The Fed Sex Man

Rate this book
Having the perfect package delivered can be a life changer

JO – Tyson Neese had secrets. Secrets that forced him to distance himself from anyone who offered him love. Bouncing from woman to woman, he feared not what a relationship provided, but what he may lose if he gave himself to another.

He delivered packages for FedEx, wearing his lack of trust like a shield of protective armor.

I was enthralled by him. Anyone would have been.

He was a walking orgasm, and an intriguing one at that.

His real beauty, however, was imbedded much deeper than what could be seen on the surface.

A socially awkward nerd of a book store owner who spent all her idle time secretly reading steamy romance novels, I was the least threatening woman he’d encountered in years.

He must have sensed it, because on the night we met he set his armor aside.

Open-mouthed, and completely out of my comfort zone, I wondered…

Could I live with what lie beneath?

TYSON - Jo Watson was the notch on my sexual bedpost I’d been waiting for, and nothing more.

One night with her was all I wanted. Hit it, and quit it was my motto.

When she agreed to go on a date, she didn’t tell me everything. I wish she would have. Had I known of her assets in advance, I wouldn’t have gone.

Not knowing, however, started a sequence of events that changed my life – and hers – forever.

Hildreth has finally published a book in a manner to earn him a spot with the 'real' authors!

In The Fed Sex Man, Hildreth pulled all the stops. A great story with fabulous character arc, many subplots, smoking hot sex, tension out the wazoo, and ancillary characters that will have you laughing so hard it just might make you pee a little!

This book is fan-fucking-tastic.

Jo Watson is a socially awkward self-described geek who suffers from social anxiety. She owns an Indie Bookstore, selling all the up and coming (and established) Indie Romance novels. She lives to read, and reads to live. Lacking the social skill of the heroines in her books, she lives vicariously through the books she reads.

Never a boyfriend, and basically no sex (one fling at eighteen) are her only claims at normalcy when it comes to sex.

She works with a hilarious cowgirl who is versed on the subject of sex (or so she thinks), and poor Jo believes everything her crazy nut-job co-worker tells her.

Enter Tyson Neese, a former jock. Now working as the FedEx man, he delivers a package to the bookstore (on his 'new' route), and immediately sees sexual value in the nerdy owner.

A date (of sorts) ensues, and begins a sequence of events that must be read to be believed.

In the words of Jenny (the cowgirl), "Ho-Lee-Shit" this book is good.

Laugh out loud hilarity. Smoking hot sex. Sexual tension that'll make you squirm, and a storyline that is challenged by few.

I have no idea what could have been done to make this one any better. I mean, really. Sex against the wall, bent over the couch, on the bed, in the kitchen, by the beach, and everywhere in between. BUT. The sex doesn't matter so much in this one, the story (exclude the sex) is a must Must MUST read.

Heartwarming, heart melting, and HARD to put down, The FedSex Man is a book we all need to read.

Opposites do attract.

And sometimes, the geek gets the dick (and the man attached to it) she's always dreamed of.

*Drumming fingers on table*
LOL—I have absolutely no idea how to start this review….
Actually did many household chores this morning to avoid sitting down and trying to get my head together to write something that would correctly express how much I LOVED THIS BOOK. Yes cleaning over book discussion, crazy I know.
I went into this book with the thought balloon that this was going to be a light hearted read, full of slapstick Hildreth humor, and don’t get me wrong, it was filled to the brim with many scenes that had me rolling. Except in true Mr. Man fashion there was more, much, much more.
And I am a girl who LOVES more!!!

The story starts with Josephine Watson, Jo, too most everywhere but her sweet mother. I loved her; she is the type of character who makes you feel comfortable being just who you are, warts, and all. I loved that she let us see all of who she was, no games, no tricks; she laid it all out there, even when she was afraid. She took a chance on many things, one of which was another AWESOME character her bookstore employee, Jenny “From the Block”. The conversations that these two had CANNOT BE MISSED!!!!!!

