This book..so many thoughts I’m having a hard time getting them straight. For me this book was true feminism. Gaining influence and power through the channels God created rather than trying to be loud, forceful and crude in the name of “equality”. There are not many things that are actually empowering in the feminist movement today. It doesn’t take strength to be a part of it. There is so much more strength in being confident in the role God created for you and fulfilling it well. Insecurity dwells in the base of the current feminist movement by telling women they need to do the same things men do or that they don’t need a man for anything. We do need eachother and we are not created with equal intent. And how much more meaningful is it to know you were created with specific intent? That not everyone can do what you can? ❤️

I’ve read this book more than once and reference it every now and again. This is a Christian book so it helps in understanding the concept of this book if you’re a believer. In this day and age it’s hard for women to see that their true power lies in the gifts God gave us as women when navigating a world controlled by men. Women feel to get ahead they have to be more like men and then wonder why that backfires & they’re labeled a bitch. Take it from a woman that has worked in male dominated fields most of my adult life: military, firefighter. Being a woman (it has nothing to do with sex or using sex to get ahead. This is a Christian book) true to your God given feminine power and intelligence is how you will be taken seriously as a woman in male dominated careers and move forward in advancing women in top leadership roles. The author uses great examples from the Bible in the stories of Queen Esther, and military leader Deborah. This world is troubled & dying because Christianity is dying in my opinion.
This is my opinion & review of this book. I’m not forcing my views or opinion on anyone therefore I don’t respond & debate to opinions that differ from mine. We all have free will.

This is hands down, THE BEST spiritual book I have EVER read. Miss Hammond totally talks straight to the heart of the matter, without pussy footing, but yet with Gentleness in Christ. I always knew why I believed what I did, but this was just confirming and expressing in a whole new light. Her power of story telling had me so interested as I turned page after page, and the scriptural truths were so enlightening and encouraging that I underlined so many things. I think this is a must read for any Christian girl and will strengthen her walk with the Lord, as well as give her the confidence to be who God created her to be. I can't recommend this book enough. I am already re-reading it! Excited to read more by this author!

This book definitely increased my understanding of who I am as a woman and what my God-given role is as such. Though I don't agree with Hammond 100% on everything, I definitely considered this book worth the read.

A thought provoking book for the Christian woman. I was reading the chapter on submission when TLC's Submissive Wives was on TV. The book supports submission but reminds readers to chose a husband wisely for this reason.

A powerful book with a fresh perspective on women's roles and inherent gifts. Even though I didn't agree with the author's portrayal of the Adam and Eve story, I learned something from every chapter. The book helps women see where their true power lies, what their responsibilities are, and gives insight into the qualities of Godly women in the bible and how we can apply their wisdom today. I have not read another book like this one. It was excellent. (This book has been republished as The Power of Being a Woman.)

I enjoyed the thoughts this book conjured up, however, I didn't love the "ultra" feminine position this author took. From the start the book is started with, "Hey girls...we need to talk." Rubbed me initial the wrong way. I did learn a lot from the book though and was glad I got a chance to grow from it. So with that being said, 2 stars for the book 5 for the growth aspect.

I enjoyed reading this book I borrowed from the library from day one and made sure that I finished it.

Ms. Hammond has plenty of information that women in that century need to hear. This book will not be a waste of your time.

This book has some beautiful poetry and a lot of good insights on women. She quotes the Bible throughout and helps to compare those people to us today. A bit slow moving, but pretty good overall.

I loved this book! I really need to read it more often. It shows women who they are in God's eyes and what he meant for us to be. It is really encouraging!
