A concise and reasonably well balanced study of Anthony Eden who was prime minister 1955-57. He was foreign secretary between 1935 and 1955 including World War Two and so has a interesting career involving the appeasement period through to eventual victory over Japan and Germany. He was awarded the Military Cross in the First World War, gave the order to raise the Local Defence Volunteers (later on Churchill's say so changed to Home Guard) and ended his political career with the Suez Crisis.
For anyone wanting a quick overview or introduction to a man who played a part of the world stage during some of its most tense and destructive periods this is a good starting point.