Tyson Neese was in a word, MORE…. Yep you must read this book to discover the twist and turns this author will take you on, when peeling back the layers of who and what makes up this FedEx delivery guy. One thing I will share is his friend Shawn, *whispering* --is a tad more hilarious then the cowgirl, but you did not hear that from me…. Shhhhhh. I am not going to go into much detail on their love story, because HELLO, that is why you should read the book, to discover it. IT IS WORTH IT!!!!!

There are events that happen throughout this story, that for me, truly remind me that the people that cross my path are there for a reason and to take a chance on what is happening and be grateful for what is to come.

This novel is not to be missed, there is SOOOO MUCH MORE to this outstanding story, then I can possible sum up in a review. If you love stories that fire up ALL your emotions then gift yourself this wonderful read. And after you fall in love with the story, and decide to splurge on the hardback copy, just remember…. Having the perfect package delivered can be a life changer.
That is it that is all I got.

This book has it all. I literally couldn't out it down, it is such a great!! Scott's way of writing draws you into the book as if you are the character of the book. I cannot praise his writing enough. The book is different than Scott's usual books, yes it is still an amazing book but something is different in his style. Everyone needs to read this book, you will laugh and smile while reading it.

Something totally different from Scott and I really liked it.
Honestly, I can't put a finger on why I didn't love it, but I didn't 'feel' this one the way I usually do Scott's awesome reads - good story though.

Having said that, I'd love for Jenny and Shawn to have a book of their own!

Y'all know I almost always am saying how the newest book from Scott Hildreth is my favorite, well your about to hear it again.
This book had everything. It was a light hearted change from what I usually read. After Ghost I didn't know what to expect, it looks like the author knew exactly what we needed to recover from that one. The humor made it so amazing, it truly made the book. Jo was so freaking adorable, a bit naive in some ways but she was someone you could connect with, I'd buy that girl a beer an see what pops out of her mouth (really I just want to find this bookstore and live in it) and Tyson, what can I say about him. Hotter than hell, a hit it an quit it kinda guy with a troubled soul.
Both characters evolved throughout the story with the help of each other and a bit on their own, it was great.
And funny, did I mention I LOVED the snark an humor?
Now to say this is my absolute favorite book from Scott would be a lie, to say Ghost takes 2nd place no, not going to happen. I do however love them both for different reasons, the stories are not at all similar but each individually gave me reasons to love them.

Definite 5*****

Just finished Fedsex Man, honestly it was not what I expected. After Ghost Scott posted that he wanted something funny to follow up such an emotionally heavy read; so I was expecting a sexy romcom full of to quote Scott "bubblegum and butterflies". Instead what I got was a sexy sweet book that was real life. This book has surpassed every expectation I had for this book. I want you to know that this book touched my heart in a way that I can't possibly explain. Thank you Scott.

Whew, not sure what to write ....I know I'm going to feel different about the Fed Ex man from now on, for sure.
Erotica or romance?

Scott usually has a little bit of himself in every book. This time Jessica tags along. Hilarious!!
I love this mature writing with love and loyalty. It's pretty smutty too!!

This was another excellent book packed with emotion and feelings by one of my favorite authors. Jo and Tyson are amazing characters and I enjoyed getting lost in the pages of their story.

I absolutely adored Tyson. The man was hot and confident, but he was also sweet and considerate. His past was tragic and it hurt my heart to learn how Tyson suffered. I liked Jo as well. She was beautiful and sweet, and although she was a bit naive at times, Jo was adventurous and the perfect woman for Tyson.

Jo’s dad John was another wonderful character. The bond that he and Tyson developed was touching and it was obvious it meant the world to them both.

The ending was perfect and I can't wait to see what SH releases next. Maybe some more Fisher Knox.

Who here has ever had a passing thought or fantasy about the delivery guy? Jo certainly likes what she sees when the Fed Ex guy delivers a package to her bookstore, enough so that she places an online order so she can see him again. But the adventures and excitement she experiences in life exist only in her active imagination, and she has no idea how to behave around any strangers, much less a guy she’s interested in.

