Trevor Anderson gave up his life as a Navy SEAL when he lost his best friend in an ambush. Before his friend died, he'd promised him he'd take care of his wife, should anything happen to him. Trevor left the Navy and returned to his home state of Montana to follow through on that promise. Widow of a Navy SEAL, Lana works for Homeland Security, searching for answers behind her husband's death. When she gets too close to the truth, she calls on her husband's best friend for help. Trevor proposes that Lana move to Montana where he can look after her. She takes him up on the offer, hoping that hiding in the Big Sky state will cool the heat. She finds an entirely different kind of hotness in her relationship with her husband's best friend. While their passions ignite, her investigation catches up to her, threatening to raze the walls she's built around her heart.

I am loving this series, and the characters are sexy in this series. It's Insta-love, but still a good read.
Montana SEAL Friendly Fire is the eleventh exciting tale of loyalty and courage, and looming threats jeopardise their lives and the lives they swore to protect. This story not only highlights the fierce devotion of its alpha heroes but also emphasises the importance of connection and resilience against a backdrop of uncertainty and danger.
Montana SEAL Friendly Fire is charged with tension as they navigate this new environment as bodyguards. Along his journey, he encounters a diverse cast of characters, including resilient women who exude strength and empathy, showcasing their remarkable tenacity in the face of adversity.
Trevor, Mason, and Lana were all very good friends and she loved them both equally but Mason beat Trevor to the marriage proposal and he married Lana. A year later he was killed in action by what she discovered to be "friendly fire". The story doesn't end there and Lana uncovers a plot that has her sending a cryptic message to Trevor who now works for the Brotherhood Protectors.
He enlists their help in order to protect Lana, the love of his life who was married to his best friend. It's a story about second chances and how one woman can love two men equally. Mason asked Trevor to watch over Lana as he knew the mission they were on was messed up from the beginning.
I liked these characters as both struggled with some quilt. It's only natural because of the way they all felt about each other. Trevor is a typical SEAL and he is very protective and an alpha male all the way. While Lana is equally strong in a different way. She sets out to solve the mystery of her husbands death and almost winds up dead herself. She is a strong character and she decides that life moves on and so must she. You can see the struggle in the pages as the story unfolds.
It was faced paced and some familiar faces came to help out. Hank, Sadie and Emma are always fun to catch up with. I long to go to Montana as Ms. James describes it in this series. I look forward to the next story.

Montana SEAL Friendly Fire is the eleventh book in The Brotherhood Protectors Series by Elle James. This series is a great blend of romance, action, and suspense - which is all set against the rugged backdrop of Montana. These books introduce us to a team of former military heroes who dedicate their lives to protecting others, all while navigating their own personal battles. Ms. James’ characters are definitely the heart of this series, and each protector is uniquely crafted, with a mix of strength, vulnerability, and charm. Their camaraderie and loyalty to one another also creates a sense of family that adds an extra element to the stories/series. These plots are fast-paced and packed with twists, cleverly blending high-stakes danger with heartfelt romance. Elle James also weaves in themes of redemption, trust, and healing, making the series not just entertaining, but also heartfelt. The queen of the navy seal story has delivered once again as we are drawn into Trevor and Lana story. Is it possible to love two men at the same time it was for Lana Connolly she loved both Trevor and Mason but Mason was the first to ask her to marry him so he was the one she married causing a fracture in the friendship she had with Trevor, but when Mason is killed on a mission ihis last words to his best friend Trevor was to care for Lana. Trevor has ve=never stopped loving Lana but is it right to lust after his best friends widow even though he still carries the ring he intended to propose with. Now Lana is asking questions about her husband's death and it is putting her in the crosshairs of danger and Trevor will race to protect her and take her home to Montana to protect her but danger will follow her there Will Trevor be able to keep her safe and will they have a chance at love. This is a great book that is extremely well written once again you are totally immersed in the story from the first page and it is great to see old friends back in the story again. This book is the 11th in the series but can be read as a stand alone but believe me you want to read them all.
