She has one chance to escape her sadistic captor. But what's waiting on the other side of her cage might be even worse than being kept prisoner in a harem. But instead of finding freedom, she crashes into a rugged, steely-eyed cop with a dark, gut-wrenching past. Dylan Wulf can't make the same mistake again. He can't fall for Mary Jane. Can't give into temptation. Yet he can't stop thinking about the lawless beauty. Her past and his present are about to collide. The man who kidnapped Mary Jane is coming for her... And the entire town will rain with blood until she's his again. And now, the one person Wulf should avoid at all costs is the woman he can't afford to let out of his sight...

"Killing Mary Jane: A Dark Romantic Thriller" by Amarie Avant

All I can say is wow what a absolutely wonderful dark romantic thriller! This author really out did herself with this one!. I divided the reading into thirds because there is so much to observe and I didn't want to miss any of the story. I will say that there will be so many twist and turns you will have to keep up with this amazing story. This is definitely one of those stories that one will not be able to guess at as the story is full with: 'murder, thriller-mystery, drama, memory loss, kidnapping, torture, hot steamy passion and sex' that will keep you turning the pages. The main characters... Mary Jane [MJ]and Dylan [Wulf] were oh my so well developed and oh so very interesting people 'both who suffered from trauma that was beyond their control and forced to deal with it in different ways.' Along with many secondary characters as some will make one cringe, cry, laugh and even wish for a painful demise' as the reader will also get one intriguing love story with a great twisty plot that was met with so many conflicts. By the end the reader will get a well written good story after all is said and done of just why Mary Jane was really kidnapped in the first place. With all of this being said I will add that I thought this author did a wonderful job at giving the readers one 'Dark Intense Romantic Thriller' that I would recommend as a well done story.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Wow, this dark and suspenseful romantic thriller BLEW...MY…MIND! I wasn't expecting the turn this story just took; it has quite an unexpected surprise that is jaw-dropping good! This was an awesome book packed with murder, mystery, suspense, drama, kidnapping, torture, passion, sex, sex—did I say SEX that is off-the-chart hot, intrigue that makes it very interesting and compelling to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. Amarie Avant has become one of my favorite authors—you know that her books will be salacious with an engrossing love story, an interesting plot and dialogue with strong conflicts. I was enthralled with the characters of Mary Jane, Jake, and Officer Wulf. At first I was rooting for Jake, then Wulf, but you may be in denial for a good part of the book and just couldn’t imagine feeling for any of these characters. Mary Jane (MJ) was kidnapped and her kidnaper was coming back for her! MJ has no understanding of why she was kidnapped, but it’s been made abundantly clear—she is now his acquisition and every action has consequences—all the layers are slowly being peeled off like an onion. There are so many intense elements to this story that you cannot highlight on just one. Wait until you read what happens and why she was kidnapped—you will be flabbergasted and appalled. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next while the strong charismatic characters draw readers in and refuse to let go. The story will also pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end. This is a definite MUST READ!

All I have to say is that Amarie Avant has put her foot, leg, hand and arm in this book. I loved Mary Jane (MJ) she was a fighter no matter what she thought her life was and Dylan "Wulf" was pure alpha but I'm not sure if he was as alpha as MJ! She took no prisoners. Amarie weaved a story that was dark but not so dark that you couldn't see the light and she gave her characters "character". I loved the relationship that developed between MJ and Wulf but I have to say that I also loved the relationship between MJ and Jake, now that was a crazy SOB. If you want to read a story about a girl that was made to think that she was living a certain life but then she took on another life and then another life but got to have two alpha guys panting after her, then this is the book for you! MJ could get into some stuff and whether she had Wulf or even Jake to help out of her current situation she was not one for being a damsel in distress, that's for sure. Killing Mary Jane was insanely intense with a dark theme (not enough to make me not want to read it, it had enough to keep my attention) thriller while being wildly romantic. I felt as if I was in the story and didn't want the story to end.

What a Rollercoaster ride of Intense Action

What an intense drama filled book. MJ Multidimensional personality had me on some many twist and turns I didn’t know rather she was MJ, Mallory, or Megan. Each story piece when I read them revealed a little bit more of MJ. The Relationship she had with Jake was with his help keeping away from Beasley that sadistic SOB, had me cheering til I found out what his true purpose was, SMDH. The love she and Dylan found with each other was sweet, and Heartfelt. Each of them found what the other was missing in life with each other. MJ was a badass all though the book. Love the fact she could take care of herself, but she had two, not one Alphas willing to kill to keep her safe from harm. Even though one is Cray then Lucifer. And the hitman or whatever he was Hurricane. Lord I was afraid myself after reading his Bio. I can image what MJ was feeling after being captured by him. But my girl managed to use what the good lord give her. Bravo Love, Bravo. Amarie Avant Killing Mary Jane was a Dark Intense romantic Thriller, which had me captivated from the beginning to the end. This was everything, Amarie remarkable writing has truly Evolved. Congratulations love on a job well done

A Thrilling Adventure!!!