I adored Jo! Nerdy, socially awkward, and somewhat inexperienced, but when she gets comfortable, all bets are off and the bold, brash, outspoken temptress comes out. From first appearance, she's just the gal Tyson wants to fulfill his high school librarian fantasy, but he has no idea what he’s getting into! I really wanted to dislike Tyson, with his shallowness and catting around, but as I got to know him I found that to be impossible, and before I knew it I was falling head over heels in love with him right alongside Jo. When Tyson suffered a loss years earlier, he lost everything, including himself. With Jo in his life he manages to find himself, along with everything else he never realized he was missing.

Hildreth may seem big, bad and tough, but if his writing is any indication, his heart is made from marshmallows, puppies and even a little unicorn dust. Yes, the sexy times are steamy and tantalizing and the bits of humor inevitably cause bouts of laughter to erupt unbidden but don’t let that fool you. This book is all heart and soul, with just enough wizardry in its crafting to have you believing in things like soul mates, redemption, destiny and forever love. Get your copy of this steamy, heartfelt, phenomenal read today. You won’t be sorry!

I constantly find myself struggling to describe or categorize a Scott Hildreth book. Whether it’s trying to figure out what shelf to place him on in my Goodreads Account (he now has his own shelf – the name changes, but it’s just his) or to a fellow book lover who has never read him – his work defies description.

Is it romantic? Mmm hmm.
Is it sexy? AF!
Edgy? Yep.
Complex? You bet.
Emotional? Can you say roller coaster?
Hot? Combustible.

I go into each book expecting something extraordinary and still manage to be blown away and finish each book feeling like I’ve had my world rocked. I want more. If I could eat his books with a spoon, I would. They’re delicious.

The side characters always play an important role and Jenny is probably one of my favorites. I loved her style, her candor and the fact that she can crack you up just by being honest. She’s not trying to be funny she IS funny. Jo’s dad completely stole my heart. He’s as honest as Jenny – and as hilarious, but so very different. He’s a man’s man.

Jo and Tyson are uniquely awesome. From their hilarious and somewhat disastrous and eventful first date, to the epilogue, you’re invested. You know them and you are rooting for them. Their chemistry is what you want in a hero and heroine. Their journey to get to HEA is nothing that you’d expect but worth the ride.

FedSex man could have been just that, FedEx man and sex, and he would have made it awesome. But he packs so much into his pages, so much substance and what I like to call the Scott “feels” that it is just so much more. You will laugh your butt off, you’ll cry, you’ll be turned on and you will never look at a roma tomato the same again. And you will have loved every single written word.

I got it, let's review . . . . . .I had been wondering where Scott has been hiding? ...when u notice that you have not read a Scott Hildreth book in a while u do start to wonder? what kind of stuff is he fixin' to put out now? The beginning of this read ...in well, just read it ... have a tissue ready ...golly gee ... love it when a man makes ya cry for a good, sweet, memorable reason. a bond between family is one that will always be awesome!! Might even make you think ... maybe??! I had no clue ...thought I had a thought, but u might change a thought or two. if that makes any sense what so ever??!

Any who ...this book ...where does a person beginning? ... like let's start with where the heck are all these sexy UPS, USPS and FEDex dudes??! i've never seen one in the real world??! just saying. but i'll keep looking. there are movies with hot ones in them, or at least they are playing the customer as one, lol! Full of laughs, passion, and love

I will admit now I have been on a Scott Hildreth boycott for a bit. With the last 3 books I read I was very disappointed. When I first started reading his books I liked his angst riddled alpha males. He wrote from a perspective most women don't see. A heterosexual man writing romance and erotica. So, with the last few books I just didn't feel it. Until now.

