“Yeah, well I don’t want to do you either. Being friends sounds just perfect.”
That's not exactly true, but it seems like the right thing for Beatrice to say to the angry man in front of her. Because yes; she had a thing with Day ten years ago. Yes, it was five minutes. Yes, it's pathetically enough probably still the best sex in her whole goddamned life. And yes, she used it to kickstart her new career. A career that has hit a snag.
Day loves his home, but hates the memories he can't seem to let go of. Thirty years of trying to escape have not eased the pain, and now he's forced to stop running. He's frustrated and furious, and to top it all off - he blurted out that he only wanted to be friends with the curvaceous, and stunningly gorgeous woman living in his guesthouse. And the goddamned woman agreed.
A dead woman and secrets from the past seep into the everyday life of a headstrong couple, who slowly learn to rely on each other when life turns rough.
Please note: This book contains crude words and somewhat explicit adult scenes. If this isn't your thing, then this book might not be for you.
From previous books we know Day met BeBe but she apparently hated him and we've had the mystery of a woman's disappearance as well as the disappearance of Day's sister happening in the background....here these issues are resolved
So Day and BeBe met on the very day her divorce was finalized, they had quick sex and he left not realizing BeBe was having a heart attack
Years later BeBe has recovered, left her highly stressful job and got healthier. She's now an erotic romance author and comes to Wilhelmine to finish up her last book. She agrees to rent property from Day for her stay fully expecting that he wouldn't be around. The discovery of the missing woman's body however causes Day's travel plans to change. When Day realizes their hookup was written into BeBe's first book he's pissed but with the sparks flying between them he offers to help her Work out the kinks of her latest novel. The discovery of another body brings Day's tragic past roaring back resulting in shocking revelations not only for Day but for the entire town of Wilhelminet
********* This was my favorite of the series so far, I loved Day and BeBe and their kids, I found the plot more cohesive and better resolved than the previous books In all honesty Day's past with him having 5 kids by 3 (or was it 4) different women would usually bother me but everything was just handled so well that I had no issues with this book. I love the bromance and the closeness of the entire group of friends and I'd love to see the kids get their own stories
****when Day said he doesn't do "forever" I was like dude you're 56 forever isn't as far off as you may think 😂😂😂😂😂
No cheating OW and OM drama that was hilarious more than anything else H's past was messy as hell h was divorced with kids Discovery of 2 murdered women
You have to love when two mature adults can act immature one moment then do an about face and find that ever-elusive spark that turns into a raging inferno while life’s ups and downs go on all around them.
Mia Malone writes about mature, erotic romance…read that, “Yes, Dear, Over Fifty Does NOT Mean Dead.” Her characters come with baggage, decades of baggage, decades of life experiences and for Beatrice and Day, that baggage was slowly being unpacked, all under the guise of let’s just be friends with benefits. What happens when you find that there is more to a person than sex, make that hot sex, or should I say, VERY hot sex?
DAY is the latest addition to THE BROTHERS series about the men who grew up together, had each other’s backs and were closer than blood. They are rough, successful men with a lust for life and quite frankly, they gossip more than the women in their lives.
This romance is peppered with humor, heart and passion, along with some pretty earthy language, but it all works, and these characters come alive with depth and emotions that are endearing in so many ways. Not as dark as many books out there, definitely filled with real adult characters with life experiences that can be raw, appetites that are both carnal and sensual, Mia Malone has nailed mature romance with another hit!

Beatrice and Day met unconventionally. The day she signed her newly minted divorce papers she met Damien...a rebound encounter that lasted all of five minutes, a smack on the bum and a ... minor heart attack.
Ten years ago...Beatrice was drunk, forty-two, a successful vice-President of a corporation, mother of five fantastic boys, ages twelve to eighteen (she had them all before thirty) and newly divorced, having signed the final papers earlier that day...the reason for her vodka lunch.
