Proclaimed handsome elite businessman, Yuto Shinonome, falls in love at first sight with Tamaki, a beauty who’s exactly his type. It hits him like a ton of bricks when he finds out Tamaki is actually a guy!! Nevertheless, Yuto still acts like a kid with a crush and teases Tamaki like there’s no tomorrow … How can perverse Yuto handle love!?
The only reason it is not higher is the first sexual encounter is rape. Sexual assault and dubious consent is common in BL especially, the older series, but i cannot like or recommend stories like this with a clear conscience. That is not to say, I'm opposed to consensual noncon as a kink, just that any sex story without age appropriate enthusiastically consenting partners is something of a hard pass for me.
I love that our seme is a complete tsun. It actually says in the afterwords that the mangaka originally drew him thinking he should be the uke, which is what I think makes him such an adorable seme. I was expecting this to be more PWP, but it was a really cute read.
I really liked this and am pretty annoyed with myself for not reading it sooner. 😒 We follow two very messed-up characters with hearts of gold - Yuto is an arrogant businessman who finds himself infatuated with a beautiful male prostitute named Tamaki. After learning that Tamaki is homeless, Yuto invites him into his home and begs him to stop selling himself.
The cover would make you believe this is a super smutty story, but it's actually more wholesome than debauched. Tamaki has experienced a lot of sexual abuse and trauma, making him believe he's only worth the change men throw at him after sex, so learning to trust that Yuto's kindness doesn't come at a price takes a long time. But it's so worth it. 😩
It also doesn't hurt that they're both tsundere idiots.
Very good, I love the two characters, their personalities actually mesh pretty well together, their stubbornness might be a strong obstacle but they can do it.
I really liked it, good backstory and both characters match up pretty well. It's a steamy piece but very heart warming as well.
Edited my rating as I remembered the first sex scene wasn't really consensual and I feel like that's still an issue that this genre faces as failing to clarify non-consent play or rape-like scene.
The consent issues were a little much for me, especially the first time the main characters have sex, but there was enough redeeming about this manga for me to give it two stars for having sweet moments nonetheless. I’d read more from this manga-ka.
Cute story I wish they put more detail in it. I really liked the plot. It was unique and interesting I just wish they would have developed the characters and bit more.
Good story, sweet characters, kind of wish there was more. I definitely loved reading it. Was fast and easy, not a lot of angst. A+++++ Story & Writer. Cute artwork as well.
I think this is a cute story. I feel like it could have been drawn out longer, meaning I think this had potential to be a series instead of a one shot. But overall I liked the story.
Tell me again why I bought this? It was on a whim, and I was interested in the soft yet linear drawing style on the cover. It's not horrible - the old story of a successful business man falling for a sex worker - and there are some interesting if unlikely twists. The uke is drawn, mostly, with evident tenderness, but the seme looks like the oldest child of Cruella DeVille. I'll never understand the Japanese cultural taste that sees bitter-looking guys that double as drag-queen wannabes, with the big floppy bangs hanging to one side, as sexy or attractive. Thin narrative, mostly unengaging characters. Don't bother with this one, there's much better.
This has been a frequent comfort read for me over the years. That’s really it. I just enjoy it. Three cheers for problematic BL tropes and tragic character back stories.