Once again this author delivers a story with an engaging plot that is filled with twists and turns, suspense, bad guys and as well as hunky ones. The characters are interesting and complex and if you have read some of the previous stories in this series, you’ll get a chance to visit with some of them, since they make an appearance in this book. This story centers around Lana Connolly, and Trevor Anderson. Lana is the widow of a Navy SEAL that served with Trevor, who also was his best friend and part of the “three musketeers” ( Lana, Trevor and Mason). Trevor has been in love with Lana but once Mason married her, he separated himself from the couple. A year after Mason’s death, Lana calls Trevor because she has uncovered a conspiracy against the USA, and feels she is in danger. Will Lana and Trevor be able to survive the attacks against them, stop the attack against the country while finding love and their HEA? Looking forward to what else the author has in store for us. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I have read and enjoyed all of Elle's books in her Brotherhood Protectors series but this one really grabbed me right from the first page. It starts out with a nail-biting scene from a secret special ops mission and then picks up one year later.
The blurb/synopsis is great so I'll just tell you that this story kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The action and suspense are fantastic and the romance and chemistry between Lana and Trevor is pretty hot.
Trevor has to do everything he can to keep Lana safe so he doesn't lose her again. There's also a great epilogue (sometimes my favorite part of a book); I love finding out a bit more about the characters after the main story has concluded.
Elle James has written another great addition to her popular series and I hope it isn't over yet.
An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
Montana SEAL Friendly Fire is a fantastic romantic suspense by Elle James. Ms. James has delivered another well-written book and loaded it up with outstanding characters, some old friends from previous books, some new characters for readers to love. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Trevor and his best friend loved the same woman. His friend beat him to the proposal punch. When his friend is killed in combat, Trevor finishes his time and leaves the SEALS for the Brotherhood Protectors in Montana. When Lana, the widow of his friend calls and leaves a message she needs help and then says nevermind all in the same message, he's off to California. Lana and Trevor's story is loaded with action, suspense, humor and sizzle. Montana SEAL Friendly Fire is book 11 of the Brotherhood Protectors Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Montana SEAL Friendly Fire is a romantic suspense by Elle James. It has many of the characters and some old friends from previous books, some new characters for readers to love. Lana was best friends with Mason and Trevor, two navy Seals. Mason asked Lana to marry him first. With a ring in his possession, Trevor missed his opportunity. On a mission that was messed up from the beginning Mason was shot in the back. He asked Trevor to watch over Lana before he died.
Trevor called Lana once a month not knowing for the first year after Mason died that she had been researching his death. She leaves Trevor a message and he runs from Montana to San Diego as fast as he could. Just in time as someone is trying to kill Lana.
I would say Lana is a spitfire. She almost didn’t need Trevor to save her as she was doing a fine job of that herself.
I would give this story three and a half stars as much was left un resolved. Who is this group planning to over throw the government? Who shot Mason? Did the FBI know anything about what Lana gave them? There were unanswered questions here.
When a story makes you cry in the first chapter you know it’s going to be good, and this one sure doesn’t disappoint! Trevor not only lost out on winning the love of his life to his best friend, but now he loses his best friend while on a mission. Now a year later Lana is in trouble and reaches out to Trevor for help. As Trevor rushes to her side, her life is being threatened. Will he make it in time to save her? While trying to keep her alive, will they get a second chance to be together?
This is an intriguing, suspenseful story, full of emotion and steamy romance. The action is fast paced and engaging, and the characters are strong and interesting; keeping your attention from beginning to end. Each story can be read as a standalone, but the Brotherhood Protector characters are integrated into the whole series. I highly recommend you read this very enjoyable story and series!
Great story. Once again you get to see other characters from previous chapters in this book. Trevor Anderson, Mason Connolly and Lana. The three musketeers, until Mason asked Lana to marry him first before his best friend Trevor. And then there were two. Mason is killed in the line of duty and Trevor is supposed to take care of Lana. That's not exactly what happens. There's suspicion, back stabbing, car chases, shots, murder attempts, GPS tracking and a whole bunch of other stuff happening in this story of friendly fire. Lana is a firecracker and she doesn't need anyone to take care of her, but Trevor wants to be that person. They have to make it out alive to figure out if they can do that. Lots of twists and turns in this story. Ms. James does not disappoint.
