One of the great films dealing with the acting industry and the complexities of love. Probably my favourite film by the great Żuławski that I've seen so far. The screenplay has unexpected delights, and I also realized just how much the actors bring such depth of feeling; especially the magnificent Romy Schneider. The film really hinges on these performances. And wonderfully so.
