Adventism Debunked

Rate this book
Most so-called "Christian" sects and cults which came into being in the 19th century all suffer from the same problems. They all claim to be God's "end-time people," they alone "have the truth," and all other belief systems are "eternally doomed." And Adventists are no exception with claims;like this. Unfortunately for them however, they have been led astray by their false prophet Ellen White who was no more or no less than one of Satan's many mouth-pieces in the 19th century. Hence they lack spiritual perception in a number of different areas. For example, they don't know the difference between the Old and New Covenants. They don't know what it means to be "at rest" in Jesus. And they worship the shadow rather than the substance.

While the conclusion of this book that Adventism has serious problems with its theology, the way this author has argued his case is little more than a tirade that is pretty much as arrogant and misdirected as the thing he is arguing against. Written in a large typeface with lots of big bold headings that are repeated over and over again throughout the book, it has all the hallmarks of an amateur writer. His constant calling of the Adventist reader fools, spiritual adulterers, satan's slaves, poor blighters, and deluded (amongst other things) shows he is assuming that Adventists will read the book. But he has no insight into the fact that, if you are going to persuade anyone of your point of view, calling the reader names is not going to have much effect other than to turn them off. Check out these few lines from the book:

'... the only possible conclusion about them [SDAs] when it comes to their belief system... [is that] they stand revealed as nothing less than a Satanic cult. They are one of the three "terrible triplets" sharing their unbiblical and satanic rubbish with both the Mormons and the Jehovah's (False) Witnesses. All three of which belief systems came into being as the result of a satanic ejaculation in the middle of the nineteenth century.' (p. 51)

This is an example of the tone of the book. While there may be '... nuggets of truth hidden in the ... pages [of this book]' (p. 11), having to wade through abusive drivel like the above makes it not worth reading. Most of the information that does appear can be found elsewhere in much better-written books which the author actually lists at the end of this book. In fact, what is written in Tasker's book is mostly derived from these other books.

So, if you want a critique of Adventism, give this book a miss. It's not worth your time. There are better and more scholarly writings out there.