I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
Montana SEAL Friendly Fire is a 5-star read at its finest. Elle James weaves a story of intrigue, conspiracies, treason and murder. She also creates believable characters and a strong plot. Trevor is an ex-Navy SEAL and Lana is the widow of his best friend who was killed in Afghanistan while on a secret mission. This novel is multidimensional in its plot because the author manages to throw in some romance and suspense as well. Her characters are well-defined with great depth. Trevor is a man of upstanding character who exudes confidence and has all the attributes one would expect from a SEAL. Lana is a woman on a mission to discover what happened to her husband in Afghanistan. Elle James captures the reader with a book so well written that it feels as though you are watching a movie instead of reading words on a page. Story telling at its finest.
This was great romantic suspense book. I enjoyed the adventure and suspense aspect of the story, but I had a hard time with the romance. All I kept thinking is what is wrong with these people.
Trevor and Lana were in love before she married his best friend. Best friend is killed in action (by traitors). They spend a year denying themselves of each other because of the killed best friend/husband. Now she's in trouble and first person she calls is him. And so the adventure begins.
So I had some questions about the story: 1. Lana went to the FBI and it appears they did nothing. Why did they not do anything with an internal threat to national security? 2. What happened to the "radicals"?
Another fantastic book by Elle in the brotherhood protectors series. Lana loved both Trevor and Mason. Both wanted to marry her but Mason got there first and asked her to Marry him. As Mason, Trevor and the team go off on a mission that only certain people know the details for they are ambushed and Mason dies. Promising to take care of Lana, he is with the brotherhood protectors when a call comes in from Lana. As he arrives a man is in her house and seconds from getting her. From here there is loads of action in this book as Trevor and Lana try and escape the bad guys. But you need to read the book to find out the bad guys and they are closer to home that they think. Can Trevor rescue Lana before it’s to late? Will she be happy with Trevor? A great read within this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Make sure you set aside time to read this one. Once you start, you will not want to put it down. The plot was intriguing and full of suspense. There were some heartbreaking moments as well. I really felt for Lana. Torn between loving two men. Only when one proposes does she choose.
I loved this fact that this book was written with a dual POV. Some may find it hard to believe that Lana could love both Mason and Trevor equally. That is why they call this fiction BUT I am sure it probably happens in real life as well.
Ms. James writes in such a way that I could visualize the scenes in my mind just like watching a movie. This series is wonderful and I really hope it keeps going and going!!!
2.5 Stars - Unfortunately, I could not rate this higher. Trevor and Lana's story started off grasping you to the scene between Trevor, Mason and the rest of their team. It truly made me shed a tear. But, unfortunately, for me it went down hill once Lana took things to the next level. Things were not addressed timely, therefore it felt truly disrespectful to Mason. Trevor redeemed himself for that fault in my eyes, but Lana never did. I felt the author failed in the execution this time around. It even felt that the author, who I have read the last 10 books in this series, was on vacation and a ghost writer wrote this one and failed.
I hope the book 12 in this series redeems this story that is my least favorite in this series.
This book was great! One of the best in the Brotherhood Protector series. Each book is a standalone but each book has some of the same characters that we met in previous books along with new ones. This is Trevor and Lana's story. Trevor was in love with Lana but she married his best friend, Mason. Lana had loved both, Mason and Trevor, but Mason asked her to marry him first. Then Mason is killed and that's where this story starts. Lana is in trouble and Trevor rushes to help her. I loved this book. I was lucky and received an ARC for an honest review and I recommend it to everyone. It has lots of action, romance and suspense. Also, you get to see a lot of old friends.
A promise is a promise and Trevor has not done a good job of keeping the promise he made to his best friend as he died in Trevor's arms. He tried but Lana all but shoved him out the door. Now she's in trouble and needs Trevor to protect her. There is a problem though. They both love each other but have never revealed their feelings. Being chased by a killer reminds one that life is short so acting on their feelings is a natural step. Lana has stuck her nose into something that is huge and although she's turned over everything to the FBI, trouble follows her to Montana. Trevor and the Brotherhood Protectors come to the rescue just in the nick of time.