In this thrilling adventure ride you'll be experiencing a mind bender of a story that will keep you intrigued and on your toes guessing what's going to happen or be revealed next. This mind twisting story centers on Mary Jane and Dylan but is supported by a whole set of cast of characters, some will make you cringe, some will make you cry, some will make you laugh while others will bring out your bloodlust wishing for their slow painful demise. Mary Jane and Dylan are both very interesting characters, they both are suffering from trauma that was beyond their control and are both forced to deal with it in different ways. Things really start to turn interesting when more layers of Mary Jane are revealed throughout the story. As well as the very every present character of Jake as well. It was very fascinating to see Dylan deal with everything that's happening to him from the time Mary Jane literally runs into his life. Mary Jane just can't seem to catch a break no matter what she does or how happy she thinks she is, 'out of the frying pan and into the fire' seems to be her motto. If you like stories that will keep you intrigued till the end then this story is definitely worth giving it a try. Highly recommend this book!!!

Casting Call 💮💮💮💮💮

This book reads like a movie reel....Mallory/Megan/Mary Jane is a formidable femme fatale....when she's drugged and brainwashed....she can decimate her enemies in a blink of an eye...when she's drugged and brainwashed....when she's lucid and her normal self...she cannot comprehend what a mess she's made of her life....she's determined to wreck her life and go back to drugs,stealing,whoring....but wait....none of that is real or so she thinks....Wulf is determined to save her....he's her true hero....Jake the Terrorist/Serial killer wants to be her savoir and lover..but he also really wants to kill her...now that brings us to her husband Peter Greinke....he's not your ordinary psycho....he's filthy rich...has a nasty way of making people disappear and is totally without a moral compass....than there's Beasley.....the fat dehumanizing owner of the Petting Zoo...this book will mind fu@$ you...I definitely hope there's part 2.....that bi!(h Linda is still out there...

This book had so much to offer from kidnapping, human trafficking, drugs, psychos, action, and lots of hot sex. Not for the faint of heart, but a must read for those who like some exciting reading. Well written plot and characters that drew me into the story. I found myself talking back to the pages in rage, frustration, and relief. I loved it! Mary Jane doesn't have her memory, but she does have a champion in the form of Dylan Wulf and some other questionable allies. You don't always know who to trust here and there are some big surprises along the way with a nice twist at the end. Definite must read!

Kill Mary Jane Doe...2.0

First, I see a sequel. Neither the husband or his ex-wife are dead. As for "Killing Mary Jane," the novel, it gets five stars because five are all that are available. The story is a convoluted mystery. Apparently, MJ can't remember the events of one day to the next. Why is Jake helping her? Why doesn't he just kill Beasley and free her? And why does she go to the cops when Jake specifically told her not to??? Then she encounters Officer Wulf...let the story begin!!!

Erm no thanks

I couldn't get into this story. I only got a third of the way through and the death toll was just ridiculous. Blasting grapefruit sized holes in breasts and slicing off a guy's rubbery shaft isn't the kind of dark I like to read. And MJ/Anya being secret agent undercover? Hmm. It's too predictable what twist is coming.
This is more fast action movie. I think it's listed in the wrong genre.

I can't believe I finished it

I normally love books by this author, but this was awful. I absolutely hated it. I skimmed so many parts of it because it seemed to drag on and on and on and the characters made absolutely no sense. I didn't like either one of them. Neither of them were likeable people! I hated the back and forth with everything, the crazy memory loss, everything. I was very disappointed in this whole book and would never read it again.

WOW!!

This is the first time in loooooooong time, that I wasn't able to figure out what was really going on. I was way off on who was who, and what was what. I truly enjoyed reading this story. It is going back into my rotation so I can see if I missed anything the first around. You are an amazing writer!!

Wonderful story!

Wow, this book is dark. One minute you would think she had a horrible life then the next it was a wonderful upbringing. You can't help but feel sorry of what Mary Jane goes through. One minute you think she is safe the next a crazed woman after her. You'll enjoy the journey to her happy ending.

What an amazing twisted read

This book will keep one big question going through it all... who is mary Jane?
Dont get to comfy if you think you have it figured out cause you dont. So many twists and turns spin this story around and I loved .
A few typos mixed up in the book but that's not something that would put me off this book.
I'd highly recommend this as a read

Review

This is a long book and it is very dark it involves violent men with no moral scruples at all. The law enforcement bringing them down to my mind are more keen on catching them by any means than the victims. But that is my opinion, it is a good story so read and judge for yourselves.

Too ponderous

I liked the plot and characters, but it needed to be edited for extraneous irrelevant details that slowed the pace of the story.

I wanted to rate higher, but could not justify

I pride myself on always finishing a book, but I just can't this time. While the basis of the book is pretty good, I'm dizzy as can be with all this jumping back and way too many things going on. It's a major overload. I made it to 34% but I can't go on.

This is the first book that I have read by Amarie Avant. It is a different genre than what I normally read – but I did enjoy it. There were times that I had to stop reading and wait to come back to reading again – guess that the story would just get to me and a break helped.

The story centers on Mary Jane (MJ) and Dylan (Wulf) – and a whole lot of others. MJ is held hostage and brainwashed – but why?? And who instigated all of this?? Wulf (a cop) has his mind set to help MJ out of this situation. They both have suffered from trauma beyond their control and are forced to deal with it in very different ways. The relationship between MJ and Wulf lends a lot to the story. I don’t write spoilers – so I am not gonna say much more than you really need to read this to find out exactly what is happening.

If you like thrillers – this is a definite MUST READ!!!