Gotta say, best book yet. What made this was the mix of humor, angst, and personal growth. But, just like in all his books the character with the most depth and growth is the Male lead. The female lead in this case while dealing with social anxiety and interpersonal anxiety does have personality growth but feels more like a supportive character for Tyson, the Male lead.

One other small issue...chick is the owner of a bookstore that caters specifically to independent romance and erotica publications but she is THAT innocent about sex? So naive she believes her coworker about boys going to hospitals to relieve certain issues. Seriously?

I loved the story. I loved the depth of the story. I loved Tyson finding a measure of peace. The humor was awesome and I pray Jenny finds love and a woman kicks Shawn where the sun don't shine. Best book yet Mr. Hildreth. I loved it.

Another fantastic book!

There are many reasons why I love Mr. Hildreth’s stories. This book encompasses all of them!

This story of Jo and Tyson is fabulous. There is humor, there is real emotions and there is an honest and fun portrayal of love and sex. This is a true romance story, not erotica. Which is beautifully explained by Mr. Hildreth.

I appreciate the honesty in Mr. Hildreth’s words. From relationships to confrontation with authority figures, he writes with passion and a fierceness that is truly him. (And he makes no apologies for it)

The secondary characters are hilarious and bring just more to the story. I also really enjoyed the name drops of all the fantastic authors! Especially the phone call with a certain author!

You have a life long fan in me and I can’t wait to read what you put out next!

Best book I've read in a long time!

I seriously loved this book. The characters were completely relatable and easy to become invested in. Tyson was kind of the stereotypical guy you'd meet in a bar; out for a laugh & a good time. I think more than a few of us can relate to Jo. Jo's parents were a fabulous addition & really added depth to the story. Mr. Hildreth congratulations, you've done it again! I will definitely be adding this book to my reread list.

Just finished Fed Sex Man by Scott Hildreth. When I first started reading this book, I didn't knew what to expect. My last book from Scott was GHOST and that was a very emotional story. Fed Sex Man is a book with humor, anxiety, lots of emotions, loyalty, love and sex. The story of Jo Watson and Tyson Neese is emotional and fabulous. Loved the principal and second characters. THE FED SEX MAN is beautifully written funny contemporary romance about an indie bookstore owner and a sexy FedEx manwhore. I super loved this book! It was an entertaining and witty read. Tyson and Jo's chemistry was off the charts and the secondary characters like Tyson's best friend and Jo's assistant, as well as her loving family, added more delight to their story. Also, I learned more about the indie book community after reading this book! This was a winning SD Hildreth masterpiece!

What did I just read? I don't think I've ever read a book quite like this one and I've read thousands of romances in my life.

It took me quite a while to warm up to the H, Tyson. He was promiscuous in epic proportions. By the end of the book, I liked him.

The heroine, Jo, was funny from the beginning. Even though she had some issues, for the most part she was an everywoman who I could relate to in her actions.

The two best friends were show stealers . . . the Freak and the Cowboy. Every time they were involved, things got weird and amusing.

I don't think I can compare this book to any I've read in the past 10 years or so. That said, I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys humorous contemporary romance with a real voice instead of a fairy tale flow.

Jo owns a bookstore and Tyson is her local fedex delivery guy. Jenny and Shawn are each of their best friends that definitely deliver great humor and actually great advice through this book. At times though maybe too much advice.

Jo doesn’t have a lot of experience with men and Tyson has no experience with women outside the bedroom. So this book is laugh out loud funny as these 30 somethings stumble through the dating life when neither of them know much about it. However, the story that is told between the pages tugs at your heart strings. I laughed, I cried, and I learned things throughout this book.

This author has a way with all his books of throwing in lessons about life that you wish you knew a long time ago. So kick back, grab a drink, your Kleenex, and get ready for a wonderful book that’ll put a smile on your face.

A PACKAGE WORTH THE WAIT

Where do I even begin...BRAVO 👏! This truly is an absolutely phenomenal read! With this title and the Author being Scott Hildreth, I knew I couldn't wait to read this book.