Her ex-husband Toby whinged about not being seen but he had most definitely been looked at, in his birthday suit and in great detail, by at least four other women that she knew of. Informing him about this piece of knowledge, he told replied that they didn’t matter to him. She then calmly informed him that he didn’t matter to her. And so she’d signed the divorce papers that very afternoon.
“We must do it again some time,” he said. “Did you just slap my butt?” “I have a meeting downstairs, so I really have to go,” he said. “I’ll call you.” I smoothed down my dress as I watched him move toward the door which was just a few steps away. A heavy weight settled on my chest, and there were suddenly tingles down my left arm. Or, oh God. I realized what was happening. “You have to –” “Don’t have to do anything, babe,” he said, suddenly sounding not so happy anymore. “You asked for this, remember?” “Yes, but I need you to –” The pressure had increased to an iron band across my chest, and I raised a hand to massage it, hoping I had a little while longer. If I could make him understand, I’d get help. “Bye, darlin’,” he murmured and opened the door. “You have to…” The door closed softly as I finished the sentence, “call an ambulance.”
She accepted her severance as a sign.
The therapist had told her to start writing things down. Like a memoir, or a diary.
She. Wrote. A. Rebound. Novel.
*** Ten years later, Day preemptively suggests a tentative friendship during Bebe’s summer visit. Within three days their protests backfire and they regret their ‘friends only’ agreement as they both find themselves wanting more...compounded by their ‘not forever’ admissions. *** Jenny glared at Toby, “Are you Bebe’s ex-husband? The one who let her raise five boys and couldn’t be bothered to cook dinner one single f#&*ing night? The one who let her work herself into a heart attack? The ex-husband who keeps annoying her each time he’s done f#$*ing Barbie, or Cookie, or Billie-Lou, or Bambi, or Mambi?” “Mambi?” Toby said, looking astonished, but it changed to condescending. “Are you drunk?” he asked. I saw it happening. As if in slow motion, I watched Jenny raise her arm, form a fist, and plow it right into Toby’s face. There was a stunned silence, but then Paddy threw his head back and started laughing. “God, Jen. I love you so much,” Jenny looked at him in silence for a beat “That’s good, Padraig, because I think I just broke my wrist.”
Her ex-husband dated stereotypes, usually a Candy or Mindy, or Bambi. Young, skinny and sweet. And not very clever. Each time Toby broke up with one, he contacted her. It did bother her sons who liked their father, except when he was bemoaning his undying love for her, only to fall in love with another girl in her twenties called Bobbie-Sue or Tammy-Lou. *** Ten years ago, Bebe at the time was an enhanced brunette (she dyed her hair and eyebrows brown) her hair was naturally bright red so as were her five red-headed sons. Coincidentally, Day is also a redhead and father to four red-headed boys and one blonde girl. He does not date redheads.
“I’m sorry I was a bit of an a**, I think maybe we should –” “Not a problem, considering how it ended the first time we met, being friends is probably wise.” “How it ended?” “You left, I was drunk. Not the best day of my life. But hey, all’s well that ends –” “How it ended?” he asked again, narrowing his eyes. “Nothing. Let it go, Day,” He could tell that she was getting annoyed, or defensive. “Bebe,” he said trying to convey that he was serious. “Beatrice.” She sighed and leaned in closer. “Do you really want to know? You left. I had a heart attack. Luckily, when I hit the floor five seconds after you’d closed the door, I landed next to my purse, so the ambulance was there within minutes.”
Between them, each has five red-headed adult offspring. There are ten red headed children altogether and then there’s Day and Bebe.