I have really enjoyed the Brotherhood Protectors series, but have been listening to audiobooks. This one was not available on audiobook (from Hoopla) so I read it on my Kindle. I enjoyed the book, but it is always SO disappointing to me to read a book that is full of errors—somehow it cheapens the experience. The most glaring error (amongst many) was when the heroine admired the hero’s ‘GLUTINOUS maximus’! If there was a human proofreader, they would have caught that stunningly ignorant botch of GLUTEUS Maximus. Hopefully I can listen to the remainder of the books without having to see all of the mistakes.
An enjoyable book. Lots of action and some good romance. Trevor, Lana, and Mason were all friends. Both men loved Lana, but she married Mason. Mason is killed in action and tells Trevor to watch over Lana. When she digs too deep someone comes after her to keep her quiet, and she asks Trevor for help. The meat of the story was enjoyable, especially the action. There were a few things that bothered me a bit. Mostly that both characters weren't sure if they should act on their feelings for the other and it was stated a few times more than I would have liked. But overall, I give it 4 stars.
Nice story. Trevor and Lana had a great friendship and have always loved each other. But they both lived Mason too. Since Lana married Mason, she was off limits to Trevor. But when Mason dies in combat , Trevor and Lana comfort each other but know they can never have each other because of their love for Mason. They do not want to hurt that love. But when Lana figures out Mason was killed by some sinister cover up with in the government, her life is in danger. After she is kidnapped, Trevor and Lana finally figure out Mason would want them to be happy together. Love Wind!
Mason, Trevor, and Lana were the best of friends. Mason and Trevor both wanted more but never told the other and Lana loved them both. Mason beat Trevor to the punch and asked Lana to marry him. She did but now he is gone. Trevor had tried to stay away but now she is in trouble. She has been trying to find out how Mason was killed. Trevor convinces her to go to Montana with him. He is with Brotherhood Protectors now and they will be able to protect her. This will also give them time to both move on from the past and work on the love they both still share for each other.
Lana finds herself in the crosshairs of an assassin but Trevor will give his own life to keep her safe and there are times that it looks likely they will both die before they uncover the truth about Mason's death. Lana lost her husband, Trevor lost his best friend...they cannot allow anyone else to be killed by dirty operatives but will the truth cost them their lives? They have everything to live for, if only they can get past their grief and guilt.
Another on the edge of your seat story. The Brotherhood Protectors have come together to help save the life of a widow of a fallen Seal who in trying to find out who was responsible for her husband's death.
This book starts out putting you in tears. Then it shows the dark side of people so full of evil they go to any extreme. Full of suspense, drama, lust and mystery. It will have you guessing from beginning to the end.
Trevor and Lana’s story is another amazing book in this series! Lana has gotten herself in trouble while trying to find out why her husband, and Trevor’s best friend, was killed by “friendly fire” during an op. Trevor will try to keep his feelings for Lana hidden while trying to keep her safe. The same fight is going on for Lana as well. Book 11 will not let you down! I received an arc in exchange for my honest review.
Great story line and characters, Awesome !! Loved this book. The storyline was so interesting that it had me turning pages in anticipation of where it would lead . I was very intrigued with the characters in the story. Simply awesome . Definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. I would recommend to others. Worth the read and the money!
"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
This book has everything you could want. It's very emotional, leading to a thrilling and intense chase to find the bad guys. Trevor and Lana are strong characters who play their parts well along with Trevors team mates. Nice unexpected twists keep me hooked. Definitely worth reading. I love Elle James books and I am honoured to have received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review which I happily give and would have done anyway.
Danger, loss, second chance love story. This story grabs your interest from the start. Trevor and his best friend Mason were both Seals when Mason is killed in an ambush. Trevor and Mason were both in love with Lana, she chose Mason. After Mason is killed Lana investigates his death. When threatened, Lana calls Trevor for help. No cliffhanger and HEA. Great series. I voluntarily received this arc in exchange for an honest opinion.
