Kehmet, an ancient group of warriors who've lived on our planet for eons. Stricken with the effects of a virus that was unleashed on their people they escaped to our world and have lived among us, some even taking the name of our gods...
"I have to win, no matter what."
Alexis Wilson has been number one at everything in life. Well, everything except for her marriage, after a messy divorce and terrifying run in the dark. Alexis has managed to make a life for herself, and her six-year-old son.
Only to have her past come knocking, sending her running once again in order to escape the nightmares of her past. Unfortunately, her race towards the unknown leads her straight into the path of a far more dangerous fate.
"I will avenge my love, I will burn this world for eternity."
Diablo has lived his life within the haze of madness. Burning away enemies over centuries, until a contingent of Ancients ended his bloodbath. Returning to life, he escapes his tomb-like prison to gain revenge on those who harmed not only him but his fellow Kehmets.
After pulling the last drop of manna from an old enemy, he staggers into the pathway of a running vehicle. Only to find that the assailant is a rare Amouri, a woman with not only kindness but bravery carved into her soul.
Two hearts lost in a sea of darkness will face the hidden enemy kidnapping Kehmets once more. Not only their hearts but their very humanity will be tested.
Welcome back to the World of virile gods, and brave chocolate maidens.
Well, I thought Ahmose and Rachael was confusing, hump!!! Diablo took the gold medal home. Everything did not make sense yet, it made so much sense that this story was beautiful, probably the best one so far in this group, and smelled like roses. Diablo/Erubus or Ere was so much more than all of the gods that the word alpha was on him like a second skin. He had more powers than the others yet very equal overall. Then to top it off, he was scrumptious and savage and beautiful, yet sweet, cuddly and a teddy bear (a God for crying out loud)... Alexis, her was more relatable. Even though she had no choice and no help, it actually felt like she just didn't roll over and accepted the "god" just like that, like how Rachael did. She acted like many of us would have: "so there are other forces in this world beyond our control, and as long as they stay in their lane, I will do the same" and this was straight from her mom's attitude, and that helped make this easier to understand. I love that the ex husband got what he got, good riddance and I can't wait to see who will be next: from Alton to Grant to Eli to Zeus to Rodderick to Hawk(both brothers Mino &Hawc) to Jan-Jan to Ms. Combs to Georgette. There were so many characters having their say, that we surely will have a few stories to read!!! This is my second read from this author, and so far it's been nice...
Please tell me that there is going to be more to this series! I mean Grant, Alton, Janet (Alexis and Rachel's sister)...they need a book. And mutha flipping Zeus is now involved! Why can't my Khemet men catch a break? Who is this Russian guy? I mean...Eberus and Alexis are my power couple! They just go so hard for one another. His golden skin and Red hair..baby..yessssssss!!! He sounds so scrumptious! I need more of this series and more of Alexis and Rachel's mom! Ms. Rolanda is my type of mama. Sounds so much like me! Maybe she would be the one to bring Zeus to heel.
OK, Editor, Editor , Editor please!!! This book has so many promising ideas in it, but i wish I knew it was not the first in the series. I found myself asking too many questions and if you didn't read the other book you still wouldn't have any answers. I still don't entire know what the hell a Kehmet is, or the organization, or any of the key elements in this book. I guess if I'm feeling frisky I'll cop the first book (highly doubt)... Needless to say I was so excited for this book and sadly disappointed. I'm not even gonna talk about all the grammatical errors, or things that just didn't make sense. Booo!
I am happy that we got a book 2. I was about to cry for you got me asking how they get taken i mean the bad guys got more of the kemet people, yes i shorten the word to say what i got to say. Where is Roderick and why i feel there is more to his story and his assistant, i feel they got a love connection. She knows him so well. Plus the mom why did she think she was older than Eli. He is older than she is, plus that wink. Had me going oooooh. Younger woman ,older older man. I will wait for Grant story. Thank you for starting somet new.
I am fascinated with this series after only two books
I have been waiting for a follow-up to the first book I read from this author, Ahmose. When this one was released I thought this would be book two of he and Rachael's story. NOT, but let me say I was not disappointed in any way. I find reading of these Khemets is very interesting and the fight scenes are awesome. Looking forward to the next installment featuring Grant. Wondering will he be the baby sister Jan Jan love interest. If that is to be momma Rolanda will flip her lid for sure😁😁😁.
Those are my way of saying love it love it. Alexis was a basses female once started to believe in herself again. And Diablo man he was awesome. You thought he was going to be the bad guy. But he met Alexis and her son.now you have another bad as kishemet in the family love it thank you for awesome read.
I wasn't sure if Diablo aka Erubus was gonna be someone I liked but, once he met Alexis and Easton I knew then that I would love him. Alexis gave him what he was missing to be saved and in return he saved her. I really enjoyed Erubus and Alexis journey I'm more anxious to see if Alton and Grant will find their amouri because they really want that.
This book kept me goin including the first just had to know wut happen next and this is my first time rack g this author and I was so intrigued....soooooo will will the youngest sister get her superman 😁😁😁
I’m giving this five stars only because I like the story. But the numerous tops, grammatical errors and wrong word usage really spoiled it. Please better editors!
Wow the sisters have a lot in common besides being related lol. The second part of this series was told wonderfully. I appreciated the side comments for certain terms, that were up for question. This is a good tale of the GODS
Waited along time for This book it was so worth it. One question is all the sisters getting a superhero. Loved this book didn't like the blue highlights and numbers but it was a very good book. L.b. keen I am a fan .
I don’t hate it . I was a little confused and annoyed that the characters relationship felt a little rushed and mismanaged. The plot also was a bit unrealistic. It took me out of the book and had me over analyzing.
This book was unusually great. Unusually because I've never read a book like this. I liked it. No I loved it. It flowed effortlessly and the characters were likable. I definitely want to read more.
The story line is good. However the grammar is utterly dismal! I am sure that my 9 year old niece could have edited this grammar. So I can't decide if I will continue to support this writer of not.
Never read anything by this author before, but I will be looking forward to reading more of her work . This book was surprisingly good, I’ve always had a thing about the supernatural and Sufi and this is one of many that I’ve like. If your into the supernatural this book is for you. Great read.
I love how Alexis was able to calm Erebus. It took him from being the villain to a good guy pretty quickly and believably. I would like to know how Rachael was able to sense Diablo when Ahmose couldn't. I can't wait until the next book comes out.
This is book 2 in the Kehmet Series. I love how Alexis handles the many issues in her and her son’s life causing this Novak to have a realistic feel for it!! I can’t wait for book 3!! (Hint,Hint)
I liked the book and the story, but not so much the jumping around from one character to the next at least not without knowing who was speaking and what their deal was.
This book is great. At first I thought the author was all over the place with her writing then I finally understood her storyline. What an amazing imagination this author has.