“While we eat, I think you should explain why you have to handle your ex,” he murmured. “It will involve explanations about his former girlfriend Bambi.” “My daughter’s mother is called Moonlight, pretty sure I can handle a Bambi.” “You have an ex called Moonlight?” “Amanda, Penny, sort of Christina – and Moonlight.” “Sort of Christina?” Christina, or Tina. They worked together, she didn’t want a relationship. They got drunk one night, and she admitted that she was saving for artificial insemination. He offered to do it for free. They have two kids together. Never lived with Tina, they’re hers mostly, but they’re his as well. “Anthony and Robert,” he said which I assumed meant that I hadn't misunderstood. “Tony and Rob,” he added, and it took a few seconds to understand that these were nicknames and not names of other children he'd sired for free with someone else. “I have five kids too, Bebe, three with women I thought I’d have lasting relationships with, and two with Theresa.” “Where do they live?” I asked. Tony and Rob are down in Denver. Sunny is in Washington. Farley in Miami, and Dig is moving around. He’s in Seattle. Dig? Sunny? “Dig?” “Digger.” “Sunny?” “Sunshine.”
“Where are your boys?” he asked. “Chicago.” “All of them?” “Yes, but we’re not boring”. “Beatrice, your ex dated a girl named Bambi, and you write erotic novels. Pretty sure you're not boring.
Beth —three degrees of separation (social connections away from each other). Lee (Gibson) her ex is Beth’s cousin. Bebe (Day) is Beth’s best friend. Beth (Mac) is Mac’s love interest.
Four of the characters participate in group activities, sex in the same place at the same time. Gib and Lee. Joke and Sissy. They have sex in front of each other.
Then there’s Moonlight, his daughter’s mother making coffee in his kitchen, au naturel. “Day, there's a naked woman in your kitchen.” “What?” he asked. “She’s making coffee.”
Callum overheard Mac and Paddy gossiping and told Annie who thought it necessary to inform Digger, who told Sunny who told her mum about Bebe. The exes sent Moonlight to check out Beatrice. Were people talking about me in a way that reached Day’s ex? Exes? Would the others also show up to drink naked coffee? “Why do you call Annie a hate-child?” “Paddy hates his ex, whom he never married. So, she isn’t a love child.” She talks to Day’s exes. They share a group on Facebook. “All exes or only the ones he had kids with?” “Just the mothers. And Toni. And Pa –” “Moonlight,” Day snapped. “For f-k’s sake.” “Oh, calm down,” she said breezily. “It started out as a group to coordinate around our kids. They are siblings after all.” *** The background story centres on the mystery of Joanie, a part-time waitress at the local diner that went missing. Her then car resurfaces and her body is later recovered, buried. Day feels guilt because he had unceremoniously ejected her, having found her naked and uninvited in his bed, he had kicked her out. The town took it for granted that she had left town. Joke and Sissy found her car, assuming that she’d been in an accident and swept away by a flash flood.
The ultimate betrayal—one of their own kills a girl who had been born there, Day’s sister and another one (Joanie) having settled there for a short time. Day’s sister Tess disappeared thirty years ago and periodically he would resume his search efforts to locate her, a scorned murderer lives amongst them.
He asked her best friend Beth for her blessing, to propose.

I just can't stop reading this series and they are getting better.. I am actually sad that I only have Mac left and I am not sure if I am emotionally ready to say goodbye to this amazing group of people.. It is rare to read stories about middle age people but let me tell you the things they are doing and discussing are 🔥 🔥 🔥 burning hot! The talks are hilarious and the bonding between the brothers is so strong and tight!
Let's talk about Day the restless and always moving Damien the Gold Medal Olympic athlete who is so lost that his way for coping is to run around the world and invest on business. Day is not easy to love he is aloft can be difficult but once you get to know him you will understand the charm behind the man with 5 children on 4 different women! Yes you heard it right the man is a helicopter spreading his 🌱 seed!
