Bennett and Veronica's romance is very intense and all kinds of angsty. So in other words, right up my alley.

The book starts out with the beginning of their romance. We get some back history on her mom being Bennett and his brother's nanny and how they all grew up together. The boys are really protective of Veronica which was quite refreshing.

Bennett's been away at college but he's come home and wants one thing and that's his "Vero". It's a good thing she wants him too and so begins their whirlwind romance.

But with all good things, this too must end, unfortunately. I was a little shocked at how accepting Bennett was of the information and absolutely heartbroken at how distraught Vero was.

Life goes on and these two circumvent their way through the next many years striving to stay away from each other. Unfortunately, they are brought together by a horrific event only to find out their time isn't right...yet or ever. (Thank goodness book two is already out!)

This is a angsty oh so forbidden love story, and my heart! My heart! That last chapter!?!?

I’ll write another review, because I realize I made a HUGE mistake as a personal choice reader. I like to read my duets, back to back, rarely, do I dive in but for some reason I thought the other book was out.

So yeah, I really liked this book, but.....oh boy I need the ending! Ha!

Fantastic book! I adored Bennett and Veronica.

Veronica was raised along side the Delaney Boys since her mother was their nanny and then their housekeeper. Graham, Cain & Bennett.

~ To these people I'm an outsider. Lucky to be included, to breathe their air, to be here tonight, even if Graham Delaney is one of my closest friends. Nights like these remind me of that. ~

Bennett, though, is the prodigal prince, recently returned home from college in North Carolina. Side effects of Bennett Delaney according to Veronica

One night Veronica finds herself at one of the Delaney's infamous parties. And she indulges into a little too much alcohol. It becomes a night of revelations for her and Bennett.

Bits and pieces of the previous night come back to her, but a few sentences really stood out.

" You have no clue, Veronica. No fucking clue." " I keep telling myself not to want you..because you don't want me back. "

This book is told from dual POV, Bennett and Veronica. In this book we get more Veronica than we do Bennett, but when it is his turn, he makes it worth it!

My feelings for her are fucking obvious, no matter how hard I've tried to hide them. - I've never wanted anyone-anything as much as Veronica.

This was a quick read, it didn't take long at all, because I devoured it. I cannot wait for Love Hurts!
I have not read His Pawn which is Graham's book, who is Veronica's best friend, so I am going to cheat and read that while I am waiting for Love Hurts to come out. bahahahaha

Veronica and Bennett have grown up together, but no matter how hard they tried, they lived in different worlds. Bennett in the world of wealth and privilege and Veronica was the maid's daughter. As you can imagine what happens is that Bennett and Veronica have this fantastic chemistry and romance happening which later has the pair of them dating despite warning bells from both sides of the family. The pair eventually gets married, and all is going well, and it looks like this couple will have a fantastic future despite the backlash. That is until Bennett meets with his mother who has always looked down on Veronica and hands Bennett some news which will rock his world and end up destroying Veronica's. I had an idea of how this first book would end when the cliffhanger was revealed on the last page , but as I hate game playing, it pissed me off as I'm sure if Bennett had told Veronica the truth then she would not have been hurt as much as she was as Hello - he still loves her. IMHO Bennett was a coward in this story and doesn't deserve Veronica as he took the easy way out, which as Bennett was a guy who came from wealth and had everything handed to him on a silver platter - this didn't surprise me. I am now looking forward to the second half of the Duet when all I hope is revealed to Veronica.

Oh my god this book! I am in a book hangover after reading it and I am going out of my mind waiting for Love Hurts.

I absolutely adored Veronica and Bennett, especially because she comes from a mediocre family, her mother was the help at the Delaney household. But Veronica and Bennett have always had a bond, they were best friends and even though they were best friends, she always harbored feelings for him. She just never wanted him to know because she was not worthy (in her eyes), she wasn't in the same standards as him with his wealth.

Bennett also harbored feelings for Veronica and he would make it very obvious in showing her how he felt about her, but she was so naive and couldn't believe that this man could actually feel the same as she did for him.

They become a thing (behind closed doors) but when things start to get too complicated, they end up getting hurt.

This book was perfection!

I've heard so many good things about this author but never got around to reading her until now and I am going crazy waiting on the second book in this series because I loved these characters so much!

If you’ve read His Pawn (and you NEED to if you haven't!), then you have met Bennett Delaney and Veronica. Veronica’s mom worked for the Delaney family, and she and Bennett have known each other for years. She’s always had a crush on him, and when she turns 18, she discovers he also has feelings for her. They immediately give into their scorching hot chemistry and have hot, emotional sex, and they fall in love quickly afterwards and elope. This looks like the perfect love story, but Bennett suddenly breaks Veronica’s heart right after they marry. They go their separate ways, and I cannot wait to find out what happens when the next book, Love Hurts, releases on September 6. You do not want to this epic, sexy love story!

