As I have kept a diary myself for 54 years and never missing a day, it is always interesting to read anything on the subject. One sentence which jumped out at me: "The notion that only the high and mighty are the ones whose lives should be recorded for posterity has already blighted our knowledge of history to a shameful degree." I shall type this out in large letters and leave it attached to my pile of diaries, which is in effect, a life recorded.