The scene with the 10 red heads children is lovely and the cameo roles of the ex-husband Toby and ex-wife Moonlight are hilarious and funny than irritating. Love the dynamics of the children can they have their own books and stories please -Callum and Annie (hate-child) -Andy, Mimi, Brendan, Sunshine etc. We also manage to solve the mystery of the missing women on this book. Enjoyable read and looking forward to know the secret behind the smile of Mac! #Day&Bebe #RedHeads4theWin #Brothers

4.5 I've been weaving in and out of a book slump. I needed a feel good book without all the unnecesary drama. Day and BeBe just kinda rolled with it. I love books like that. *There was actual drama that fit the storyline. The mystery from the previous books gets solved :0).
Day was amazing! I just loved it. I had so much fun reading this book and now I need to read the last book in the series. Bebe is so cool I want to be her when I get older. There children are just wow. Nine boys and one girl all with red hair. Just loved it and the ending was wow and holy shit at the same time. Can't wait to read Mac!
This was another great book in this series about a group of friends who live in a small mountain town.
Damien (Day) was an Olympic gold medal winning skier. He knew Sissy before her attack over 30 years before. He’s lead a very interesting life travelling all over the world and making time to visit with his 5 children that he had with three different women that he’s still on good terms with. He’s a very likeable man, but he’s been unhappy since he was a young man, when he lost his entire family within a few years of each other.
Bebe is an author of erotica. She’s been doing it for 10 years and been very successful at it. Before she was an author she was successful in corporate America, with a VP job by the age of 40. She also has 5 sons. On the day that her life was transformed, she met Day and his role in that transformation was fairly key.
Years later she is friends with Beth, Lee’s ex-cousin-in-law, and Beth asks Lee if she can arrange somewhere for Bebe to work as she needs to finish writing her current book in peace. She ends up staying in Day’s guest house and their meeting for the second time is not smooth.
This book is actually quite poignant with the focus being on Day’s family and their loss, and helping him to move on from that loss. Once more the friends all bond together to help him get through the tough stuff, with love, support and ridiculous amounts of teasing. Once again, this book is a wonderful example of romance for people who have lived a little.
This was a great beginning to a great series. It really needs to be read in order because the author thankfully doesn't repeat information from past books ad nauseum to make them stand alone books. I love the group of friends and family you get introduced to in this book. There are a lot of typos that drive me a bit nuts and I wish I could fix them, but her storyline is so good and her characters are so awesome I can't take away a star for that. It's nice to have fully developed older characters that aren't caricatures. They are all strong individuals and the non romantic relationships are as important as the romantic ones. Jenny and Paddy are a great couple once they allow themselves to be open about their long term, hidden feelings. They make lots of mistakes before they get here. Paddy lives through a miserable marriage because a one night stand got pregnant and Jenny is a victim of domestic abuse in the past. They're both strong in their own way and they feel very real in a way not many authors can accomplish. At the same time they're starting to figure things out, there's danger that they all have to face I the present. Jenny gets kidnapped, Paddy's daughter has a stalker who has assaulted her. But they pull together as friends and family to take care of everyone. I laughed out loud so many times my kids kept asking me to tell them the joke, which at 11 and 8 I could very rarely share. The sex is steamy and again, very genuine.
“Want to be my rebound fuck?” Day and Bebe. Bebe: "I didn’t have any daughters because according to my husband I didn’t have any female DNA." A heart attack gives Bebe the wake-up call she needed but the Therapist who told her to write things down gave her the key.
Day: "He’d planned to go to Malaysia, which was one of the very few countries he’d never been to, and it hadn’t been for any particular reason, but he’d really wanted to go." Day's a runner. From life. From complicated. From memories.
Bebe needs peace and quiet to write. She's staying at Day's place while he's travelling. An unsolved murder forces Day to remain unhappily in place. Sparks fly. Danger hovers. Life gets interesting.
I've been wanting to read the famous redheads story. And it did not disappoint. I could relate with Damian or Day because he likes to avoid his problems. Beatrice or BeBe lives life to the fullest, she had met Day before and afterwards had the most horrible thing happen. But she pulled herself together and got better, and made a career out if it. And a darn good one too. I really liked this one, BeBe balanced out Day and they helped each other figure out being together and slowly fall for each other. Then the murder mystery that slowly unravel. I got to say I Thor it was him, it made sense. But a horrible ending to what was happening to this book, was hoping it wasn't true. But I really liked how it played out. I was rooting for Day!
