But sometimes, love takes a path of its own …
Emily was raised in an orphanage and she had reached the age to leave. A paper had an article about mail order brides so she applied to it and Charles Trenton sent a man to pick her up and bring her back to California. He was to take a woman and her baby also, but the woman was too ill to travel so she sent the baby to be carried to her husband. They ran into trouble during the long trip, one being snow that delayed them by a few months. During this time they spent it with Indians. When they reached their destination it turned out Mr Trenton had thought they had died and he had married another woman! Read to see what happened to Emily and the baby.
Both main characters wanted to make the best of their situation, stuck together on a long western journey with a stranger's baby.
Salvatore was surprised at how well equipped Emily was for their journey. Their admiration for each other began, but they kept a distance because they knew that they were to be separated at the end of the journey.
I loved the twist at the end that allowed Salvatore and Emily to be together.
This was a different type of story. Emily was going to California to marry, she was the mail order bride.Salvador was the person transporting her to her intended. A-baby was also being sent to his father. .These three had an unusual journey. Enjoy discovering their adventures.