This is my first time reading Emily Snow, and will absolutely be the last time. I originally gave this book and book 2, Love Hurts, 3.5 stars but have since changed it to just 1 star because Emily Snow originally said it was a duology, and failed to tell her readers she had left book 2 on another cliffhanger and decided to make it a trilogy. We learn that little surprise on our own after paying $4 to read book 2, Love Hurts.

And if that wasn't bad enough, she has continuously failed to release book 3, Crazy In Love, on her chosen release dates. Originally she posted on May 15th, 2019 that she would be hitting publish late that evening. Well, clearly, that never happened. I, along with several others, asked on her social media when she would be releasing it and she never bothered to respond. Finally after waiting 2 weeks I posted on her fb that as a new reader I was frustrated that she wasn't updating fans regarding a new release date or even a quick post about the delay and said I wouldn't be reading anything else by her. Well, of course she ignored all the positive posts by fans asking for an update over the prior two weeks but pounced on my post 6 minutes after I posted it. She claimed she had been upset about news regarding her health and was having trouble posting on fb. (Though she clearly had no problem responding to my post.) I posted a sincere response that I was sorry to learn she wasn't well (I don't get her newsletter so I was truly unaware she has heath issues) and went on the say that it was frustrating that she refused to respond to her fans kindly asking for updates but chose to immediately respond to what she viewed as a negative post instead. Needless to say, she deleted our entire conversation and still didn't bother to update readers about a new release date.

Finally she posted that she would be hitting publish by the following week on Sunday, June 9th and Amazon would have it up within 72 hours after that. (That original post disappeared because she "accidentally" deleted it while trying to update it on the 12th but miraculously had copied it before "accidentally" deleting it so it's the same post just dated the 12th) Well, clearly that didn't happen either since the book was not live on Amazon on Wed 6/12 but instead the first 2 books have been pulled from Amazon with no word from Emily regarding why.

Seriously, WTF is happening with this author and these books? Has she seriously pulled the first two in the series because she hasn't finished the third and final (hopefully) book, Crazy In Love? She has promised 2 release dates, 5/15 and 6/9 and neither have happened and she has not said one word to those on social media who have asked what the hold up is. Perhaps she should have left them as a duology instead of screwing over her readers with another story with a cliffhanger that's probably going to cost them another $4 to resolve. And the worst part about her blowing past her release dates is this isn't the first or even third time she has pulled this crap. Apparently, Emily Snow has a long history of  pulling this and has used the same excuses over and over again about why she continues to fail at releasing a book on time.  But, on the upside, it looks like people are becoming wise to her tactics and lies and are refusing to buy her books anymore, like me, or at the very least, refusing to start reading her series until all books have been released.

The book had a slow start for me, but then I got into the story and connected with the characters and could not stop reading. WHERE IS BOOK 2???? It originally said that book 2 was supposed to come out October 2018, but it is November 28, 2018!

I am actually lost for words, I cannot believe you have just left me hanging like that, I’m not sure I’m going to survive until Love Hurts is released. *Note to self-clear schedule for that day*

Veronica and Bennett have grown up together, the daughter of the hired help and the silver spoon golden boy. When Bennett lets his feelings known, Veronica cannot believe what she is hearing she has been dreaming about this for years. They keep their relationship a secret but when family gets involved Bennett starts to pull away leaving Veronica standing there holding the shattered pieces of her heart.

From the moment I started reading this book I knew it was going to be a non-stop drama filled read, Veronica is this wholesome girl who has goals for her future, great morals and just a tiny bit naïve. Throughout the book she grew into a strong and confident woman. Bennett is the yes man of his family, always the people pleaser he is strong and arrogant but also has a side that he hides away from everyone, heartbreak.

Veronica and Bennett have so much chemistry I felt like they were fogging up the room as I read each line and Bennett with his smooth talking took their levels to the highest peak possible.

This is my first novel by Emily and I can tell you now I am hooked, I’m not sure I’m going to able to forgive her for one of the scenes she wrote or leaving me hanging on a cliff dangling the safely rope just out of reach. I am counting down the days until I can get my hands-on Love Hurts to find out how the duet ends.

This love was a very angsty and emotional read. I loved Veronica and Bennett and thought their chemistry was hot and fiery with an emotional twist. I could not get enough!

