Justice has called, and there’s only one hero left to answer…

Caitlin may have freed her town from evil, but the Governor who oppressed them all is still on the loose.

Now, Caitlin and her merry band of Revolutionaries take to the Mad-infested woods to hunt the Governor down and deliver revenge before he can do any further damage.

But, when they arrive at a town bound under the spell of a strange group known as ‘The Firestarters’, Caitlin starts to realize that this could be a lot more difficult than planned.

It’s time for Caitlin to jump out of the frying pan, and into the fire…

Set within the wonder of the Kurtherian Gambit Universe, discover the chaos and insanity of the Age of Madness—a time when the world turned on its head, and nothing is as it appears…

In the second (and at the moment last), episode of the excellent tale in The Caitlin Chronicles epic saga, by Masters of the Epic Fantasy, Michael Anderle and Daniel Willcocks, Into the Fire relates the continued and developing storyline with its fascinating MCs, Caitlin, (a feisty, kick-ass human and Leader of the Revolutionaries), along with her side-kicks, Mary-Anne (a vampire) and Kain (a werewolf) - oh and not forgetting Caitlin's faithful hound Jaxon!

Having ousted the evil Governor of Silver Creek and overcome his minions, the Revolutionaries pursue the former tyrannical despot from the chaos of battle, only to lose him in the nearby Silver Creek woods. Returning to the Governor's mansion and searching for clues, they discover a map that indicates their enemy's destination and immediately give chase, determined to thwart his threatened dreadful revenge on their town that has suffered so much already.

Will the Revolutionaries' hunt be successful? Where is the Governor aiming for refuge? What is the Madness that lurks in the woods?
Who is Psycho Joe - and how does he react to Caitlin and her friends' impingement on his domain?
What do they find in Ashdale Pond? Who is the first person the friends meet there? What knowledge does this person impart?
When do the Revolutionaries hope to recapture the Governor and what will happen if they fail?

As the story comes to a rip-roaring, all-action finish, (no cliffhanger), what will the outcome be for Silver Creek if Caitlin and the others don't make it back?
One can only hope the authors, Daniel Willcocks and Michael Anderle will have a change of heart and expand this truly outstanding - if too short - series... maybe with a spin-off, or individual character backstories?
Rush out and buy a copy of both books and tell all your friends to too - maybe if enough copies are sold and enough positive review generated, they'll relent and give us more - there's only one way to find out!!

.What a fun book!

Caitlin has left her home town of Silver Creek with her friends: Mary-Anne, the vampire, Kain, the werewolf, and her dog Jaxon, on a mission to track down the former governor and bring him to Justice. They travel through Silver Creek Forest following a map they found in the former governor's room. Loved every minute of their adventure as they traveled through the forest, especially Psycho Joe's Garbage Lot. But my favorite character was Mable, the 90 year old lady they meet soon after arriving at their destination, Ashdale Pond. Would love to learn a little of her back story, bet it's a hoot! Well woven together tale with enough action to keep reading "just one more page" long after bedtime has come and gone. Lots of suprised and unexpected twists. The humor had me laughing out loud while cheering the characters on. While not a cliff hanger, the ending has me pleading for the next book soon!

Exploring and expanding

It's fascinating seeing what happened during the Age of Madness and how different people survived; seeing different sides to people. There is a respect for people doing their jobs regardless of what the job is, which I very much like, too.

The new characters are great, and I especially like Mabel. There are themes that are ages old for human experience, playing out yet again, with evil being defeated. The humour brings a delightful touch to it all.

Bring on book #3!!!

I wish I could think of words that mean the same as awesome, because I feel it's a word that I'm overusing with this series - but, the thing is, that this second book is even better than the first one, and I'd considered that one awesome!

My memory problems have lost me all of the superlatives I might have been able to think of, so I'm stuck with repeating words that now feel wrong - through overuse, rather than not being true, I mean!

I loved this continuation of Caitlin's story, and have come to the realisation that, as long as there's humour being used within the story - and the humour being used IS just up my street - I can actually stomach the horror of the zombies!

Eat your heart out, Stephen King!

I've avoided horror for years, after reading SK's stories, so it's such a relief to find an author who writes such great horror, but uses humour to keep the heart in the chest, instead of constantly in the throat!

I'm totally loving this blend of horror, humour, battles, mystery, and lots of Vampire and Were action.

The constant way that Caitlin moves the target every time, is something I'm loving. She's looking forwards all the time, which means there'll be no end to the trouble she'll get herself, and her friends, into, as she tries to make life better for people.

I just hope that the next three books of the series, are as great as the first two were - and I'm going straight on to book three: Hunting the Broken, to see what happens next - because I've just got to know!

Revolutionists for the win!

Caitlin, Mary-Anne and Kain are on the path to liberating the towns under the dictatorship of the governor. How far will Caitlin go to rescue the people?
Very well written, characters with lots of depth, fast paced action all make this a book that is hard to put down.
Congrats Willcocks and Anderle!

Really enjoyed this story

Loved how Carlin gained more confidence and worked hard on strategist engagement. Loved Mable and her periods of being in the present and giving knowledge to the youngsters. Glad the mayor finally got his.

Love the trinity

I really liked this second book of the series. Once again they meet new friends and beat up old and new enemies alike. Caitlin, Maryann and Kain are fun heroes who make interesting friends and stand up for good. I am very much looking forward to the next book.

Great read

Caitlin and company get the bad guys, make new friends, wipe out a bunch of Mad and work on making the world a better place. No cliffhanger but the epilogue has me hankering for the next one. Nice work Dan and Michael!

Entertaining story that advances the overall story arc. The characters are likable and entertaining. Plenty ‘mad’ to hunt and decapitate. Plenty of individuals to save. There are several new and interesting characters introduced as the core team seeks the governor.

Caitlin seems to think that a sword is principally a prop to wave around while making stupid quips.