So I quickly learn that Tyson Neese is every woman's fantasy. He's a bit of a bad a** and a former football God. He's also the Fed Ex man that delivers if you know what I mean.

When he's making a routine delivery, he meets the beautiful Jo Watson. She's his fantasy come true, literally and figuratively. His delivery to her bookstore leads to adventures we read about in Jo's romance novels.

This couple gives us a bit of everything. We saw the sweet couple side of them, the fresh side of dating, working through a couple facing their attraction and engaging in such. I loved how open Jo was with her sexuality and desires.

Then add in their best friends...whoa! Jenny was absolutely a hoot. She was honest and loyal to Jo, simply telling her what was what. She makes a woman rethink the "must haves" in a man lol. And then there's Shawn. He made no apologies for the man he was. Loved his comparing everyone to a celebrity.

I have a soft spot for Jo's dad. He was a pivotal role model and source of strength for both Jo and Tyson. He didn't mix words. He gave sage advice we could all follow.

Love, loyalty and honor aren't easy to come by. If you find it, grab it, hold on for your life. I guess it truly is in the delivery!

If you never read a book's Dedication...take the time to read this one. So much in that simple message.

FedSex Man was just what I needed to read this weekend. I was tired and I was cranky. Within the first 5 minutes Scott had me laughing out loud.

Sitting there reading this book, I had a great visual going of exactly what each scene looked like. I could picture the characters in each conversation as they were taking place. That right there is a talent. To be able to make me feel as if I am watching it on a screen is amazing. I felt like I was in the room during each of Jo and Jenny's conversations. I could vividly picture the turmoil Jo was going through with the crayfish. She may be a bit bookish and an undercover freak, but she is sweet and good through and through.

This book kind of gave me a different kind of feeling than his past books. Don't get me wrong, it was amazing, but in a different way. I was a bit put off with Tyson at the beginning. Tyson is nothing like the males in prior books, but that is what makes him special. When you peel back his layers, you cannot help but love him. It takes a good woman to make a man realize he is worth something and to take a risk. This book took that an ran with it. In the end, Tyson is going to be one of my faves. He will shoulder his way into the long line of Hildreth characters that have a good standing in my eyes. That line is getting really really long.

Shawn and Jenny only added to the hilarity of this book. It is definitely one of a kind story. Now I have to go check my house for recording devices, because some of the conversations in this book sound eerily familiar. LOL

Sexy and Sweet

I don't think I've ever read contemporary romance by Scott Hildreth. I have to say I quite liked it. It was in ways different from what he usually writes and yet it was still familiar. I loved each and every character. I found Jo to be completely adorable. She's kind of a sexy nerd. I like that she loves sex, is able to talk about it without embarrassment but is still kind of innocent. What I like about Tyson is that before her meets Jo, he's just a guy with unlimited notches on his bed post and no complaints from his marks. He thinks she's going to be just another notch but things don't go as expected. I loved him trying to figure out what's going on. As their best friends/sounding boards, Jenny and Shawn are the male and female versions of each other. The funniest parts of the book are the perspective conversations between the friends. Jenny and Shawn are straightforward and crude. I loved them! Even Jo's parents are fun. Her mom is smart and patient and her dad grumpy and loveable. Not to be missed is a cool little surprise the author includes. Best of all is Jo and Tyson falling in love. It's sexy and sweet at the same time. Loved it!

Maybe the best yet!

Bravo Scott Hildreth! Not only did he write an enticing novel with unique, interesting characters, we found out he is a true comedian! I have not experienced such hilarious dialogue since PeeBee’s father in “Rough” and Ripp in the Un Series.

The humor started out with a bang from the first chapter, with Jo and Jenny discussing the three things Jenny needed in a man to be interested in him. As I read the dialogue, I kept thinking, “Where does he get this from?”

Later in the book, Scott himself has a conversation with the character Jo. Later, Jessica calls Jo to apologize for Scott’s rude behavior. I loved it!