Awesome story about a woman who moves on and becomes stronger after a divorce. She found another life and another profession that helped her to free herself from a bad homelife.
Day had experienced alot of loss through his life and it set him up for a life as a wanderer. He had alot of kids by many different women and she had 5 by her husband. All redheads which was hilarious.
The missing sister mystery is figured out and sadly I had determined who the culprit was a ways back but it still was a great ending to that saga.
Enjoyed their story and looking forward to Mac.

I really like this series - the characters and the stories. BUT, there are so many grammatical mistakes and errors that could have been edited out that take away from the books for me. Also, sometimes, the sentences just don't make sense. Not sure what's going on here, but again, takes away from the books. This book could easily have been a 4.5 star book, but the mistakes and confusion are getting worse in each book. I really do think the characters and stories are good though.
Another winner from Mia Malone. I loved Day and Bebe's story. Liked catching up with the rest of the crew and really enjoyed meeting all the kids, hopefully some will have books of their own in the future too. Read the first bit of Mac's book at the end....roll on march. Lol. Brilliant read. Highly recommended. Well done Mia Malone!!
I didn't like the personality of Day so much in the beginning and it's difficult for me to overcome first opinions of someone. I know I have that flaw in real life but came to realize it filters over in my reading also. He did grow on me as the book continued and I realized that it was largely due to his 'brother's and the strength of the h in the story.
Some authors just seem to hit just the perfect note to pull you in and make you love everything they write. The characters, Day and Bebe, mature but still in the prime of their lives, filled with experience, knowledge, passion and a no nonsense or games attitude. It’s instant lust but slow burn love and trust, I like how
Have really enjoyed this whole series. Day & Bebe’s story was a solid addition the the rest of the books. The whole crew of 50- something hot guys and their women is much appreciated.
I’ve read the whole series and loved the characters. I really enjoyed reading about fifty-something characters for change. The bond between the Brothers and the way each found their lady loves was well written.
Loved seeing Day 'grow up', loved seeing how Beatrice just flowed with things like Day's exin the kitchen. Enjoyed how she was just herself, and opened herself up to new friendships.
Day and Bebe have an interesting past. A one night stand that left Bebe in the hospital. Day has been restless for years and the reason behind it was his family. All of this come to a breaking point when these two are stuck together for a couple of weeks.
I enjoyed Day and Bebe's story. Once again the characters are fun, strong and relatable. The interactions between the cat of characters its fun. A little bit of drama but not angst. Quick enjoyable read.
This is a seriously hot series that just gets better with each installment! Day has four baby mommas and is a player. He meets his match in a sexy writer he hooked up with a decade earlier. Sparks fly when these two reunite!
Spoilers, I was relieved that they found Tessa even if it wasn’t way I was thinking but I will say before they found out who did it. I had my suspicions about the guy too. But over all I enjoy the book & look forward to reading more from the author.
Hot diggiddy damn this book was EXCELLENT! I loved the chemistry between Day and Bettie. Pleas hurry up and write Mac’s story, he needs a happy ending too.
Love this series Day and Bebe are the cutest. This story is funny, sweet, hot and ever so entertaining. I never want this series to end. Highly recommend.
Day is the fourth of the 'brothers' getting his story, i was not sure if i wanted first Day or Mac but once i started reading it, Mia Malone, you were so right to give him his story before Mac! It had been such a long time coming and he so needed to have his story told and also he so needed Bebe to come and stand next to him so he could sort out his life! If you came across my review and are thinking of starting with Day, DO NOT DO SO! you need to read all of the books in ORDER as they are so linked, it is like a beautiful tapestry that you do not want to rip by rushing ahead!
