What would happen if you reminded themselves of the Gospel daily? Matt Brown (author and founder of Think Eternity) and Ryan Skoog (co-founder and president of Venture. org) co-authored this book. It features 30 days of devotional readings; each including a key Scripture, story, and application - all tied to discovering identity, purpose, and calling in Christ. A portion of the proceeds from the book goes to feed refugees in some of the most unreached areas of the world through Venture. org
Ryan Skoog has co-founded several travel technology companies, such as Faith Ventures and Yonder Travel Insurance, and he is also the founder and president of VENTURE, a nonprofit that works in the toughest places of the world, serving war refugees, trafficked people, oppressed children, and the unreached. VENTURE has planted thousands of churches that serve in their own communities to rescue girls from trafficking, start farms, and train in microenterprise and feminine hygiene, leading to generational transformation. Ryan is the co-author of the book Chosen: A 30 Day Devotional.
Chosen, a book overflowing with the gospel. It’s purpose is to do the same to you. Through continuous literary tales, through bible verses, and through thoughtful wisdom this book digs the gospel deep into your soul. Several notable stories such as a colonel who massacred thousands of innocent people has been transformed. Or a blind paraplegic traveling all over poor countries speaking of God’s love. Or even prison walls that were once a church being torn down to once again build a church. All were inspiring.
However, I found myself not overfilled, but without need. As my bucket began to fill with the goodness, I found myself not needing anymore good news. What the book lacks is sin, my sin. The gospel is beautiful, and carries an importunity that should never be undersold. But the law still carries a purpose, and the book didn’t let the law do its work. So if you’re feeling condemned, then this book is perfect for you. If you need a short occasional reminder of the gospel, leave this one on your night stand. 30 short reads that will remind you of God’s love and the gospel!

WOW! What a beautiful 30 day journey to fill my soul with the Gospel. We get so caught up in the day to day, the check lists and taking care of family. Do we stop to pause, reflect and pour the Gospel into ourselves? I sure thought I was by picking up the Bible or my daily devotion.
This book gave me marching orders - prioritizing myself as the first person I should evangelize to daily.
What a nice find in my neighborhood lending library. 30 days of quick but thoughtful and powerful lessons that teach us about the power of the gospel and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Plenty of real-life stories and testimonies along with practical applications on what it means to have the "good news" impact your life for eternity. Great devotional that I would recommend to anyone or to any small group.