For those of you that haven’t read any of Hildreth’s novels, get started. For those of you that have followed him, you may agree this is one of his best. Though, that does not take any accolades from the rest of his body of work. My only disappointment is that I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks before another Hildreth classic rolls out.

Inspiring.

A lot of this book was absolutely hysterically funny. Shawn and Jenny were the funniest characters I've read in a long time, I wish I had them as friends, absolute pair of loony tunes but loyal to the core. The main characters were Tyson and Jo. I didn't really like Tyson at first , I thought he was just a man w##re who would break the lovely, sweet Jo's heart , using her like he did other women. As the story went along and we learn things and a few truths seem to dawn on Tyson about his behavior the more I understood him and saw the boy who'd been tragically left and was just trying to keep on keeping on. Him and Jo made the perfect pair and I absolutely loved Jo's parents, especially her dad , what a guy, who wouldn't want him as a dad . I had happy tears at the ending. What a beautiful book and storyline and the characters like only this author seems to be able to write. Makes you realise all of the simplest things in life are the best. Another outstanding book. Probably my favourite . Thank you.

Where is MY FedEx Man?

I have enjoyed Scott Hildreth's books for years. I got behind for a while and now I am playing catch up.

What I enjoy most about his books, this one included is he writes it from a man's point of view that sounds like how men think and say....and he can because he is one. He does it well. His characters are so believable, they are not always politically correct, just guys talking and thinking. I am definitely comparing him to female authors who do not have this ability.

This book is just a small town boy and girl on different end of the spectrum and how they fall in love. Two of his many moral of the story themes in this book is truth and trust. Can't go wrong there.

This book is a must read for those who want their happily ever after-like adults are suppose to act.

Fav quotes:
1. “There’s far too many criminals in this state carrying guns illegally for me not to carry a gun. I’m not planning on becoming a statistic.”
2. The other quotes, I don't think Amazon or Goodreads will allow me to say. Definitely steamy.

If you miss this one you're nuttier than a squirrel turd!

Scott Hildreth knows how to pull you in with his prologues! What an opening scene, where does it lead you? To an unbelievably good read that's where! This book is chocked full of humor and wonderful characters and hot sex! Jo is an indie bookstore owner, with her social anxiety she's found it's easier to live through the books she sells rather than reality. When the Fedex man comes to deliver a package, well, he's the whole package, and what a package he has for her! Sexual heat radiates of Tyson, and he's talking to her, the nerdy socially awkward girl! Tyson can't believe that his teenage fantasy has come to life and is on his route. Their supporting character friends, Jenny and Shawn are beyond entertaining! The whole book is full of humor, hot sex and great romance! You'll be in a better state of mind after reading this book! Sweet, sexy and sometimes emotional story told in Scotts perfect words. Its not his typical book, this one is crazy funny and full of all kinds of quirky characters who will make you laugh and wonder what the hell they are thinking! Jenny was interesting and "unique" and always saying some crazy off the wall stuff but Jared......had me wondering what his story is....Is he gay? Whats making him late to Sunday dinner all the time? Jo and Tyson end up being the perfect couple, she never knew what she'd been missing until she experienced Tysons "baby arm" and he finally found the family he had longed for since his tragic childhood.

Its another must read! Cant wait to read whats next :)

Romance or Erotica?

The difference in romance and erotica is a question in the book. It’s definitely erotica.

I was a little nervous going in to this book after Ghost. And then the prologue...I thought “not again!!!”

But no, this was just a super low angst read of a couple in real life. No getting threatened of any kind. It was just real and sweet and funny and hot. Jenny and Shawn had me rolling and were great side characters. Tyson and Jo were just great together. She was so inexperienced and I felt bad for her that she thought sex meant she was liked. I’m so glad Tyson was patient and gentle with her. I loved the interaction of Ty and Jo’s dad. That was such a great relationship.

This book definitely made up for the heartbreak in Ghost. Great work Mr. Hildreth!