When Veronica, the daughter of the nanny/housekeeper for the rich and famous Delaney family has an unforgettable night with Bennett, she never would have expected the journey she would embark on. Gah!! Without giving away any spoilers, this story was such an addiction and I was consumed from the very first page. It was angsty and emotional and I loved the back and forth banter. And that ending! OMG!!

I can't wait for the next book! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

I'm not real connected to these main characters but it's still an interesting story. I always take a star away of review because of it being a cliffhanger. Also, I have a feeling about book 2 and I'm going to be pissed about it not being true and so much time and hurt.

I couldn’t connect with the characters or the story on this one. A group of spoiled rich kids, a humble-come from nothing girl who is the apple of the boys’ eyes and hated by the girls.
The story seemed very unrealistic and yet predictable at the same time. (And done several times before) I felt the sex narrative was very advanced, whereas for a minute I forgot I was reading about a 19 year old boy and an 18 year old virgin.
It was fast paced, which I like, but I had issues with character development and several times had problems with the imagery of what the author was trying to paint. All of which pushed me further from immersing myself into the story.
I’m pretty certain how this story will end, so I more than likely won’t be stalking the release of the conclusion.

Yet another sequel that is not available as promised...

Been here before... took a chance and read a book with a sequel. One, two, .... weeks after the date the 2nd book was to be available, no book. Says you have no respect for my time and think I will keep checking in regularly after the date the book was advertised as being published. Says you don’t know the value of a fan base. Says I need to respect the value of my own time and stop going down this rabbit hole with this author yet again....

It might be a deal breaker for some people to read super explicit sex scenes between characters who turn out to be siblings. The great thing about this book is that you're likely to not care about the characters at all anyway, so you can just sit back and enjoy the wincest.

This Love by Emily Snow is one of those stories that once you've read the last page and your heart has hit your stomach you just don't know how you feel about the ending. I am completely speechless and not sure I can deal with the anticipation until the next book.

This Love is filled with lots of romance, chemistry and the main characters are two you will absolutely adore. Veronica is such a charming girl. I loved that no matter what anyone around her said she stood her ground when it came to the Delaney brothers. She grew up with them and knows who they truly are not who they let everyone see. Bennett is up beat and seems to bring Veronica out of her shell. They are so good together, I enjoyed getting to know them and experiencing their love. But everything that happens after left me feeling so empty, I can't believe what all comes next. It was so not what I thought would happen.

So if you love romance, two amazing characters and and an ending that will leave you at a complete loss you'll enjoy this one. I can't wait for the next book to see what's next for this couple and if the secret Bennett is holding onto is true or a lie.

This book could have a happy ending instead of a cliffhanger and it would have been the perfect novella. It could have really worked as a stand-alone novel if you ask me and I was not a fan of the ending so you can see why (irrationally) I wanted the story to end with this book. Bennett and Veronica were the kind of couple I am rooting for and I liked them together as a couple. They had some cute and some hot moments and I liked the way their relationship was progressing. Everything was doing great until Bennett got a phone call and he started acting like a douche and things went downhill. We read a few flash forwards where we see how Veronica moved on with her life and then we get Bennett's point of view which is rare since this story is mostly told from her point of view and we find out why he broke up with her 5(?) years ago. I was not expecting that and I hope that it will be resolved early in the main book. Also, I want to see Veronica getting rid of the pet before we hit the 50% mark on Love Hurts.

Veronica's mother was the nanny and house keeper for the Delaney family. So Veronica knows the Delaney brothers; Graham, Cain & Bennett since she was young. In the present day Bennett had went away to school and now has returned home. Veronica happens to go to one of the parties they have and ends up having a hot encounter with Bennett. They feel the spark but they are from different worlds that neither is sure they can cross at first. Then there is a secret that is unknown to them that also could impact them.
Ready for the next book in their story.

I don't even know what to say for this review. This is a short book and the first half of the duet but there was so much going on and revealed, I'm still processing it all. There's not a lot to say that would not ruin the story. The story is more than I thought it would be. The angst is heavy and the drama is too. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

ETA: I just realized something. It's mind blowing. You don't even know. I can't even right now. I CAN'T EVEN, EMILY. {mind blown}

This book throws you into it at 60mph and i thunk that's why I struggled with the pacing of it. I liked the chemistry between Bennett and Veronica. I didn't think there was much substance to their relationship though. It was just hot and heavy and (for the reader) built upon the assumption of their childhood relationship. I saw the major twist a mile away so that was a bit of a let down. There are a few other aspects I didn't foresee but I guess I'll find out more in book 2.

Time Jump.

This book just wasn’t for me. The epilogue was shoved too full of content and plot points. If I’d have known it would be jumping through time I would have passed. I really do not like books that jump years, they truly are my ‘don’t pass go’ type of book.
