three short teen stories that revolve around Vamp Modeling, Inc. Despite what it's Amazon entry says, this book is not set in the same world as the Kate Conner, Demon Hunter series.
In the Julie Kenner Story: Olivia is a straight-A student, smart and pretty, but always thought of herself as more of a brain than a beauty queen. But when her best friend and her boyfriend encourage her to enter a modeling contest sponsored by Hipster Chick magazine and Vamp Modeling, Olivia is super surprised to be one of the winners. Liv, as she comes to be known, soon finds out just how Vamp Modeling got its name...
The stories of Veronika by Johanna Edwards, and Sydney by Serena Robar are similar and take place in the same world. All three girls are actually winners in the same contest. The differences in the stories primarily being centered upon the differences in the girls themselves. (A fuller synopsis can be found at the BookCrossing journal page, linked up below.)
I enjoyed these stories, even though they were a bit too "happy ending" for my taste overall. Younger readers will definitely appreciate them, as will other more varied readers of the teen/young adult genre.
Knowing that I was going on vacation, I hit up the bookstore the to see what was on clearance. I guess I should have realized that since it was on clearance that meant no one else had bought it, but I've gotten clearance books before that turned out to be really good. Fendi, Ferragamo, & Fangs, however, wasn't all that fantastic.
I mean, it was cute and all, but it was really lacking. The book was broken into three different stories, one for each girl. I felt that the characters could have been much more developed than they were and the stories seemed to end abruptly without a lot of closure.
The third story had a fairly good ending, but I would have loved to see how the end of that story affected the other two girls. I just felt like when I finished the book I was unsatisfied. I thought since it was a book about vampires it would at least have a little action and adventure, but there was zero! It was just a fairly plain story about some girls who happened to be turned into vampires.
Overall, the book was okay. It wasn't the worst book I've ever read, but it is definitely not a must read. I'll let you all read this one at your own risk.
Where to begin? I bought this for my daughter to read. It's YA. I knew that. But so is Hunger games, Twilight, Host, etc. I am not afraid of YA. But this book was one of the worst I have ever read. How it ever got it's 3.28 is beyond comprehension. It was so boring. I recommend all my friends to stay away from this book. I wasted my time. That is 2 hours I can never get back. Ever. Get back. Never. I will not let my daughter read it and waster her time. It's 3rd grade level with some kissing thrown in every once in a while. PASS.
This is just bad. Bad, bad, bad. I know I'm probably not the target reader base, but still...I've read better YA than this, by far. I've even read better books by these authors. This book has no plot, no character development and no resolution of the storylines(what little story there is). The one relatively bright spot was the last story by Serene Robar..it was better written with more plot development and a more likable lead.
This book was pretty good. I myself like books with a lot of fashion talk and real-life action. That reminded me of Gossip Girl with a little "fictionary" edge to it. I liked the way that it had a few different stories to it, but they all seemed a bit incomplete
I LOVE Julie Kenner, but unfortunately, this book was not very good. I thought the idea of a modeling agency that changes its models into vampires seemed like it would make for excellent reading, but since this book was broken into 3 stories there wasn't enough detail or character development in any of them.
I should have reminded myself that (1) I am not really into the "paranormal" phenomenon that popped up when Twilight made it big and (2) I am not a short story lover. With that being said, I should have known I would not enjoy this collection of 3 short stories all surrounding teens being turned into vampires under the disguise of winning a chance at being a model. Meh. Moving on...
This book is definitely not a complex read. The concept is good, and I thought it would be interesting with the three different authors but it got boring very quickly
All the stories pretty much ended the same and had the same basic plot. I really wish I hadnt read it all at once, and I don't think I would recommend it for anything other than for reading if you are very bored.
This book is split into three parts. Olivia's, Veronika's and Sydney's. Those three girls won a modeling contest and were sent to NYC for photo-shots, advertising... etc. I was so surprised that the girls never meet. Overall it's that kind of book that I won't think about reading again, truth to be said.
I read the first story which was OK, but I made the mistake of reading it immediately after Julie Kenner's "Good Ghouls Guide to Getting Even" which has pretty much the exact same plot as the first story. It pretty much turned me off to the whole thing, so I didn't bother finishing it.
All these main characters are models but what no one knows is that they are vampires. Sydney and Olivia need to tell there boyfriends about there coming for being a vampire. But when they are new to a agency you never know what to expect, read the book to find out what happens.
This was an easy read. Some parts I enjoyed, some parts I didn't. The endings just wrapped up too abruptly and were just too perfect. I remember having a couple of gripes while I was reading the book, but I don't remember what they are now!
3 related stories about teens who win a fashion magazine contest to model for the summer in NYC and get turned into vampires. Interestingly the different authors approached the premise with various ideas and ways that their vampires acted. This was a quick light read!
This book is filled with three short stories that are revolved around Vamp Modeling Inc. Each story was interesting and very happy ending filling in the end. It was a slow paced book to me that made me end up taking my time with finishing it. This is definitely a book for the young adult.
I liked this. It was a good, fun, quick read. Three short stories about regular girls turned models turned vampires. It had some funny moments and some awww moments as well.
